Got a Nexus 7 2012 for Christmas. Feels nice to use. Got it updated to 4.4.2, should I root and flash a new rom?

Quick homescreen and lockscreen on my Nexus 7.

what wallpapers that?
Looks like Google Play Music All Access has shit the bed on my TF700. "Could not play the stream you requested" on every single song, even those I have downloaded. I've cleared data, uninstalled updates, reinstalled, and it still doesn't work. I'm not paying for this bullshit much longer. And no, it's not the WiFi.
I've chosen Moon+ Reader, if anyone is curious.
Oh, and btw - is there some fix for Vice City crashing after a moment of driving a car on phones that are "officially not supported" but have game working otherwise fluently (speaking about HTC Sensation now).
I use Comic Rack (?) for CBR and CBZ.
Longest streak of not hitting either 100% or 0% battery:

Android seems to have stopped recording mobile signal about half way strangely enough, never seen a battery graph this long before.
You eventually stop caring but it would feel weird in your pockets anyways
I try to put my keys and phone in opposite pockets but I don't panic(anymore) if I don't.
Also, what the hell, Google play's been giving away free stuff all month long and I haven't seen anyone mention it. :v:
Such as what?
Such as what?
Free movies and TV shows that are only available in the US.
Yeah that's why. Only in the US.
Boat loads of songs, and the whole Kanye Yeezus album(oh boy!)
I like the Nexus 5. It has a nice battery life. 85% after 1h25min.
Edit:
22% at 5h of semi-active use, I'm impressed.

Probably also USA only

So nothing interesting then?
Do you know any good .pdf, .epub, .mobi, .cbr and .cbz readers?
Aldiko might. I'm not sure. If you run out of luck you could always convert as a last resort using the PC app Caliber.
I DID IT!

I fixed the stylus eraser not working! Seriously, though, this is an Android bug that is apparent in all android versions > 4.1. I'm now looking into submitting this to Google (rather than Cyanogenmod)
Google Play is giving away 'Yeezus' and top singles from 2013.
Too bad it's seems to be only for countries that support Google play music

That's considered good!? I'm so glad I have a ZeroLemon battery for my S3. Lasts 20-24 hours with "semi-active use", and 13-14 hours with heavy use. And it can do over 100 hours on standby.
I'll have to check if zero lemon sells RAZR maxx batteries when I get the kit to retrofit the bigger battery in my RAZR.
I think battery life is completely dependant on who's using the phone. I mean I kept hearing the nexus 5's battery was shite but I think it's great. Much better than my old phone and as long as it lasts from when I wake up to when I get home I'm not fussed. Some people prefer batteries where they can get a whole day screen on time and days and days of standby.

If you use the phone the battery is going to drain fast, it's p much the same with every phone. The issue with Nexus 5 was that it was draining shitloads of battery even on standby, but I believe that's fixed now.
Also yeah, I'd think that a lot people prefer batteries that last longer?

Fuck. They only sell batteries for Samsung's? :(

Surprisingly enough it actually kinda works. The buttons are way too small on Nexus 7 though.
I'm now officially a Nexus warrior. Got my phone way earlier than expected.
Anyone got any ringtone/notification suggestions?

I like Titan for my notifications and Umbriel for my ringtone.

You just need a bluetooth keyboard, a bluetooth mouse, and you're good to go
It makes me happy to see so many new Nexus warriors in this thread :')
I just use Quickoffice and Drive on my tf700

Make it LibreOffice and then we'll talk.
So my father managed to kill his GS2 plus' battery after 3 months of use even after I told him from the start to never let it discharge completely.
Now it won't load anymore and is stuck at 5% then goes back down if the phone is turned on. Is there a way to fix that or would I need to find a replacement for the battery?

See if getting him to boot into the bootloader for a bit works.
