Too bad the nexus 5 isn't on Amazon for the same or less price as the google play store.
Just got a Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini. It's my first smart phone, nice to finally upgrade. :v: Any good apps or games you guys would recommend? It's been nice even just being able to check my email and stuff while I'm out, let alone doing anything fancier.
learn to use it first

Does anyone here still play Ingress?
I do.
Green master race.
Is it worth rooting a Note 3? If I use X-Note will I lose any features?

Picked blue purely because most of my city is a green wasteland :v:
What's the point in playing a game if it's already been finished for you

Only 4 more months of this here. And as I say that my Galaxy Nexus runs slower by the day.
Is there any way to remove the simlock from an Android phone? (Galaxy S2)
I don't want to root now, but I'll propably have to in order to remove that simlock.

I doubt the carrier will provide an unlock code as I bought this phone from another person. And they told me the simlock was already removed.

Feedly (free) for RSS feeds, Pocketcasts (paid) for podcasts, Poweramp (paid) or Google Play Music (free, probably already on your phone) for music, if you use reddit Reddit Sync is a fantastic app for it, Evernote (free) if you're OCD and have a compulsive need to save all your receipts, invoices, recipes, maps, webpage clips, etc; Prey (free) or Cerberus (paid) for anti-theft features like remotely locking/wiping your phone, tracking the GPS, taking pictures remotely, etc

Also just ordered a chromecast from amazon, one of the joys of living in Saskatchewan is that no online retailer has a physical presence here so I never pay PST. Free shipping, only $1.95 GST

the moto 360
I want it now.
Has a nice face and doesn't look much bigger than my watch now.
while I really like the design (although I'm not exactly a big fan of rounded watches), the Moto 360 seems reeeeally thick from the images. The render of LG's G Watch looked thinner.
not gonna lie, my watch looks to be about the same size as the 360

For Podcasts BeyondPod is pretty good too (free and paid), also Reddit is Fun! is a good alternative reddit client, depends what style you like really...
What exactly is the killer app of the Chromecast if you don't mind me asking? They've just become available officially in the UK and I'm curious what is so great about them. I can pair my phone with the YouTube PS3 app and use it as a remote control, there is a Netflix PS3 app (if I had Netflix) and I can DLNA stream stuff to my PS3 from my phone and from my PC. I don't really have any want to display the Chrome browser on my TV. Am I missing something?

Off Amazon eh?
not gonna lie, my watch looks to be about the same size as the 360
I have tiny wrists ._. I bought a Casio G-Shock DW6900 not too long ago (which looks similar in size to the Moto 360) and it was like I was wearing a small orbital satellite on my hand. Had to return the watch even though I liked it.
I was updating my CM mod to 10.2 from a 10.1 nightly after a few months of having it.
I backed up my rom with ClockWork recovery (ROM manager)
so when I updated I didn't have my phone app working, so I went back to 10.1 but for some reason it did a complete wipe of my phone.
I tried going to my back up but it said there were no files...
anyone have any idea to back up my phone to be back to normal :(
[editline]19th March 2014[/editline]
Going through my phone it seems that i've only lost my text msgs, which I backed up to my google drive account.
So I just have to figure out my wifi pass, install all my old apps, and get my text msgs back and Im back to normal, not as bad as it seems!
so from my cheap analysis of the moto 360
it looks to be about ~45m diameter and ~13mm thick
so not all that huge really

Our IT guy at uni usually puts up a field that covers most of Gippsland, if it goes down, it'll be back up within 3 days if all is well.

Bit of an odd question, but my Nexus 7's alarm app used to have a quad beep sound like a cheapo alarm clock (like this at 15 seconds in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJ2SqGfURyY ) (also the same sound which the kitchen timer section uses) which worked really well for me.
I had a charging problem with my Nexus 7 so factory reset it, and now it plays some shitty musical sound that doesn't wake me up.
I do remember that the alarm sound picker used to say Default (Unknown) and now it says Default Ringtone (Oxygen).
So, how can I re-break the alarm app so it beeps at me again? I guess it was broken before because it couldn't find the alarm sounds, but I have no idea how those would have gotten deleted.
what
