I don't get what's so incredibly amazing about Timely. The clock font's animations are cringe-worthy, the animated backgrounds seem highly unnecessary for a clock app, you can't set a timer for the exact amount of time you want (or maybe I haven't found out how to, but you can't even set it under 15 seconds?).
The wake up puzzles and device sync is good, but IMO it's not something that every second android website out there should be pissing its pants for.
The font animations are kind of tacky but they're a great example of animations on android that don't lag to hell and back. Probably why Google wanted the people behind them.

I got this and I remember seeing the IAPs for this but not remembering what it was.
Anyways you can get credits for said IAPs through sharing the app and getting your friends to download and install it via a ref url.
To unlock all of the features costed $3.99
Huh, just realised that the IMEI sticker at the back of the Nexus 5 is in fact a sticker, and that you can remove it.
So i just got a nexus 5 and i haven't had an Android phone in years, i was wondering what were some must have apps? figured this was the place to ask.

PowerAMP for music
SwiftKey for typing stuff

Seriously? Mine is still on there, shiiiit. And I bought it 8th Dec.
I dunno. Maybe it's the equalizer or something. When the equalizers frequencies are all at zero, poweramp plays audio better than others.
Thanks guys for talking about PowerAmp.
I was using MortPlayer because it was the only one that could play folders properly.
The only downside I've found with PowerAmp so far is that I can't go to the next and previous folder with 4 and five clicks of the headset button.

lol
i took it off the day i got it

It's like the sticker on the 2012 Nexus 7, seemingly nobody knew it was removable.

-Ancient Android proverb.

So these type of advertisements are against the ad policy on Google so if you see them and it's an app from the google play store, report it.
I kept the IMEI sticker on my LG G2 until I realized everything was wiped off of it. It literally was blank.
Shit...
The IMEI number is on your phone's settings anyway, so you can write it down.
It's also on the box the device is packaged in
Can also try and type *#06# on your dialler to see it pop up. Worked for me on the HTC One.
But none of us will write it down somewhere, where we can get it when the phone gets stolen.

Someone basically made a mobile version of Slavehack, testing now, I hope it's amazing, because Slavehack was fun as fuck when everyone still played it.

So is the Nexus 4 still considered the best cheap Android phone or are there better now? Girlfriend needs an upgrade from her S2
No, Nexus 5 is the best Android phone.
Other options are Moto X, LG G2 and Moto G, but they're not Nexus, so that's bad.
If she just needs "a phone", but wants to play Temple Run or some shit, a Moto G is seriously a valid option.
So I have a contract renewal through Verizon in about a week, and I have been looking into getting a new phone. How does everyone feel about the LG G2?
It's a phone, it runs Android, and it performs really well, and I've heard it's got a big battery, but it's a Nexus, so you don't get to whine if they decide to not upgrade the software.
The real question is, do you have to stick with Verizon?

Moto X or the Droid Ultra/Maxx are the best phones available on Verizon.
so i actually looked at Timely since Google bought them and what not
sure the app's pretty and it's got a bunch of nice shit
but it's missing the ability to set a custom ringtone which is a dealbreaker for me

I just needed an alarm that worked with pebble. I use simply alarm holo and it works great.

Many people that are with Verizon now don't want to switch because of the awesome coverage. Others are on a family plan or what not. And still others have grandfathered Unlimited Data plans.

My dad's work discounts the family plan only for Verizon.

I've looked into both of those, but I'm not sure if I want to stick to OLED after seeing how heavy those types of screens wear (from my Galaxy Nexus).

AMOLED has improved since then. Don't worry about it too much. The fact is, Motorola's software kicks the shit out of LG's.
I had worse burn in on my RAZR Maxx than I have on my RAZR HD.

A different sky makes Bliss look surprisingly different.
I saw really bad burn in on the store unit of the Maxx at my local Verizon but I'm willing to bet in the 6 months it's been sitting on that store shelf, it's been on the same screen for ~12 hours a day
that's a lot of screen on time for an OLED

My old S1, which I passed down to my younger brother, has almost no burn in. If you look really closely on the top left of the screen, it looks slightly bluer when displaying white since due to black notification bar with no icons but that's about it.
Yeah. I've had an HD for a while and I just switched to a mostly white wallpaper (nude model in a bathtub full of milk), and there is no noticeable burn in at all.
[editline]5th January 2014[/editline]
Like I said, my old RAZR Maxx had worse burn in than I've seen on my HD and the old Maxx isn't even AMOLED.
