Surely if you call Asus, you'll be able to work something out with them?
There's no warranty. [editline]15th November 2013[/editline] Why is this funny
Why should I choose this over the stock ROM or Cyanogen? [editline]13th November 2013[/editline] Oh and I've never installed a custom ROM before, so I'm gonna need a tutorial for whatever ROM I decide on.
Stock ROM because it's limited vs Viper and Cyanogen because it's not as stable.
There's no warranty. [editline]15th November 2013[/editline] Why is this funny
Maybe not, but they should be able to fit a replacement battery for cheaper than a new tablet.
I've seen a solution for some who have the problem which is disconnecting and reconnecting the internal battery to motherboard cable, could this work?
Yes, makes no difference. [editline]15th November 2013[/editline] Holy crap, the battery is discontinued. What the fuck. I have to buy an entirely new tablet just for this?
http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Nexus+7+Battery+Replacement/9895 It's a C11-ME370T, you can buy them from ebay and some direct from china places if you trust them.
What should i know before i flash 4.4 on my N4? Can i dirt flash over the N5 port? I dont wanna reinstall stuff a third time this month.
I'd back up everything first just in case.
Oh man, this kit Kat flash fest...
Well I've fixed storage problems, the update package was formatting it that way for some strange reason

Friend has a 4.3 update on a nexus 7 2013. They want to root it, will updating it lose root ability or it doesn't matter?
Friend has a 4.3 update on a nexus 7 2013. They want to root it, will updating it lose root ability or it doesn't matter?
It'll lose the root.
It'll lose the root.
I mean they haven't rooted the device yet. Will updating to the latest jelly bean disable rooting options or not?
How do i know if it have been updated? Aside from build number, kernel number stills on 3.4.0 Well, i have no other option, gonna flash and loose data. EDIT: Flashed, seems stable and quick, now im gonna re-add the GEL stuff to it, and i should be good to go. That, then wait for it to reinstall all of my games, then copy my music... Argh, its gonna be a hell of a ride. Benchmark made it drop from 6570 to 4040, Google, what have you done?
Updates nexus 7 2012 to 4.4 and GEL. Can't access google now by swiping left, and no transparent bars on lock screen. Slightly disappointing but it's still very, very nice.
I can get used SGS2 for around 60-70$ and a new N4 is 200$. My wallet says that I should stick with the SGS2
I mean they haven't rooted the device yet. Will updating to the latest jelly bean disable rooting options or not?
It shouldn't, it's not like Google to do that to their Nexus devices.
A friend of mine invited me to the Aviate Launcher beta. Hint: It's brilliant. [editline]15th November 2013[/editline] Seriously, it's amazing. Also, are android emotes universal? If I use the KitKat emotes can someone on JB see them etc?
Flat icons, then its perfect. Also, are android emotes universal? If I use the KitKat emotes can someone on JB see them etc?
Tried, sadly not compatible. Or I'm doing it wrong. [editline]edit[/editline] Uh Cowabanga, how am I dumb? It doesn't work. I tried manually changing the icon with an icon changer and it makes no difference. I'll assume it's either not compatible, or it doesn't use shortcuts the same way as say Nova would.
I just found out long-pressing the back button in Firefox has a function bound to it. Because that's intuitive.
I have this on my potato and it's pretty smooth (when everything loads), it just loads much slower than Nova when exiting a large app or any game.
Loads fine for me. In fact exiting out of games is quicker than with Nova.
if I were you, I'd wait and save up instead. you're most likely gonna regret buying a 2-3 year old phone
Right now I'm stuck on HTC Wildfire S and I don't really want to spend that much on a phone (especially now since I'm saving up for either a new laptop or pc).
Right now I'm stuck on HTC Wildfire S and I don't really want to spend that much on a phone (especially now since I'm saving up for either a new laptop or pc).
I liked my S2, but you're going to need to run a custom ROM if you want it to be even close to performing decently.
Also, are android emotes universal? If I use the KitKat emotes can someone on JB see them etc?
Only KitKat and above users will see them, since 4.4 integrated them into the system. Alternatively, apps with their own emoji support will display them too on older Android devices (Facebook, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp etc). edit: also, obviously iOS users (and maybe OS X users too? No idea if OS X displays emoji).
I liked my S2, but you're going to need to run a custom ROM if you want it to be even close to performing decently.
That's what I'm planning to do. After one day of watching the TouchWiz I'm gonna try to root it and install newest CM or any unofficial mod running on Android 4.4
