I'm giving my old Galaxy S2 to my younger brother. How would I go about resetting the phone back to factory including removing the root on the phone? Basically resetting it like it's a newly bought phone.
Find a stock ROM and flash it. Be careful on resetting factory settings, I've heard that on stock some people have bricked their phones on the gs2 while doing that because of some freak bug.
The new Nexus wireless charger is sold on the German Play Store now.
I am fucking tempted to get my german friend to send me one. Can anyone tell me if the german description mentions a cable+european wall plug? IIRC the charger sold in the UK had a US charger in the description.
It comes with a European plug apparently so no UK or US plug coz im planning on buying one of these wireless chargers

All I know is something to do with Odin.
AOKP is literally more stable than Samsung's stock 4.3 flavor.
Fuck off, Assmung.

Flash a stock Samsung Rom a good place would be to check sammobile they have the biggest Samsung Stock Rom collection. if your Rom was carrier specific like having a special boot up animation i suggest you flash back the Exact version im not sure if Australian devices have that though hope that i helped atleast a little bit.
Why is it tat sometimes my Galaxy SII's touchscreen sometimes works great and sometimes TERRIBLY, ike right fucking now. its slow, with a slow retouch rate and a pitiful lag issue.
is temperature an issue? being plugged into a wall?

Well that's it, now I'm pretty much going to buy one after the holidays.
Oh and here's some more wonderful T-Mobile LTE vs Residential Comcast on a speedtest server which isn't hosted by Comcast.

Here's T-Mobile LTE vs Comcast on Comcast's server.
-snap-
I'd give it 2-3 years before LTE networks trash the hell out of all residential physical connections in decently populated areas. I can't wait for cell providers to capitalize on offering proper high speed internet in Rural areas as well as building serious infrastructure into covering any sort of populated area.
Cable is dead and fiber isn't cost effective, I welcome Comcast having a fire lit under it's ass for becoming a cable monopoly.
Yeah, but again data caps (this is the big one) and overall cost to end-users (not so much of an issue depending on carrier) are an issue, not to mention LTE coverage by everyone but Verizon kind of sucks in places that aren't cities...and even then, it sucks in cities sometimes. My mom's SIII (on T-Mobile) wouldn't get LTE in Baltimore more than half the time :v:
My brother's Nexus 5 just went into what people are calling a "NexusComma", he'll be sending it back to Google, but, does anyone know what the cause is?
For those who don't know what it is, the phone will just turn off and not turn on ever again, no matter what you do.
Thinking about buying chromecasts for my extended family for christmas and bundling netflix credit.
I'll include printouts of instructions and links for setup and everything, so even the most tech-tarded of them will be able to use it.

$20 gets you completely unlimited data on T-Mobile, $10 gets a 2.5gb at full speed and unlimited at "2G" which does Pandora/Audio streaming perfectly still. T-Mobile doesn't incur any extra charges for anything but going over your minutes(who actually does this) and international. You can get 200mb of free data on your tablet for life as well.
Anyone who's still wilfully using Verizon in an area where a good alternative is available is an idiot. Verizon has brainwashed their customers to stay where they are with their still grandfathered data plans just so they can hold onto what customers they've had. If your carrier charges you for a data cap then you just need to change carriers. While many carriers aren't an option to certain people, easily far more than half of people have better carriers as an alternative and blindly choose not to take it.

I remember having an issue like that with my T-mobile Pulse. Whenever it was charging the touchscreen went completely bonkers. The Pulse was a piece of shit though, I wouldn't be surprised if it had a manufacturing defect.
Are you running stock or a custom ROM? If you're running something bleeding edge it may just be running out of memory and trying to kill the keyboard.
Korean LG G2 slated to have 4.4 by the end of this year and other variants to be rolled out by the end of Q1 2014.

It was definitely because it was plugged in. I had it charging for class and was using it at the same time but after unplugging it it was fine.
I have no real understanding of electricity but is it possible that the way the touchscreen detects skin via some sort of static is interfered with by being plugged into the wall?
[editline]16th December 2013[/editline]
More of a technical question at this point since it's very clear plugging it in is the problem here.

I would honestly move to T-Mobile in a heartbeat because of how cheap it is. However, they are useless in my area, so its either Verizon or AT&T.

My guess is as good as yours. Some of the ROMs for the Pulse had patches to increase the sensitivity of the touchscreen since it was pretty shit normally and those ROMs obviously suffered more from the charging issue than regular ones.

Its very possible. I've heard of that issue before. On several phones in fact. Generally if the USB port is poorly designed, when plugged in it can interfere with the touchscreen. On my old Eris, it the USB port was prone to breaking in a way that started messing with the trackball, causing uncontrollable scrolling.
I have my nexus 4 on Kit Kat, and want to get the xposed framework. It is totally stock at the moment.
What is the best way to get the xposed framework on it ?

But the issue with T-Mobile, is that they are AWFUL in my area. Like, I'm lucky to get _Edge_ around here. 3G is spotty as fuck, and LTE I assume even more so. I'm on T-Mobile's $30 100 mins, 5GB of data a month plan. Prepaid.

Is it rooted? If so, just install the Xposed app and install the framework from that, easy as pie. If not, go get it rooted!

Root it and install it as normal, it had 4.4 support now. The only thing is that you can't use ART with it.
My friend (elderly) gave me her Xperia Z so I could get her sim setup.
Because I have been getting over 2 nights up straight, watching my dog (he has neurological issues and I am nursing him currently) I was really tired and accidentally put a micro sim adapter in the sim slot the wrong way up. Its now well and truly stuck in there. It started out being stuck half way (the hole wasnt colliding with the pins though so hopefully they arent damaged? then i pushed it in completely in the hope of maybe hitting an ejecting mechanism, no such luck. Im taking it to a local repair shop. Im really worried (she knows and isnt worried lol) that one of the pins might have been snapped off? I have tried shaking it about and nothing is rattling or falling out at all (maybe theres not enough room for it to do so even if it was the case) so maybe thats a good start. I did apply a bit of gentle force to pull it out but I didnt feel anything break or hear any snaps.
If I did break a pin, how much do you think it will cost for an independent phone shop to repair it for me? I know the actual sim modules cost about 6 EUR so it wouldnt be too much (maybe about £20?) I dont mind paying the fee because its through my negligence. :v:

Indeed
I can connect to a bunch of servers and I can easily run an ftp server off my phone.
Installed the Xposed framework on my Nexus 5, must admit, the tinted status bar module is amazing...

Does anyone know how to preserve stock launcher and lockscreen transparency with Tinted Status Bar? I've got horrid black status and navigation buttons.

yes, set the status bar and nav bar opacity all the way to the left

[editline]17th December 2013[/editline]
the lockscreen stays black unless youre on the homescreen, then its transparent. changing the opacity doesnt do anything.

I had that issue with my Nexus 7, whenever plugged in the touchscreen was really sensitive, like it took me nearly an hour to just do the inital setup. Tried a different charger and everything works fine.
