I have never done a nandroid backup in my life.
I made one after i got everything set up and running, in case some shitty mod screws up my phone
So my phone decided to corrupt my whole SD card, RIP Nandroid backups.
I put them on my sdcard and then whenever I copy stuff onto the sdcard from my computer, I backup the backups
What are some good Xposed tweaks? I have Keepchat, i've tried the tinted statusbar but it doesn't work on Nova and some apps its just grey.
If it doesn't work on Nova or any other apps that should have transparency, have the colour as 66ffffff
What are some good Xposed tweaks? Schools wifi blocks the google push notifications thingy and I want to switch ports on my phone and maybe use a port forwarding that goes to my phone.
What are some good Xposed tweaks?
modules? i'm using these:
All Notifications Expanded App Settings Gravitybox [KK] KitKat Toast Backport LWInRecents Play Store link in App info Smooth System Progress Bars XuiMod

Alright, so i'm fiddling around with this BlueStacker and Genymotion, and trying to to root either of them seems like some messy shit. Does anyone know about a good guide for idiots, on how to root either of them?
So looking at Genymotion a little bit closely, it appears to be powered by VirtualBox. I'm going to look into it a little bit closer to be sure, but you should be able to mount the Genymotion hard drive in another Linux VM as a second drive and just copy the contents of a superuser zip where they need to go.
Google now api
Which apps take advantage of said API?
I really wish the camera on the N4 wasn't such a hunk of junk. Obviously they've gotta cut corners somewhere but both my old iPhone 4 and Motorola Atrix took better snaps.
I really wish the camera on the N4 wasn't such a hunk of junk. Obviously they've gotta cut corners somewhere but both my old iPhone 4 and Motorola Atrix took better snaps.
iPhone cameras are probably some of the best cameras on the smartphone market though.
iPhone cameras are probably some of the best cameras on the smartphone market though.
yeah, it's not about the megapixels
yeah, it's not about the megapixels
It's about the Benjamins.
iPhone cameras are probably some of the best cameras on the smartphone market though.
Been spoilt by the camera on the 4. Also comparing to folks using anything after the 4S is gutting.
yeah, it's not about the megapixels
Unless you're Nokia then it's all about the megapickles. Although to be fair the high end Lumias do pretty well image quality wise.
Cool, just got Galaxy S4 today. You guys got any cool tips to make this thing run way better? Any cool apps? Not ready to root it yet tho.
Since you're not going to root it, so no custom ROMs, I'd say get Nova launcher straight away.
I've already got nova launcher and some new lockscreen widget deal, but samsung's default contacts and messaging apps are really rough on the eyes. Are there any apps worth downloading that will make that shit look cool? Either use Hangouts for your messaging, or use this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fr.slvn.mms
Wow, fuck. These default UI sounds are terrible. Is there a way to change them without rooting, or will I just have to disable them completely? Is there some setting I gotta screw with?

I wish the clock on the notification bar would go away when you have a clock widget on the homescreen
So my phones headphones that it came with went through a second wash cycle by accident and now the audio is a bit distorted but it still works. It kind of sucks how Sony put proprietary crap on the headphone jack. Samsung headset and others don't work. It would be the only real way to get clear audio into my phone during video / Internet calls. Oh well.
I wish the clock on the notification bar would go away when you have a clock widget on the homescreen
If you have root access and are using Nova launcher, you can disable the clock while on your launcher or just on your home page.
You've pretty much lost me already.
I'll post a step-by-step, though be warned there's a LOT of steps. 1) Go get an ISO of a Linux Live CD of some sort. Preferably something with a web browser in it. 2) In VirtualBox, click New. Enter a name for your VM (anything works, I'm using "example"), tell it you're running Ubuntu (or whatever), then just click Next a bunch of times. 3) Right click on "example", and click Settings. 4) In Storage, right click on "Controller: SATA" and click "Add Hard Disk". Click "Choose existing disk". 5) In the file select dialog, go to "C:\Users\You\AppData\Local\Genymobile\Genymotion\Genymobile\Genymotion\deployed\Target Device Here\android_system_disk.vmdk". And yes, Genymobile\Genymotion is supposed to be in there twice. 6) While you're in the storage tab, click the CD icon (which probably has "Empty" next to it). Click the little CD icon to the right of "IDE Secondary Master", and select "Choose a virtual disk image". 7) In THIS file select dialog, find wherever you downloaded your Linux ISO and open it. 8) Click OK, and click start. Wait for it to boot up. 8.5) While you're waiting, go get a sandwich. 9) Soon as it boots and you're in a desktop, open a terminal. 10) Your system disk should be /dev/sdb, therefore:
sudo mkdir ~/system sudo mount -o rw /dev/sdb6 ~/system
(the "6" may vary, could be any other number - if you don't see "bin", "xbin", "etc" folders when you "ls ~/system" you have the wrong one - "sudo umount ~/system" and try again) 11) Using the web browser within the VM, go download your preferred rooting zip, like SuperSU. 12) The contents of the "system" folder within that zip should go directly into the "system" folder in your home folder (assuming step 10 was successful). 13) Power off your system, using the power off stuff within the VM.
