My bank's app looks pretty nice.
Oooh that does look nice, and a nice tablet interface too. Bank I use here does look better now, no more iOS style buttons forced anywhere, not sure about the family on the beach wallpaper though.
I'd like to try out the QR code banking that's just starting up here with Commbank, but not many billers are using it yet. Meant to just scan the QR code on the bill from the app and everything is filled out, just need to pay.
My Nexus 7 2012 has got a major performance increase with 4.4.2
Also MS released an app recently called Remote Desktop which Windows 8.1 fully supports
Idk maybe it's because I have a N7 2012 but its really glitchy like slow and unusable:

You can't see it there but it is, compare it to RDP on my laptop (the one im using it right now) its terrible, can't play decent video over LAN so I'll give it some time. MS doesn't even support fullscreen mode only semi fullscreen, which means when you use this shit on a phone like my nexus 4 or the nexus 5 and you go to open the charms menu you hit the home button
I tried a different app called aFreeRDP which seems to be stuck in Android 2.2/2.3 times and uses a pointer to navigate, which is okay i guess but it doesnt support audio

It doesn't even support fullscreen mode (even semi fullscreen) so it is really confusing and a little awful
It works with Windows 7 right?
it should do, its just using RDP

rdp was never good at video
I'm wondering what ports it would use and if you can change them.
I haven't really touched remote computing and it would be useful to use when I'm out of home.
I got my Nexus 5 (White) today. I have to say. I'd fuck the display if it were a person. It's SO DAMN BEAUTIFUL.
Rdp PC on my windows 7 laptop works fine with video

I tried it and it doesn't seem that bad. About on par for RDP. Though it is a bit slower than the desktop client when connected to an 8.1 host. I'm assuming that its not taking advantage of the improvements of RDP in Win 8.
I say this because its exactly the same as the desktop version when I connect to a Windows 7 host. Good ol slow and laggy RDP. Doesn't seem to help that you can't set any connection optimzation options like ignoring the desktop wallpaper.
Fuck it, getting Nexus 5, it's not like I wanted to call people while in the shower anyway.

it uses 3389 and you can change it in the registry somewhere.

Of course not related to the threat of being thrown off the building.
Cough.
Anyone know of a Stable 4.4 i9300 rom?

Oh quiet, it's not high enough to reach even half your terminal velocity, it wouldn't hurt that much.
My bank, who in the past gave us this app, has been lately celebrating that it's latest app can do Android NFC payments. What they don't tell you is it's just for the Galaxy S4 and the service costs yearly.....fucking sigh.
They had a chance, one chance, to be the first bank in Australia to use Android 4.4's Tap & Pay feature, but no. $8billion profit a year and they can't program.
I think my eyes have permanent damage from that app, jesus christ.
Luckily my future bank (about to switch and delete my current old account next week) has a pretty good looking app, even with Google's "Pull to refresh" ActionBar and slide-out navigation (although it doesn't have the hamburger icon).
My banks app is just a webpage.
My Nexus dispatched

It'll apparently be here monday
Holy shit google doesn't fuck about with their shipping :v:
I really want to root my nexus 7 but I don't want to lose my stuff. Argh!

I don't mind reinstalling all my apps it's just things like game saves and chat logs
Some game saves are on the sd card (not on Nexus devices) or the internal storage where you can easily back it up. Same with chat logs. And you can probably sync the progress using Google play games or something.
I'll look into it then, thanks.

Well, at least it's not a straight rip from iOS that is unstable as fuck. Although, I do wish that Halifax would provide us with an actual mobile app, preferably Holo.

On the subject of design of apps. It bugs the shit out of me how 99% of apps follow iOS's design guidelines, yet about 25% of Android apps follow the guidelines.

Because the play store literally has no moderation or review process.

adblock stuff is useful
I thought I could do without rooting but I discovered today I can't even use a memory stick + OTG without buying an app.
