What exactly is the killer app of the Chromecast if you don't mind me asking? They've just become available officially in the UK and I'm curious what is so great about them. I can pair my phone with the YouTube PS3 app and use it as a remote control, there is a Netflix PS3 app (if I had Netflix) and I can DLNA stream stuff to my PS3 from my phone and from my PC. I don't really have any want to display the Chrome browser on my TV. Am I missing something?
It's mostly just because it's easy and works with all the devices you already have instead of adding another remote control to the pile.
Off Amazon eh?
Yeah, final price was $40.95 and even with free shipping they dispatched it 3 hours after I ordered.

Apex Launcher, Pandora, Hangouts, Light Flow, VLC Remote, Dropbox, Google Opinion Rewards and Google Voice.
I'd also consider using a debloated or AOSP rom as essential for anything but a Nexus or Moto X/G.

SwiftKey, Chrome, Evernote

I still feel that Chrome is a shit browser on Android, Next Browser and the likes are way less CPU/battery intensive
In my experience, even the stock browser is better than chrome.
I have a Note 2 running Android 4.3.
Instagram crashes when I choose a cover photo for a video post, anyone else have this problem?
Does anyone know what can cause android to take a bug report?
Sometimes I'll be using my phone and a notification for "Bug report completed" appears, no idea why it randomly does it. Like, one of them just included a random screenshot of a steam conversation
Huh.
Yesterday 4.4.2 for HTC One was dispensed... and today, I received it for Dual sim version.
htc, stahp

Are you on CM? I think you can enable a button press combination to send a bug report. Or google maps has a shake to bug report thing or something.
Is it just my phone (nex5),or is Ok Jarvis refusing to respond?
Australian accent?

Stock Kitkat, and it's not maps' bug report thing, it's like, the actual system bug report that takes a full dump
So i was looking around at my FB feed, then i saw this in a friend's post about his Z1 getting KitKat.

I think people have the odd impression that old OS = faster.
I want to go back to MIUI cause of simplicity of it. But the ROM I used to use for it is outdated and not being worked on and it had loads of tweaks that none of the other MIUI ROM's have for some reason.

The only problem I have with Chrome is that it just straight up decides to stop loading pages. I have to kill the entire app.
I like the syncing that it does, and using it feels better than anything else I've tried.

I think the idea they have is that because it was meant to run on older, slower hardware, it would naturally perform better than something newer designed to run on modern hardware.
I use Firefox because it respects my freedoms.
And I like it. And the extensions, which lets me use the HTTPS Everywhere extension.
Dear Google,
Please have extensions on Chrome for Android

I was hype when they released a new tablet edition but then it was only for the new N7 so my old one is gonna stick with CM stable for now.
I just use the AOSP browser from whatever CM/PA ROM I'm using. Its always been the fastest, easiest to use and most stable.
Spent the entire day trying to make the old Froyo beach live wallpaper work.
No progress has been made aside from 2 libraries needed.
I might have a strange emotional attraction to flashing the factory images on my Nexus 4.. It just feels so good to see the image being written and then to see the fresh face of #HOLOYOLO booting up.
It's was reading your posts and decided to try other browsers.
Some of them were a little snappier than Chrome but not by much. Chrome is definitely fast on my phone.
Also, I'm so used to the little things in Chrome, like swiping down the address bar to show all open tabs, or double tapping and them dragging up or down to zoom. Stuff like that.
I was able to bring up the entire js file that is the browser UI on the android version of Firefox.
That also means I can actually change it because stylish is also available for Firefox.
There is no data
There is only XUL
I keep switching between Chrome and Firefox (nightly) on my phone. Chrome is just so slow, but Firefox can be funky at times...Bah.
