I stopped using my original Sony smartwatch a while ago since Sony fucked up the music widget and made it not work with Play Music anymore. Now, every time my watch reconnects to my phone it plays music, and the control center app keeps notifying me about stupid shit even after I unchecked the notifications box. Software downgrade is Sony's MO, I guess.
Any of you guys using powerbanks? Any recommendations?
i've got two ingress branded 3000 mAh moto power packs for a "oh no my batteries dying quick" and a 12000mAh anker for when i need lots of power
Right now the Nexus 5 Black 32GB..
Leaves warehouse by March 7, 2014
Before it had 2-3 weeks so it was going to leave the warehouse that week anyways... While the White 32GB is 1-2 days... I kinda wanted the black one and it to arrive before Spring Break... First World Problems.. I guess I wouldn't mind the white plastic back and black plastic sides.
It’s made of a hard plastic that’s somehow similar to the material on the 2012 HTC One X. It’s smooth, feels solid, and more premium than the glossy plastic on some other phones.
I guess I'll shut up and get the white one already. Having the white one also allows me to draw on the white back... with Sharpies... ~artsy~

Sacrifice it to the gods?
What are you going to do with the potato? Sacrifice it to the gods?
Run a home server of some sort until it explodes, I actually have a reason for using it like that. School has blocked some ports, an important one is Google Cloud Messenger.
The device accesses the GCM servers on ports 5228-5230. If your organization has a firewall that restricts the traffic to or from the Internet, you'll need to configure it to allow connectivity with GCM. The ports to open are: 5228, 5229, and 5230. GCM typically only uses 5228, but it sometimes uses 5229 and 5230. GCM doesn't provide specific IPs. It changes IPs frequently. We recommend against using ACLs but if you must use them, take a broad approach such as the method suggested in this support link.
So those ports are blocked at school so I'd have to either 1) Run a home VPN and hopefully the ports would work 2) Run a port forwarder and forward the data to and back my phone while at school Or something else to get it to work. Any recommendations? I can also run a home media server and I recently bought Plex for Android while it was on sale with the remains of that $10 of Play Store credit I got from the Kit Kat Contests so I could try streaming stuff using that from home. Although my home Internet is pretty bad with an inconsistent 1Mbps upload I don't think it would work great and my potato probably can't transcode that stuff on the fly (pretty sure that is PC only). I'd probably just run it for accessing some home files, it's not like I have much at all. I usually use USB drives anyways or Google Drive. I could also use my potato to download stuff (like I do right now). This is what I do now, I download YouTube videos (1080p if possible but now it requires additional steps so 720p works too) and movies using my phone on schools WiFi and get home, run either Plex or UPnP server off my phone and watch it on the computer and maybe HDMI that to the TV.
I got my Nexus 5 two days after i'd ordered it even though Google play said it wouldn't leave the warehouse for ~2 weeks.
This case has a specific date listed so I'm guessing it's actually going to leave the warehouse at the earliest on March 7th..
I don't think it makes a difference. IIRC mine actually had a date too.
I don't think it makes a difference.
the most descriptive video by the creator: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFeCtGS3Y-o
Holy fuck that video made me angry. There are a million fucking sliders, and in the whole video of 1:15 long he only moves ONE slider. Holy shit I know now in FULL DETAIL how moving that shite one slider to the left LOWERS the gain and moving it to the right RAISES it. But wait! If you HOLD the slider and move left and right the gain goes up and down ALONG WITH YOUR FINGER. Holy shit! Then at the end you fucking HOPE that he touches another slider to see what that does, but no, it just plays that goddamn song for 15 more seconds. It's a full minute of him moving ONE slider, and then there's 15 seconds just nothing. Holy shit how can this piss me off SO much!?
I've got SGS2 now and while I'm happy about it, there's one problem which annoys me. It won't work as a phone. It shouldn't be a problem with my SIM card since it worked perfectly in my previous phone (HTC Wildfire S), and every time I try to dial someone it says "Not registered on network", so I tried going to Mobile Networks -> Network operators and tap either Play or Select automatically. None of which worked. The phone doesn't have any simlocks and any of that bullshit.

If second hand, you should check if the phone's IMEI is alright: Settings - About phone - Status scroll down and check if the IMEI section has numbers in it. If it does, check it against the box the phone came in/purchase receipt. If the numbers are correct, are you running a custom ROM? (if you don't know what this is and the phone is brand new, the answer is "no") Otherwise try calling your carrier, if they have any clue what might be wrong (damaged SIM or something).
Is there anyway to manage what apps show up in the share menu on android? Mine is stupidly long and I only use a select few of the entries but it would be nice not to have to scroll as much.

With the recent purchase of WhatsApp by Facebook, who here actually made the switch to something like Telegram because of it? And who here actually uses Telegram?
I'd switch if my friends did. in other words: WhatsApp 5 ever. But it's down for like an hour now, longest downtime it had in the last year or two.

The phone is running stock rom, unrooted. Also the phone is second hand. And I doubt my SIM card is damaged as it ran perfectly fine while I had it in my previous phone. Just after switching to the newer phone it started displaying that. Did not tried switching SIM cards to the old phones but I guess it should work fine.
If possible, try a different card in the S2 and see if that works?
Ads on Holofication Nation? Time to purchase it then.
If possible, try a different card in the S2 and see if that works?
I already tried. Same thing. Booted up and it asked for PIN. I wrote that stuff in, and it couldn't connect. Tried using Mobile Networks, it failed. Tried writing 0000 and 1111 and it wouldn't work too. Also the guy which I was buying the phone from said that before selling it he tried every sim card he had in his house and everyone was working.
can't resist my flashing urge anymore, time to replace stock Android 4.4.2 with Paranoid Android.
Be ready to be quite disappointed for a while. Since right now it's mostly stock AOSP and they're slowly adding features back into it.
Ads on Holofication Nation? Time to purchase it then.
We've got to pay for our hosting somehow, sorry. If there was another way without advertisements, we'd use it. I hate ads myself too.
Going to use ad version until donation version's icon is fixed. [editline]23rd February 2014[/editline] I don't see any ads though.
My SIM finally got rolled out to 4G on Three UK. I'm seeing a more reliable connection but the places I've been so far have only given me about a third of the speeds I've had on HSPA.
