My mother has the 4.4 update, I don't :-(
Switch phones and data.
Nexus 7, no can do.
Who wants to bet on which of the two Nexus 4's in my house gets the Kitkat OTA first because neither have got it yet lol.
What's the downsides to people upgrading to 4.4 besides losing app ops and not all apps work on it? App ops was something that was useful but most people don't know about it and it was dropped in 4.4. A bunch of apps aren't optimized for 4.4, sounds like what happened with the jelly bean update.
I'm going to miss my bean flinger daydream :-(
I'm going to miss my bean flinger daydream :-(
EasterDroid is your solution. Altrough, its broken for me, but it includes old Eastereggs, like Nyandroid.
EasterDroid is your solution. Altrough, its broken for me, but it includes old Eastereggs, like Nyandroid.
Does it require root? Edit - nope! Awesome thanks. Edit edit - Ninja
Does it require root?
Nope it doesnt.

Or take the flashing script, remove the -w flag from the flash so it doesn't wipe the device before applying the update, and run it.
Ok this may be entirely placebo but i'm sure 4.4 is more aggressive unloading tabs. I noticed this first on my N7 (see earlier post) and checked on my N4 (still running 4.3 at the time) and I could certainly do more on the N4 before it started unloading tabs. I then flashed my N4 to 4.4, and it again then seems to unload tabs more often. I flashed the N7 back to 4.3, and sure enough it felt like I could do a lot more before tabs started getting unloaded. Probably its horrible placebo effect, but still it would make sense given how much google has said about geting 4.4s's RAM requirement down.
Who's idea was it to not ship the Nexus 5 with a screen protector, I'm shit scared to take it out. Other than that, amazing device!
Companies should just ship out devices with a factory applied screen protector, you can a dirt cheap one for 2 dollars on ebay and if people want to switch, they can.
So the Cyanogenmod installer doesn't work with the Rogers Galaxy S3 because they did something to the bootloader, according to a CM dev guess I'm going to learn how to do it manually
Still waiting for a somewhat reliable 4.4 OMNI rom. Can't wait for 4.4 feel on my phone.
the potato that is (edit is borked)
Companies should just ship out devices with a factory applied screen protector, you can a dirt cheap one for 2 dollars on ebay and if people want to switch, they can.
What's funny is that Sony had screen protectors applied on the device when got you opened the box. Even my phone got one. It wasn't particularly well placed on but good enough. Then I see HTC and Samsung devices not having this. What's even better is that inside the box included another screen protector, ready to apply and everything. The difference was that this one you had to apply and you could apply it correctly. It was also thicker and stickier than the protective film already on the device. Anyways you can get a screen protector for your device, whatever it is for a dollar each off eBay. I got a set of 5 for my phone a long time ago for a dollar.
The back button being on the left instead of one the right on my Nexus 7, is starting to get to me. Who the hell uses their device with the left hand? If it was on the right, you could use your device with one hand no problem.

Probably because it's a small phone and you can easily access either buttons all in one had regardless of which hand you're using. But either way, I find this configuration (back, home, menu) good.

I can use my phone and pretty much anyone else with my left hand just fine even though I use everything else with my right hand.
I've got no problem one-handing my phone, but a Nexus 7, you really do need the back button in an accessible location, instead of the recent apps button. It wouldn't be that bad, except LMT Launcher is a piece of shit in 4.4 that doesn't work.
Finally got rid of touchwiz and flashed a GPE ROM on my S4. Holy fuck it is so fast and smooth i love it
It better be Kangabean because I refuse to believe a better GPE ROM is even fucking possible. It's finally a ROM with all of the little details figured out, like (and this is a biggie for me) proper A2DP settings.
Just had a Google keyboard update and apparently they have put the added punctuation back according to the reviews but I don't see any changes. I just want to be able to do an apostrophe without going into a separate menu.
I just noticed that there's no way to change the size of the keyboard and the punctuation thing I was raging about several pages back is still there... Back to swiftkey. Also Google keyboard doesn't have keyboard height and size options. Time to send some feedback, again.
Hey does anyone remember what the link was to the modded steam with holo ui?
I still have the .apk around here somewhere, I could upload it later when I get back to my PC

It is so depressing to use and look at [t]https://lh5.ggpht.com/5s2mnjfia6t2W-_qpuh9fwHnIJ2Lb-mU_rgHuqUibNYCYWE09cmD8Ef6joGmJ2KxsqY-=h900[/t]
Is the only thing that's useful on the updated version bug fixes and stability improvements? Which is the most updated version that still keeps the blue goodness while still having a bunch of updates for fixes?

I had a notification about the keyboard updating so I looked at the play store and people were saying they brought back the added punctuation or something but I'm not seeing any changes. Oh well. In other news, got bored waiting for Google to reach my Nexus 7 with 4.4 so I'm finishing sideloading it as I type this message. Never done it before so I was pretty nervous but everything seems to be going smoothly.
