Longer than that, at least a year.
jesus gary, [t] that shit
Need to find a 4.4 Rom so I can have a transparent status bar.

Thank you greatly!
Wanting to use Widgetlocker but half the time it doesn't even appear. It gets annoying after a while.

Wow that's actually pretty cool and you get more screen space.
So basically you Swipe up from the bottom like on BlackBerry 10?
I only liked pie controls like on the stock browser and now I miss it because there was no stock browser only chrome.
So the potato fund a while back currently has $75 USD.
Super thanks to everyone who pledged. You can still pledge if you'd like, just send me a PM.
Now clearly a nexus 5 isn't going to happen so I'm aiming for a Moto G and Christmas is near so I can probably find a good deal on boxing day. I just want a better phone that can actually make phone calls without lagging. Being unable to call important numbers during important times is very frustrating.
As an incentive to pledge, I'll be sending a video to everyone who pledges. This video will feature my potato phone being destroyed whenever the phone actually dies. You can throw in some (legal) ideas for the destruction.
Am I just imagining it, or does KitKat boost battery life through the roof?

I can donate £0.65, will that help?
(legal)
Guess I have to find someone else with a potato phone to find out if it can kill people..

Yep, any amount would help

Battery on HTC stock kitkat are about the same or slightly better for me. I'm not complaining, though. HTC one battery times are mighty fine.

Maybe it's the fact that I did a data wipe before flashing KitKat, but still. Deep sleep actually seems to work properly for me for the first time ever.
I'm definitely noticing improvements to deep sleep with KitKat on my N4.

It's rage inducing, I'm sure it can.
I learnt something yesterday with my phone.
I'm running a Kitkat ROM on the phone, and I tried out ART, and it actually works fine without any problems.
Except for one problem.
If someone calls me, the dialer instantly crashes, so my phone can't take phone calls with ART.
Had to go back to Dalvik, sigh. I've got an idea that might fix it, but I honestly don't care enough right now.
Has WidgetLocker been updated to allow transparent status bar?
Well, you are using Internet Explorer (or Facepunch seems to think so), so you liking it is expected.
Only the first two screenshots, then it just got nasty

Is thermite legal in Canada?
I can't get over how well Kit Kat runs on my phone this soon after being available. I thought it was gonna be a trainwreck like 4.2
The Moto G is great if you do not care about LTE. Which is a lot of people.
Quite a lot of people don't get LTE in their area, and I'm one of them. Unless you live in or near a large city or populated area, LTE is still a bit shaky even in the US. I'm not too fussed. Besides, I'd blow through my data cap in a matter of hours if I had LTE. :v:

Verizon has a pretty widespread LTE network now. Its pretty much everywhere except the most remote areas which barely have 3G as it is. Then again, you have to be on Verizon.

Well yeah, Verizon is the exception. They have the best coverage. But good god are their prepaid plans expensive...
I kind of dislike how the Moto G won't work on wind mobile...
It will if you buy the one from the States.

Ah OK. So the only difference is the radios?

No idea what a Blackberry 10 even looks like but yeah, you swipe up over the bottom bezel. It actually works very accurately outside of occasionally intruding into a fullscreen game that wants you to press on the edge of the screen. However, it's better than accidentally pressing on-screen/capacitive buttons since it doesn't make you back out of the app just because it came up.
It's amazing on the almost bezel-less LG G2, it also lets you run a non-square homescreen layout. With a bit of tweaking of DPI and 5x6 it has more real estate than pretty much any phone out there.

Originally I bought the phone with the premise that it has so much screen space that the on-screen buttons wouldn't bother me but I soon shrank them with PA and later that day just started using PIE and HALO.

Verizon's LTE coverage is really kind of stunning, especially with a grandfathered unlimited plan.
Oh and here's some more wonderful T-Mobile LTE vs Residential Comcast on a speedtest server which isn't hosted by Comcast.

I'd give it 2-3 years before LTE networks trash the hell out of all residential physical connections in decently populated areas. I can't wait for cell providers to capitalize on offering proper high speed internet in Rural areas as well as building serious infrastructure into covering any sort of populated area.
Cable is dead and fiber isn't cost effective, I welcome Comcast having a fire lit under it's ass for becoming a cable monopoly.
