got my invite as well, but won't have desktop internet access until tomorrow morning! :suicide:
I didn't really understand the part of clicking on places and it'd show something else. For Google Maps.
I got mine too. I got on it and it suggested that I find the nearest Taco Bell. This is the best thing ever.
Anything interesting and/or new in the I/O yet today?
Guys, serious business here. The button of my headset starts a fucking call with the last person I called. I can't find an option anywhere and Google comes up with three dollar apps to customize your headset button. Am I doomed? This is retarded.
I noticed that too. I was trying to skip a song and didn't realize I was calling somebody. It's gotta be a bug, I swear.
Only problem i'v had with the headset button is it switching media players instead of skipping ahead one song. Even if the other players have not been used in days it does this sometimes. Was listening to an audiobook in Google Music, went to skip ahead a bit because i'd gone back by mistake, and got an ear full of Syrian warfare. Bit unexpected

Get JAYS Headset Control (FREE). Then slide the dial thing to "ADVANCED", click "SETTINGS", and then click "HTC REDIAL FIX".
the last good sonic game was released for android today https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sega.sonic1&referrer=utm_source%3Dandroidcentral%26utm_medium%3Dblog%26utm_campaign%3Dbloglink
The album art is a bit borked. And Google Maps highlights everything I could ever want, Home Bargains, Game and Mcdonalds.
Wow, that's a dark screenshot.
Wow, that's a dark screenshot.
I had screen filter on as I was lying in bed in the dark, crying to myself Jokes I was having a wank
Deep Has anyone tried all access? Can you cache files on the phone or Internet Access only?
In the presentation I saw a keep on phone button so.
Kinda going back and forth. I could get the Note 2 for the same price, but it has obvious drawbacks compared to the GS3, mainly in screen resolution, quality and slightly slower hardware. But it's got a massive battery and the S-Pen, which is probably more useful than Air View and Air Gestures. The Droid DNA also went free but... it's not the HTC One, and I've had issues with HTCs in the past, so that's not really a thing.
Kinda going back and forth. I could get the Note 2 for the same price, but it has obvious drawbacks compared to the GS3, mainly in screen resolution
EDIT: oh S4, I'll update this post on my opinion in a bit
Whoops, totally meant the S4. My bad.
Went to the AT&T store to look at the GS4 because I was curious about it. The employee guides me to where I can play around with one, but I soon notice that something is not right. I ask him if people have been having trouble telling them apart, and he says yes. I ask him to show a few GS4 features and he looks at the phone, confused. I get confused too for a second. I lock it and unlock it and it does not say Life Companion. We were both looking at the GS3 that was right next to the GS4. They are virtually indistinguishable. Anyway the screen was great on the GS4 but it is ugly as hell and extremely unpleasant to hold, moreso than the GS3 in both cases.
Really though is the Droid DNA worth it at all? It's got the 5 inch 1080p display, quad core, 4G LTE, but it's also part of Verizon's god awful Droid parts. It's the difference between a $200 device and a free device, but I do have a $100 gift card for Verizon making the GS4 and Note II both $100 + fees. [editline]16th May 2013[/editline] Eww, it doesn't have a MicroSD slot. This could be a dealbreaker.
Whoops, totally meant the S4. My bad.
Ah, okay. Comparing different generation phones is kinda hard. S4 still has PenTile, but it's a different layout that's apparently a lot sharper and the PPI makes up for the decreased chroma. But the Note II has a great display for last generation. Honestly, it is kind of personal choice depending on what you want to use it for and how comfortable the size is for you. If you were comparing S3 and Note II I'd tell you to get the Note II hands down, but S4 has caught up a lot.
I love having the fuckload of features the S4 brings, but honestly Air View and Air Gestures are pretty damn gimmicky.
Eww, it doesn't have a MicroSD slot. This could be a dealbreaker.
Yeah, that's pretty much the reason I'm tied to Samsung or Sony. The DNA used to be a bad choice before the bootloader unlock came out. But yeah, they don't seem useful. I like some of the S3's stock features like SmartStay; I'm not sure if the Note II has those.
Got an update for franco kernal on my Nexus 4, running nightly r137. It is so smooth now, by far the quickest kernal I have used on the phone to date. Haven't been able to see what the battery is like just yet, looks good though.
Yeah I think I'm gonna roll with the S4 or the Note 2 then. Gonna eat dinner then fly over to the VZW store and try out everything to see what I like and don't like.
S4, IMO. The screen is just miles ahead of the Note's (in terms of density).
Well as soon as my dad is off the phone, I plan on dragging him to the VZW store and we'll hammer something out. I am going to be the owner of a new phone today, damnit, whether it's a preorder or walkout >:C
I am still not sure what I should do I have a $300 budget and I want a new android phone, the choices I have here are basically a brand new phone with a 2+ year contract or a nexus 4 A nexus 4 is probably a wiser choice but I really want to get One

I was playing with a friends phone and stumbled upon the old Google talk on gingerbread. The app looks, okay...
