S5 has just been properly leaked I think. http://www.redmondpie.com/samsung-galaxy-s5-images-specs-leaks-in-full-glory-ahead-of-mwc-unveiling/ (pics) > Bigger screen again, almost Note 3 big. > Fingerprint sensor (swipe variety). > Micro USB3 port. > Flaps covering ports, water and dust resistant to standard. > Heart rate sensor. > 2800mah battery...... Also has a back surface with a grid of indentations (I think). Could be a nightmare for dirt.
So basically Samsung's 2014 design is fake metal rim on everything, flat with rounded corners but the round angles are smaller. Also what the hell is up with that back cover... it looks like cheap styrofoam
The port covers kind of irk me too... they always seem so breakable.
I thought the back cover couldn't look worse... I'm not doubting Samsung's ability to fuck shit up ever again.
The port covers kind of irk me too... they always seem so breakable.
Well the only time you would have the bottom flap open is if you're charging or copying stuff around. The audio port whenever you're listening to music with headphones.
Well the only time you would have the bottom flap open is if you're charging or copying stuff around. The audio port whenever you're listening to music with headphones.
Which is very fucking often. My optimus 3D has a USB port flap and it's really annoying.
I usually hate port covers on stuff because they're a bitch to open if you have short fingernails My old W810i had one rubber cover over the Memory Stick port, and even it had a little lip that made it easy to open
And people say HTC and Apple have no taste in style...
And people say HTC and Apple have no taste in style...
At least HTC and Apple can machine their devices from elements other than plastic...
And people say HTC and Apple have no taste in style...
The HTC One looks very nice. The bezel thing is but a minor annoyance.
I was really looking forward to the Galaxy but right now I'm leaning towards the Xperia Z2. Any reason why I should think otherwise?
Which is very fucking often. My optimus 3D has a USB port flap and it's really annoying.
Oh yeah, my phone has a flap for the microUSB port too. Yeah it's pretty annoying but it's still well attached.
Well the only time you would have the bottom flap open is if you're charging or copying stuff around. The audio port whenever you're listening to music with headphones.
With my Z1 I've only opened the USB port when I needed to move music other than that, I haven't used the flap since, magnetic charging cable all the way. Flashability can be very important too.
At least HTC and Apple can machine their devices from elements other than plastic...
Not that plastic is inherently bad The issue is that Samsung use cheap, shitty plastics..
Ahhhhhhh, stop making phones bigger and bigger. There's going to be point in the Note soon! That being said I really do like the look of the Sony Z2, I'll see what Apple throws out this year as it does tempt me a fair bit.
Remember 2 years ago, the Galaxy Note was "ridiculous"
I think manufacturers have forgotten about ergonomics and anthropometrics.
I was waiting for the Galaxy S5 to get leaked before i get my next phone in case it was really awesome... But nope time to go out and get my LG G2
The plus side of the S5 is the UI looks a little less offensive. But damn, that back cover. And a fucking USB port cover. What a piece of shit.
Galaxy S2 was so nice, they should have kept with those materials. Gloss is just cheap and tacky.
Agreed, the S2 was one of the best looking Samsung phones. Ever since then they've gone downhill pretty fucking fast, and build quality hasn't improved at all. You can even see little warps in the plastic where the case snaps into the phone.
Meanwhile. the Nokia X, X+, and XL were finally unveiled. Before anyone goes off on it about it being low-powered and not stock android: It's not meant for countries like the US. It only seems to be on sale in places like India, various places in Europe, etc.
For an I-747, what would the highest safe mAh be? I see a few 4400s, which is double what I currently have, and I don't know if that would make my phone explode in my pants or something.
It'll be fine, the mAh is just how many mA (milliamps) per hour your can pull. Like you can pull 4400mA for one hour, 8800mA for half an hour, etc. As long as the battery itself isn't bad, and it's got 5V, you'll be fine.
Flashability can be very important too.
AFAIK most devices are not as hard to flash as they use to be, can be a bit confusing, but more simplified now. On my Xperia Ion, downloading the ftf took longer than setting up for flashing.
Got my Nexus 5 32GB a few hours ago! The red one. So far it's great. I've never really used such a big touchscreen before. There's a lot I'll have to get used to.
So apparently the Galaxy S5 feels better in the hand because of the soft touch back, but it somehow even uglier... because of the soft touch back. Talk about a tradeoff nobody wanted. Watch it outsell phones that seem much better so far (the unannounced M8 and the Z2).

People aren't buying it because of the specs, looks, or what have you. They buy it because it's a Samsung Galaxy. They don't know of anything better.
Is there any point in full screen mode now that we have immersive mode?
[t]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/c7/Nokia_N9.jpg[/t] Polycarbonate and it feels more solid than Micro Arc Oxidation metal
If only Nokia made Android phones that aren't low priced POS
