Hey Action Launcher is half off for $1.99. Is it any good to pick up? It seems like a lot of people are buying it. There's also the free version to try.
Nice, the tinted statusbar xposed module works with KitKat.
Looks pretty nice.
Action Launcher is worth it and also now there is a free version.
Does anyone have a clue why my S3 is refusing to change Lockscreen wallpaper?
I choose the image I want and it prompts me to crop the image (even when I don't want to) and even when I do crop the image it gives me a little message saying "Saving cropped image" and it just goes back to the options menu to select which screen I want to change. The cropped image is there, and when I try to change wallpaper with that instead it just tells me to crop it again.

I hate how it tells you to buy premium to make new shutters even though I removed one from one of the apps to test it

Shutters are like the only reason to get, everything else feels like a half-baked Apex/Nova.
So you'd say it's worth the now $2 sales price?
What are shutters?
It's worth it. I use it all the time.

Action Launcher was never intended to have most of the features it has but the developer said everyone was leaving 1-2 star ratings just because they couldn't change app icons, screen padding etc. So he said he was pretty much forced to add those features which might explain why they feel "half baked".
[editline]5th December 2013[/editline]
He wanted to create innovative features rather than copy the rest.
Low ratings are usually retarded, like a lot of the reviews for Swiftkey Tablet Legacy are all complaining that they get a separate version instead of the "real" one
It's the same thing, it's just the alternative is manually downloading updates the slow way

I still haven't found the perfect launcher. Every launcher I have come across has pros and cons and obvious flaws.

I use Nova and nothing else
I don't try anything because if I do, I'm gonna be torn between the two :v:

Nova has horrible widget resizing and changing grid density fucks with icon sizes. Can't win with Nova.
Who here uses evernote? I stopped using it months ago, I should probably start using it again for school notes.
I use it, but more as an archival utility than a notetaking one. To-do lists and reminders go in Keep, recipes, purchase receipts, warranty info, etc go in Evernote.

I've never had a problem with either of those, and I've done both a lot

Widgets lock to grid, can't resize naturally. Have to set grid rows to 10, icons go extremely tiny. Set icon size to 150%, icons go normal size but dock icons go gigantic.

Turn off Dock and just put the icons you had on the dock at the bottom of the screen?
GEL master race! That's all I really need in a launcher (and more, since there's the left-sided Now screen).

GEL's only nice feature is Google Now on the left hand side, everything else sucks balls if you're used to Apex.
I could never get used to Apex or Nova (or any other third party launcher for that matter) because both either had features that I couldn't turn off and pissed me off, or didn't have basic launcher features (in case of Apex the app drawer didn't reset to the first page after launching an app or turning the phone screen off and on, which the stock, GEL and Nova launchers do).
I've been using Nova for the longest, seems to work fine.
Then I tried Aviate and it took forever to load but it was very smooth when it did.
Now I'm trying action launcher and there's a lot of "Upgrade to Pro" buttons and you can't add new Shutters but you can set them up when you start it new (so clearing the app data and starting fresh).
The sale ends next week so I'll give this app a try before maybe getting the Pro unlocker, or possibly sticking with my 10 cent Nova Launcher
I've only had this app a day, but I think it's brilliant. The entire interface is nice, a small message appears at the bottom of your screen when an event is coming up, you can set up how many minutes before the event you want a notification, you can have multiple notifications per event.

I fucking hate Android Central right now.
Not only does clicking on any links to lets say a game goes to the browser version of said article from Play Newstand. But when you do get to the browser version, there's no link to click on said game to go to the Play Store.
Just look at the recent Assasins creed Pirates app article.
"article"
I've been nothing but happy with Apex Launcher, it does everything I want and nothing I don't. I can switch the app drawer to vertical continuous which always bugged the hell out of me on JB and recreate Knock Off by launching the Screen Off and Lock app. It also looks incredibly amazing as 5x6, edited dpi and using Pie/Halo. You really have to just see it on my phone with almost no bezels since a screenshot does no justice.

Nova almost had too many features for me, I wanted a good efficient launcher with features like ADW did on CM7. I also wanted a launcher which used less resources for my Desire Z and Apex did a little better than Trebuchet.

I've only ever used those launchers to get a stock experience with a few changes, like transparent app drawers and stuff. Now 90% of those features are covered by GEL.

I see no need for this when Google calendar does the same exact thing. It syncs with G calendar so the only advantage is a different athletic style.
Google Play Music update allows you to select your SD card for saving music now.
Ol' Pie, your problem was solved literally a day later without doing anything. :v:

Google's been damn lazy with implementing that.
For my phone it automatically went onto the sd card anyways
