Just got my nexus 5
I ordered it just a week ago from Google play and it's a first gen nexus 5. The speaker holes are small and the buttons are wobbly :/
I ordered mine like, the day before they announced the revised model, I was annoyed :v:
But it didn't affect me, the speakers are fine and I don't notice the buttons since they're under a case
a $30 case can and probably will save your $350-400 phone on multiple occasions

Did Google actually announce it or was it more of a "someone noticed the difference" based on the news I read a while back.

A $9 case has saved my $600 LG G2 on 2 occasions, a simple TPU case is more than enough for a average user.

my galaxy s3 went down the stairs without a case and it's fine, although I'd gladly pay $30 to better hide the phone
I've been having a little bit of an issue with my phone's lock screen. Not really a big bug or anything, but it's pretty annoying.
So this is what my lockscreen looks like normally. I've got dashclock on the center screen and nothing on the left and right.

However, when I start to play music with the Google Play Music app, dashclock's widget is moved over to the left and play music's widget is on the main screen. Is there any way to make it so that the google play music widget pops up on the left or right when music is playing, instead of the center?

no
Use a media player that doesn't suck and disable its lockscreen controls

What's wrong with Google Music?
You can't disable lockscreen controls?
Is there any browser that doesn't crash when viewing image heavy threads on FP i.e. Hot Girls  and LMAO pics? I've tried Chrome and the standard Android AOSP browser and they both don't seem to like it very much (i.e. they freeze my s2 up and I have to reboot it by holding down the power button). Opera Mini seemed a good idea because of the way it compresses pages and images before displaying them but doesn't seem to work too good on pages with many images.
Have you tried NextBrowser?

I suppose you could give Firefox a try. But you might run into the issue of not having enough RAM period.
Try the beta version of the browsers too
should i get a motorola moto g

Give Firefox a try.
so after like half a year, I gave in to modding again and installed Hellscore kernel on my stock 4.4 Nexus 4.
Battery life here I come!
is someone interested in buying my crappy ass used-since-xmas-of-2011 galaxy s2?
it's pretty much otherwise in good condition except i think the headphone jack is a bit loose, the samsung logo on the back has lost a bit of its colour and the screen has a few scratches on it.

Same thing happens with Next Browser, Opera, Chrome Beta, and Firefox
Think I might just have not enough RAM with the s2/i9100

When I view those threads on my phone, the Browser crashes. No freezing up like what you have.

Yep. The AOSP browser on my GNex crashes to the homescreen as well. Not everytime, but its prone to it. 1 GB of RAM is just not enough for system, background processes and these threads. It has more to do with the Youtube players though. It doesn't actually crash until those load. If only there were a way to disable loading the Youtube player in the browser and just show URL's.
Though I don't know why yours completely crashes. Maybe a bug on the S2 ROM (provided your still running stock)?

Try disabling flash. Also give Boat Browser and Dolphin a go too if all those other ones won't work (I use Next Browser).

I'm running Carbon-Rom 4.3 with Dorimanx Kernel which could be why.

Flash was never enabled or installed :)
Dolphin and Boat seem to do the same
Hey guys, I recently updated my Android to 4.3 and with it followed a problem with audio. Whenever I listen to music with Spotify the volume is lower than it should be. I know the headphones aren't broken since when I get an sms while listening the volume briefly jumps to the level it should be, this also happens when I skip in the song. It also works if I pull out the headphone jack and insert it, but it goes low when it changes song. Any ideas what to do? Drives me nuts when I listen to music and next my ear drums burst when I get a sms.
and why wont my facepunch app work?

When you change the audio levels with your volume button, tap on the settings button on the right part of the volume slider, from there you should be able to change the volume of the notifications.

That's not the problem, the musics volume is lower than it should be and the musics volume pops up for a second for the set volume.

sounds like an issue with the app
Hmm ok I figured it out, it has something to do with the equalisatior. If I turn it off it works properly, but that sucks because then I have to use the flat setting :/
