Remember 2 years ago, the Galaxy Note was "ridiculous"
Or when the Galaxy Nexus was released and everybody thought that was huge.
i am in love with my lg g2. went a full 6-to-6 day and came back home with 65%.
this is glorious.
good bye nexus 4.
My Note 2 lasts so long when idling, but the second the screen goes on, it just dies. I can only get like 4 hours of screen on time with 50% brightness.
One thing I hate about my G2 is the weird noise I hear when using headphones.
Moving my finger on the screen and doing other things changes the noise but it stays there.
Is my phone just faulty or is it a fault in design?
I had read something about EMI shielding or something when I once had some cheap Chinese earphones that had this same noise on every device I had.
Now it only happens with my phone with new headphones.
I don't remember much about that thing, though.
4 hours screen on time is pretty good.
4 hours screen on time is pretty good.
Of course as soon as I say this, I get bit in the ass with a wakelock and went down 29% with only 11 minutes of screen on time. :I
I thought the back cover couldn't look worse...
I'm not doubting Samsung's ability to fuck shit up ever again.
So it's uglier S4 with a 50's retro flashback diner table edge, has the same specs as the LG G2 but a higher binned SoC clocked at 2.5ghz, a higher mp camera with 4K video and is water/dust resistant. I am so fucking happy I didn't wait for the S5/HTC flagship 2014.
I am in love with my LG G2 and with Kitkat rolled out to the AT&T version and the rest following. GG Samsung, you made an ugly S4 with 2013.5 specs with what seems to be a better version of Touchwiz..
I was thinking of getting an Xperia Z1 in a few month to upgrade from my HTC legend. Are there any issues with the Xperia Z1 that should be noted?
What's the point of 4k video recording in the coming phones if internal storage is still stagnating at a laughable 16/32GB like it has for the past half decade? Unless you've got an SD card you probably wouldn't even be able to record for very long.

I have something better, a side-by-side with a LG G2.

I'm extremely disappointed and even more disappointed that more S5's will sell in a month that LG has sold the G2 easily.
To be fair, you really can't blame consumers. Samsung's products have had a fairly solid reputation for quite a while now, whereas LG has only recently turned themselves around, along with other OEMs...
Is the G2 locked down ridiculously hard software wise (Bootloader, rooting)? After my terrible experience with the Optimus L9 I'm definitely leaning more towards never buying another LG phone again.

Also I can't be the only one who thinks that the HTC One's multicolored front bezel thing is ugly as sin

Move over potato, here comes the bandaid. Every Galaxy that comes out makes me glad I bailed out at the S2.
samsung what the flying hell are your design people doing
Does anyone have any tips for charging? My phone takes fucking hours to charge up fully. Is it best to use the standard usb cable or is there better versions you can buy?

What phone and how many amps is the charger
If you're just charging from your computer, it's going to take forever because of the pissweak current

It's a HTC One, not sure of the amps off the top of my head.

Get a quality 1 Ampere USB charger.
HTC bundled one with their older smartphones, not sure whenever they've gone the Samsung (or is it Sony?) route and replaced it with a pissweak charger that only spits out between 0.7 and 0.8 Ampere.

Grab a 12W charger, can pick up an Apple one for pretty cheap.

to be fair the back cover doesn't look like that in real life unless you've got a huge lamp shining at it from a grazing angle
If you make a wallpaper for the Nexus 5, what is the dimensions?

Aren't they wider to allow for it to scroll when moving to another page?
Aren't they wider to allow for it to scroll when moving to another page?
I don't think GEL does scrolling wallpapers
[editline]26th February 2014[/editline]
Just tried, apparently it does :v:
If it's only 1080 pixels wide, it won't scroll, if it's wider, it'll use whatever extra image is on the right hand side when you scroll

People claim bezels too big and the screen sucks, up to you really, I'm content with the Z1 and have enjoyed the device so far. Though the screen is pretty sensitive and can be even more sensitive with the use almost practically anything as a stylus mod.
jesus christ the moto g has such good battery life
i get 15-20 hrs with moderate screen usage

Yeah, for such a cheap device it's great.

The Galaxy Note 2 charger is 2A. My sk17a charger is 1.2A.
So I intend to buy a Nexus 5 in a week.
Can you recommend it?
Have had my Nexus 5 for less than 10 hours now and it's great. everything is pretty much instant. This is coming from an HTC Wildfire S so my standards are pretty low though, heh.
But I'm slowly getting desperate...Is there no way to record 25fps video with an android phone? I tried lgcamera which gives me the option, but it doesn't work. So fuck.
