Is there any way I can update to later versions if I rooted my phone, or am I at the mercy of the phone manufacturer? I have an LG Optimus F3, and while I was able to root it easily compared to an Optimus L9, it seems like there are no custom ROMs anywhere.
The comment view is fucking horrible, and that's the most important function.
What's wrong with it? I like scrolling using the arrow buttons on the lower left and right.

If the L9 is any sort of example, unlocking it is really hard, hence the lack of roms.
What's wrong with it? I like scrolling using the arrow buttons on the lower left and right.
It goes into a stupid split-view mode where it shows the comments in a squashed view. When I'm reading comments, I'm reading comments, not looking at the damn subreddit.

Christ, the developer hid the settings menu into the sidebar instead of the menu, where it's supposed to be. No wonder I couldn't find the fucking thing.

$ some nerd shit /system/bin/sh: some: not found

on your COMPUTER, silly goose see?
Christ, the developer hid the settings menu into the sidebar instead of the menu, where it's supposed to be. No wonder I couldn't find the fucking thing.
So it works now?
So it works now?
I switched to the dev version, seems OK, I'll keep testing it.
has any one came across this bug in android 4.4 where u cant select a 3rd party video player to playback a video online, i just forces me to using some webplayer, no matter which browser i use. it works fine on 4.3 though
I switched to the dev version, seems OK, I'll keep testing it.
Dev version has some pretty sweet features and stuff. That reminds me, I should probably try reddit is fun and all of the others again.
So I'm thinking its time to retire the ole Captivate. We had a good run, but her age shows more every day and I think its time she be laid to rest. Because of this I'm mildly shopping for a [del]replacement[/del]successor. I don't want anything too nuts, the S3 and the S4 don't interest me in the slightest, despite their power. Honestly I was thinking an S2, but they're somewhat hard to get ahold of it would seem and because of it being an S-anything its going to be somewhat expensive. I'd go for the nexus 4 or 5, but the lack of an SD slot is a straight deal breaker for me.

Forgive me Lord Duarte for I have sinned. Today I went to the store and drew a penis on the home screen with Chrome, YouTube and Google Drive on a nexus 7 2013. It's a pretty nice tablet, though. I also got a look at the Note 10.1 of this year. For fuck's sake why does that thing have 4.3? My Note 10.1 is still on 4.1.1.
So App Ops isn't gone in 4.4, it's just hidden. http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/11/25/new-app-app-ops-lives-on-in-android-4-4-can-be-unleashed-with-app-ops-from-color-tiger-and-enhanced-with-root/
/r/androidcirclejerk really needs to get with the times and realize that the Moto X is better Nexus than Nexus.

I NOTIFY ACTIVELY!
What carrier are you on?
GSM. T-Mobile and/or ATT towers.
Really, that cut on android ram usage on 4.4 REALLY does count. My phone can now multitask properly :v:
GSM. T-Mobile and/or ATT towers.
This is the one area I like being on Verizon. If you're in the market for a cheap, maybe used phone, you can get a Droid on ebay and it'll work. Honestly, I wouldn't do the S2. It's too old at this point. I would say go NExus, but if you really need an SD slot that badly... Does software matter? If so, you could look at the support for, say, the CM installer and check out an older phone on that list. I would think that would be a good way to find a fairly high-quality device.

Not too expensive, zippy little 2 core, sd slot, all that fun stuff.
/r/androidcirclejerk really needs to get with the times and realize that the Moto X is better Nexus than Nexus.
You gotta admit, that takes some serious persuasion/power to have Kitkat pushed so soon to all major US carriers except Sprint. I'm still amazed Verizon rolled it out first.

Is there a reason people hate BaconReader?
Is there a reason people hate BaconReader?
I believe it got bought out by a company and the apps development slowed down and isn't as good as it used to be.
I believe it got bought out by a company and the apps development slowed down and isn't as good as it used to be.
Development is definitely slow but I just love the look and feel of it. I probably will ditch it in the future though because there's still 4.4 bugs that I reported a couple weeks ago that they still haven't fixed.
Really, that cut on android ram usage on 4.4 REALLY does count. My phone can now multitask properly :v:
How much did it cut? My s3 4G (with 2gb RAM, 1.75 useable) uses about 800mb with all apps killed.
