So play devices is about to be released here.
As is the chromecast.
Google play movies was released last night out of the blue.
What's this Google, suddenly noticing we exist as a country?
I really don't like PA, switching to it was a mistake. The minute Verizon releases KitKat for the G2 I'm going to figure out how to switch to that.
There's some other roms. Mahdi, CM11 and Slimkat seem to be the current 3 most popular in order after PA. Mahdi is rumored to be more stable although everything in the G2 development world is basically built from the bases houstonn makes.
Hopefully when Kitkat rolls for the VS/LS variants CloudyStock and CloudyPro 2 will support them since those seem to be the only LG based roms which seem to be actively developed and in decent shape. Although the VS variant has Malladus which seems to be pretty popular and looks to be in good shape. I'm stuck with a D801 and a LS980 which are total minorities in the G2 development sections. My D801 doesn't even have a decent stock rom going for it other than Cloudy which I just found a day ago since it's in the general section.
If you're complaining about apps not being holo, you'll love this:

the moto 360
I want one.
I can't wait. LG also teased their G Watch.
I just hope some level of waterproofing and a scratch resistant glass (sapphire?) will be standard for these things. Holding on to my extremely beaten up Casio DB360 for just a little longer.

They have to secure all of Robin Sparkle's music before they can release Google Music in Canada.

Google now works well with music and play.
That and I hate spotify.
But I don't stream music, I use far superior flacs
My LG optimus L9 is running Android 4.1.2. Apparently there's a KitKat 4.4.2 CyanogenMod under development. Worth updating?

I had to saw my own leg off with a rusty spoon to even root the thing, and the steps to unlock the bootloader ended up not even working

same deal with my G2, rooting was tedious as shit and I had to flash back to factory twice because it got all fucked up trying to get into twrp, and eventually I gave up and had to find some obscure .bat file to boot into recovery
HEY hi guys again, I've decided to cave in and buy a Note II for sure. Wish they had the Note 3 for less cashmoney but hey, I can upgrade in October to a new gizmo if I want.
Canadians are waiting...
we have chromecast now though

Did you have to flash back to ICS (and factory reset), flash to the EU version of an old JB rom, use the phone for ~two hours while the LCD was horizontally mirrored (color inverted as well), and the bottom half of the digitizer was vertically mirrored? And then have the unlock process fail on one of the final steps as a last "fuck you" from LG?
[sp]then shut up[/sp]
[editline]18th March 2014[/editline]
Also the stock rom's got 1.8gb of usable internal space and they disabled move to sd for no fucking reason

Do I sound bitter?
I'm a little bitter

Finally it comes here. Too bad it is cheaper buy in USA (like get a friend to bring it over if they're already coming over)
It's $49.07 including shipping and taxes, from the base price of $39.

Buy it on amazon.ca, free shipping. They started supplying it the same time Google Play did.

Rooting my T-Mobile G2 was running ioroot and installing a recovery through Flashify.
Rooting my GF's updated Sprint G2 was running ioroot, overwriting the aboot with adb and installing a recovery through Flashify.
I have no idea what issues you could be running into unless you're using a Verizon variant in which you probably shouldn't use a Verizon variant lol.
You shouldn't use Verizon*

What the the difference between the "Canada Compatable Edition" and the "US Edition" aside from an extra $10?
So Google play devices released in Sweden.. The nexus 5 32gb is about 350eur.
I paid total 440 Eur to get mine from UK in December :(
I really hope Devices launch in Czech Republic before the new Nexus phone is released. Just because I managed to get the Nexus 4 imported without issues (and the phone is without issues as well) doesn't mean I want to risk it again.
