How often do you guys do nandroid back ups?
How often do you guys do nandroid back ups?
Only when flashing something new. Probably should do it more often.

Jesus fuck I didn't realise the time, I'm up in 3 hours, shit.

you wake up, up? Or are you self aware when you sleep so you know to be up even though your up.
also, nexus 5 loving it. But I'm having serious battery life issues.
Still haven't got 4.4 on either of N4 or N7² in the UK.
Why do Google have to make everything a staggered rollout.
Because Google has nothing to lose by delaying updates, they have everything to lose if it turns out that they just released an OTA that causes a major bug.
Given the choice between hearing the mostly pointless whining about updates and the threats of class-action lawsuits and mass recalls, Google is going to take the former.

Very seldom. Wasn't a big deal back when my old phone only had 512 MB of internal memory. But my GNex takes FOREVER to do nandroids. Probably because of Google Music storing cache and pinned music to the /data partition.
Because of that, nandroids take 30 minutes to do. Its not worth it since I very rarely go back or break something. Usually if something breaks, its an excuse for me to try out a new ROM and start from a clean slate.

I just back up things with Titanium Backup.
Anyone here uses slimport to hdmi off their phone or tablet? If so, how is it and how much did you spend on the cable?
Honestly, I know every little about TRIM other than the basics of what it does. Do you know what devices use or support it. Does every 4.3 build have it or does the hardware have to support it? I was hearing when it was the big talk of 4.3 that it wasn't enabled on certain devices, ect.
Just about any device that uses eMMC (basically has an onboard SSD) will use it. I'm pretty sure all Nexus devices from the Galaxy Nexus and newer are capable of it. Other than that, I'm not sure.
I'm pretty sure something's not right here.

At least they allow the public to download the OTA updates so that we can sideload them if we really wanted to.

I've been experiencing a strange phenomenon with my N7; Sometimes when I unlock my screen, the clock app is displayed and the furst 3 dozen or so cities are automatically checked in for the world clock feature. I have no idea what could be causing it. And the tablet is always in my LOS when it happens and it only happens in a few moments so nobody is playing with me as far as I know.
Also I finally disabled Google+ on my S4 because it was eating up 34% of my phone's battery when the screen was eating 16%.

Even if they didn't, whoever got the update could probably extract said OTA update off their device

I'd rather get it straight from Google though.

And not some guy off XDA.
"Hey guise, i got muh ota 4.4 update! I dumped it for ya! Remember to press the thanks button!"
What you're asking for is known as tablet UI, your TouchPad is currently using the phablet UI layout.
You can switch that shit without any problem in ParanoidAndroid, but I don't know if you can change it in any way just regularly.
I found a tablet ui to flash and it works.
Thanks, look at how sexy it is.

FYI, according to Paranoid Android ROM developers, Google has completely removed the original Tablet UI code starting from Android 4.4.
Say goodbye to that left-sided navigation.
So now the navigation buttons will be in the middle as seen on Nexus tablets?
How often do you guys do nandroid back ups?
I think I've only ever done one in my life. Bad habit, I know.
Yep, unless an OEM actually puts in the extra work to make their own navbar.
[editline]19th November 2013[/editline]
I better go nandroid right now.

That's before the official Nexus 4 OTAs. WTF? If I was waiting for the OTA, I'd get mad.
Apparently my phone's getting 4.4 from a CM developer. God the wait is gonna hurt.

...A Verizon non-Nexus device getting an update in a timely manner?...Have I accidentally jumped universes?
Is the Nexus style of where the navigation buttons and notifications are basically trying to keep a consistent ui to Android phones?
Isn't it odd that, while devs complain of piracy on Android, the top 10 paid apps are absolutely full of root apps which are bought by people who we can assume are fairly technical and, thus, more likely to pirate apps?

They'll be charging customers a 300$ download fee for downloading the update from their servers, don't worry.
It's through an in app purchase so it's a lot harder to refund if not impossible.
(talking about the bs download fees)
i love my att htc one x
4hrs13m takes it from 100% battery to 1%

I love how on the mobile site for Facebook it tells you to get the app to browse faster.

They finally fixed the stupid message, though.
It used to be "Get Facebook on your Google and browse faster", now it finally says "Get Facebook on your LG and browse faster".
DigiCal is giving away some extended trials for their weather services.

I don't see the point in making everything unified and then releasing Kit Kat where it is all different.
The tablet ui is great for a large tablet.
And where is my Nexus4 update.
