Whats the easiest way to root the N7 2012?
I think the toolkit would work for you.
You will need that and SuperSU
I also just got the nexus 7. I installed Carmageddon from an old humble bundle and just wow. The frame rate is great! While it runs fine on my S3, it's as smooth as silk on the Nexus 7. Also Chromecast is a pretty neat little device.
Anyone know how to check for wakelocks and battery draining things with Better battery stats? My phone seems to be quite awake when the screen is off.
how can i enable 32bit colors in gta sa?
i'm getting tired of 16bit crosses, dots, green-ish stuff
Got a Nexus 7 for Christmas. Should I put cyanogen mod on it? I am used to having it on my S4 and am debating whether or not to put it on.
Feel it out as is first. No reason to root and ROM it if it suits your needs as is.

I would unlock the bootloader first. That way if you want to, it will be fairly painless to install Cyanogen Mod since unlocking the bootloader wipes the entire device.
So I just tried debugging why doesn't Google+ pickup my photos from the last month and isn't auto-backing them up.
Took over an hour of these actions, each one repeated several times (in several different orders):
Clearing data, uninstalling G+ updates
Logging in, letting auto upload work
Realize it still didn't pick up everything
Delete auto-backed photos that I still have on my phone
Emptying trash
Clearing app data, updating app
I'd like to dedicate this post as fuck you to the G+ servers and developers of the auto-backup system. You're not gonna stop me in achieving what I want.

Just unlocked and rooted my N7. Is there any easy way of copying a nandroid backup to PC?
Nvm, just moved the file to a folder I can see on my laptop and copied from there.

That was the first thing I did. I am thinking I'm going to put cyanogen on it.
How do you resize the keyboard with Swiftkey?
Looking through Cyanogenmod hoping to find the skill to fix a bug. This is one thing I found:
<!-- Don't name config resources like this. It should look like config_annoyDianne -->
<bool name="config_annoy_dianne">true</bool>
I seriously want to know if this config option does something.
Had to flash a custom Rom to let me have a persistent menu button. Use it too much to be without it, but atleast it feels faster on this Rom and I can use Xposed.

Anyone know of any great looking UCCW Skins? Found one that looked great but it was locked so couldn't edit the names of the programs on it.
How do you resize the keyboard with Swiftkey?
press the swiftkey button on the lower left of the keyboard when it shows up, or tap and hold the button for some time

I thought Xposed had the GravityBox addon that could add navigation buttons, and pretty much anything else?
if you have root, all you need to do is install an app that will enable the navigation buttons. It simply changes a setting from 0 to 1.
Use soft key enabler
Already flashed a custom rom, did it as soon as I rooted. Didn't feel like staying on Stock.
Anyone know why MTP on the Nexus 5 is so uselessly broken? I'm using ADB push right now as an alternative which works fine, but Windows 7 refuses to recognize that my Nexus 5 exists in MTP.
So I was looking at Moto Gs on eBay and I can't help but see this listing and what the condition specifies...

Need to find a UCCW skin for this so it doesn't look as empty.

does unlocking the bootloader really wipe the device? my padfone wasn't wiped when I unlocked its bootloader earlier this year, but that might be because asus came out with its own unlocking tool?

But... urgh... underscore and camel case together??? That's somehow better than consistent underscores?? My brain. My poor rattled brain.
Because readability, it would make it more readable with the underscore as there's more spacing than camel case since it would be pretty close.

Yes, but they're saying that it should use camelCase.
Apparently my service provider Tracfone (for cheap fucks like me) has finally released a line of smartphones, some or all of which use Android. Unfortunately I don't know anything about smartphones or which one to get, but I have found a link talking about the Tracfone offerings here.
I hardly use my phone, thus my usage of Tracfone. I have a surplus of talk and text minutes on my dumbphone, but I'm worried about the data plan. I'm wondering if data limits averaging in a few hundreds of MB would be enough for occassional use? Also what phone should I go with?
I'm a nexus warrior now.
Nexus 5 32GB black coming in a couple of days.
I did this and all of a sudden my Nexus 7 dropped about a million frames:

Shit was weird, it's fine during normal gameplay, but it suddenly just did a massive lag spike when I ordered that attack.
Also, that AI got so steamrolled, it was kind of embarrassing.
The Nexus 5's buttons are almost painfully sharp.

oh god don't get a samsung low-end phone for the love of god
never do that
if you must get one low-end phone it must be the Moto G because despite its extremely low cost its a ton better than phones that cost over twice its price

Check that your using the right drivers. Windows is absolutely horrible at figuring out whether or not to use the ADB or MTP drivers and often mixes them up.

All Nexus devices (since the GNex at least) will wipe themselves once you issue the command to unlock over fastboot. It will issue a prompt notifying you of this and will ask you to confirm "are you sure?" on the device itself. Its a security measure as you can get full ADB access once the device has an alternative recovery installed. It effectively makes it impossible (or at least much harder) to grab personal information from the device without knowing your lockscreen info.
