Gonna have to completely disagree here, the menu button is utterly useless. I have Galaxy Nexus, which only pops-up a menu button in apps designed for GB that use it (which for me is only the facebook app), otherwise on a phone without a physical menu button it just pops-up in the action bar at the top of the app, which actually gives you visual feedback that the app has settings available rather than the crapshoot you get with a physical menu button. The recent apps button is incredibly useful, since I can switch between active apps in less than a second, having to hold down the home button makes it feel faster to just go back to the homescreen and open it there (Hence the reason you almost never use the functionality, and I use it constantly). The menu button is one of the main reasons why I would never buy an S4 unless I was putting CM10 on it, since you can rebind the buttons.
I switch apps only when i get a notification. Else i turn off the screen. Get a new notification, screen on, reply etc, screen off. I just have no use for it. Also my point was more about the back button than the menu button.
Sorry what? I fucking love that button layout. Fuck having to go over two other buttons for the most used button (back), and fuck a dedicated button for recent apps, I use it almost never and I use my menu button all the time.
Weird, for me I almost never use menu because I instinctively press the menu buttons in the application.
For the price point, I'd rather get a nexus 4 and save up money.
I hate sprint wasn't in my area. Any recommendation on service providers? I really don't want Verizon but if I have to I guess I will.
Weird, for me I almost never use menu because I instinctively press the menu buttons in the application.
Physical button is three times as close to my thumb as most app menu buttons, also sometimes i can't reach the app menu button because it's so far up my screen.
in short it's down to preference and you don't have to get the GS4 if you don't want to C:
[t]http://imgur.com/Uu6SQ47.png[/t] Edit: maths. I can't calculate for shit.
I know it's a bit late, but what app is this?
... so no Android 4.3? Huh.
... so no Android 4.3? Huh.
There are two days left and last time they did have two keynotes.
There are two days left and last time they did have two keynotes.
Two keynotes were done today.
Two keynotes were done today.
And I made no implication that there would only be two for this Google I/O.
And I made no implication that there would only be two for this Google I/O.
Fair enough.
My potato has a menu button so I basically press it all the time. And plus, most of the menus are at the bottoms anyways.
I have a physical menu-button, so I actually use it.
Which is facetious. I have a menu button too, I almost never touch it anyways. The only time I actually use it is when I'm exiting chats from Trillian, and that program is basically stuck in Gingerbread.
What are the odds all the sensors and gizmos are still on the Google S4? Hell, what are the odds it's the exact same hardware so it'd make CM10.1 for the US S4 variants that much better? I'm excited for an in-house IR blaster app.

So basically it's a dumb phone to buy when you can just get a ported version of the Google S4 ROM on a GS4.

I doubt there'd be many changes, especially if they didn't explicitly give details on anything different.
It *might* have a Google branded backplate but that's no reason to pay $450 more :v:
It *might* have a Google branded backplate but that's no reason to pay $450 more :v:
What if.. what if it were matte?
oh god I was admiring the mobile music app so much that I forgot to check the web app [IMG_thumb]http://i.minus.com/jhLPxPDi8s0TO.png[/IMG_thumb] OH GOD HELP I CAN'T STOP CUMMING OH GOOODDDDD
What if.. what if it were matte?
Wouldn't matter to me since I'm getting the Spigen I posted like two pages back for mine
Wouldn't matter to me since I'm getting the Spigen I posted like two pages back for mine
I've been so tempted to grab that, but I just can't justify spending $30 on something I might not keep on. Let me know how it feels when you get it.
I still technically should purchase the phone first, but I have set the money aside.
Are you planning on grabbing it on contract, or somewhere else?
yeah I have an upgrade and $100 gift card through Verizon, so I should only have to pay like $136 out of pocket. [editline]15th May 2013[/editline] it's going to be one hell of an upgrade from my iPhone 4, I'm so excited.
... so no Android 4.3? Huh.
it will be in one of the android related presentations later.
Hell, even a GS3 would be a massive step up.
I guess. I don't really mind the speed of the iPhone 4 really, I mind Verizon's slow 3G and the tiny screen. And my proximity sensor not working, and the camera being damn awful.
SwiftKey recently updated, now I can actually use my keyboard properly with the modifiers, yay.
