So since I'm using Opera mobile only for Facepunch, I made a Nox-style logo for it because why not?

What's that notif. bar?
Why's that? LG makes fantastic hardware.
My friend laughed at my N4 at school, he only saw the LG logo.
2 hours later, his Motorola cellphone commited suicide giving an modem error, i had this before with an Atrix.
I laughed at him, i had to.

Ok, thanks. Looks nice, btw.
Still haven't got 4.4 on either of N4 or N7² in the UK.
Why do Google have to make everything a staggered rollout.
If you actually want 4.4, why haven't you updated it by yourself yet?
You don't need to wait for it to pop up in the system updates thing.
Try out Next Browser, it isn't shit
You HAVE to wipe if you download the image from Google. Where as the OTA you don't. IIRC

You can sideload it and install it that way, without losing your stuff.
I hate how the latest Google Search update makes it impossible to remove the weather notification while keeping the weather card.

Works fine for me?

You can download the OTA from Google manually and install it from recovery via ADB. Doesn't require an unlocked bootloader and by extension, a wiped device.

Also I recently discovered Feedly. It's an RSS reader app and it's like an improved Currents app. Would recommend.
No, because the Nexus 4 OTA ZIP hasn't been released, if you have a locked bootloader you CAN'T update to 4.4 without loosing the data as you have to wipe to unlock the bootloader.
However the OTA ZIP is released for both the n7's so you can update those without loosing anything.
I'm amazed my stock 4.3 Touchwiz on my Note 3 is way more responsive than my 4.2.1 CWM on my Note 1. I expected touchwiz to kill it.
Works fine for me?
I mean stop it from showing up completely, not swiping it away. Previous version had that option.

You can update to 4.4 with the factory image without wiping the device, but I believe you require an unlocked bootloader for that.
This is exactly why I love Nexus devices: Update comes out, enthusiasts with unlocked bootloaders can skip the staged deployment and do the last-minute release-testing, whilst the casual users only have to wait a week or two to get the update, but at least they get an update.

To not have everyone jump on it and break their download servers..?
Is it possible to compile the stock android messenger and use that instead of Samsung's? Like, as a separate app I could designate as default? I know there are third party ones, but I don't need so much crap in my messenger. I just want my quick reply back without a bunch of features I'll never use.
Just as a note, I have compiled super simple apps before and deployed them to my phone. I know how to do that. I was just wondering if the above was *easily* possible. Unless you guys know of a really awesome third party one that's fast and relatively light weight?

Alternatively you can give Hangouts new SMS support a try.

Thanks! Though it says MMS isn't working. But I found this and it seems to fully work: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thinkleft.eightyeightsms.mms
I'll try Hangouts real quick too.
is it just me or is the app store really fucking slow atm?
This article talks a lot about what's new in 4.4

What I would miss is app ops used to disable permissions for apps without root.
I wish android chrome wasn't so agressive with closing tabs.
I mean my N7 has 2gb RAM, surely it can manage my uni timetable (a static page) and one FP tab without having to close them every time.
My XP laptop with 1GB RAM and a 1.1GHz Pentium 3 managed more than that without stuttering. It feels like it's closing tabs premeptivly rather than when it needs to.
And by closing i mean that unloading thing it does.
Is there any difference in between the all screenshot apps?
Hey is the only way to block ads device wide without root to use adblock and use the proxy method?
Will this slow down website loading times?

theoretically it shouldn't unless the device can't handle both running a proxy server and a browser at the same time (RAM and CPU bottleneck)
Hey is there an app that wakes up a device that shaking said device, double or triple tapping the screen or something like that? To not constantly use the power button to turn on and off the device and hopefully making the physical button last longer?
You know you need a new potato when the lifetime of the physical buttons comes into question.
I always tried o avoid using my potato phones physical home button to by pressing back a lot, only doing done thing at a time (multitasking? On my potato? Hell no. Not gonna happen!) and using power toggles to emulate the home and recent app button. It works and stuff but now I'm looking for something to wake up a device.
you still havent got a new phone?

There's a Galaxy Nexus at a local store priced at £115, is that worth paying?
