People talk about being able to stream their entire music library to their phone and I quietly wonder to myself what it's like to have that much money.
Grandfathered unlimited LTE data is the shit.
Although I usually pick my commonly listened music in Google Music and pin it anyway. Basically all the benefits of local media and streamed, with the only caveat that you have to use the Google Music app, which I don't mind anyway as it does everything I need it to do. Because of that, I'm already half way through the billing period and have only used like 800 MB.

Lucky, my old plan was back when almost nobody used data
So instead of being free Telstra just made it fucking $2/MB
"People only use tiny amounts of it, so they'll think it's fair if we charge out the ass for it"

That's the overage rate for Verizon. Pretty ridiculous.
i have 2 gb data and coupled with onavo extend and only browsing web pages i have virtually unlimited data
Used to have unlimited data with tmo UK but they randomly cut it to 500mb when I renewed my contract. Now with based GiffGaff.

Welcome, brother. 250mb for £7.50 is fucking godly and a perfect amount for me.
So far my Google Play Music data usage's been 2.04 GB this month. Good thing there's no caps here...
Finland master country.
No data caps on anything.

If you ever needed a little more and don't mind switching, three have a great unlimited deal for £12.90 on a 1 month contract.

Anyone else hear about Sprint's Framily plan and their Sprint Spark data thingie?
https://now.sprint.com/framily/
http://newsroom.sprint.com/presskits/sprint-spark.htm
With the framily plan the more people you get to be part of your plan, the less money you have to pay per month (and each line pays for themselves, with a maximum savings of 7 total people, and 10 total people on a framily plan). At maximum savings you can get unlimited talk and text, and 1GB of data for $25 a month, and you can add unlimited data (and annual phone upgrades) for a mere $20 a month, making unlimited talk, text, data, and annual phone upgrades a measly $45 a month. IIRC, there are no other carriers (in the USA at least) that even offer unlimited data, and here is Sprint offering it for so little.
Sprint Spark is an over the air data thingie (like 4g and stuff), with theoretical top speeds of up to 2 gbps (bits), with currently 50-60 mbps (bits) being the norm.
Unfortunately Sprint has abysmal coverage in quite a few places, but they're working extremely hard at the moment to roll out Sprint Spark to 100 cities over the next few years, and to have 4g pretty much everywhere over the same course of time.
I feel like an advertisement, but it's pretty exciting.
Having my S3 right next to my Nexus 7, using the same wallpaper I realised how orange the S3's screen is compared to my Nexus 7 and my Laptop.

Even better! Only downside is giffgaff 4G hasn't rolled out yet and Three has in most areas, both are available for free though which is awesome.

That's odd, every S3 screen I've ever seen is really blue compared to any other display next to it with the same image displayed.

Different models have different tinting. My mate's S3s were all blue or green tinted, my dad's S3 4G has no tinting at all however it has really bad colour banding. Shit looks 16bit

Yeah I held up my S3 in front of my monitor, both displaying white, and the S3 is noticeably bluer. At higher brightnesses it seems to get better.
My S3 is definitely more yellow than my HTC Vivid. Pure blues end up looking more like aquamarine on the S3. I tried to take a picture, but the difference doesn't show up too well on camera, even with white balance adjustment.
Found an Sense 5 like launcher for any device.
Its a bit laggy and confusing for me, however, i found it pretty.

Well when you've got no power and the snow is 10 feet above your roof how else are you supposed to watch porn?
I got a myself an S3 Mini last week, and I am stuck on 4.1 and it doesn't look like it will get updated any time soon, and I saw that I can get 4.4 by a custom rom of CM 11.
Is it worth it or should I just hold off?

YMMV but I used to be on o2 (GiffGaff use their network) and 3's 3G coverage was better pretty much everywhere for me.
everybody is on about really high priced internet and i am here with unlimited calls and texts and 5gb of 4g for £17 a month
And a lot of us are jealous
So, my phones been getting progressivly shit over the past few days.
I know little about Kernels and ROMs and I was wondering if theres a way to install default (Nexus 7?) jelly bean on top of my current android kernel.
Phone took ages to reboot last night, when it turned on all my app data got completely wiped and a couple apps deleted themselves. Had to restore an old Titanium Backup :suicide:
Anyone know how this could happen? I am assuming the data/data directory got corrupted somehow

Depends... What device have you got?
Is there any reskins of Hangouts around with a dark background? The default white one is terrible to look at for me on my sgs2

Wow, that looks like it's running gingerbread or something. But yeah, no stock android for you, but you can install a custom rom like CyanogenMod. Wasn't able to find a guide for your phone though, but it's pretty much the same process for all devices.
So a while back Wind Mobile (Canada) launched an add-on for Unlimited data, talk and text in USA and on Facebook people are arguing that Wind sucks, that people don't know anything about how Canadian Telecoms work, etc.
It's still obvious that the service in USA will be better than Canada :/
