It's more like they're holding onto a safe with all your keys inside that only you know the combination to. Where at any time you can copy that safe and view what's inside.
It's like a safe deposit box. The box is actually in the bank's safe and you're turning over responsibility for some of your most valuable possessions, but you know it's secure.
Eh, I don't mind it, not like my Wildfire's carrier logo that fucking played sound
It's not like you're ever looking at that screen for longer than a second either
So google is apparently forcing all manufacturers to add a "Powered by Android" logo on boot up to get the Play Store certification, like the average carrier phone doesn't have enough branding all over it

Yuck
I only restart my phone like once a week or even some cases once in 2-3 weeks or longer. Doesn't bother me at all, though kind of stupid that now you are now notified android is running on this device, despite, at least in the US, every commercial I see of a android device, says what version they are running, usually at least, or it's heavily implied that the device is running some android version.
Well, loads of people are thinking that HTC Sense and TouchWiz are some type of systems, diffirent from Android. Some are even calling Samsung ROMs "Galaxy OS".
It makes sense really, lots of people don't seem to understand that their samsung isn't actually running "samsung thingy" it's running Android :v:
Why do they have to change fucking everything about a ROM to the point where it becomes unrecognizable?
It's not like people stare at the screen when it's booting up

Oh no, I will have to see a logo when I do that thing that I only do every two months!
I have another question: will this be forced for Android forks like MIUI, Kindle and Nokia X?
Any recommended accessories i.e. stands/screen protectors/cases/keyboards for a Nexus 7 2013?
I have another question: will this be forced for Android forks like MIUI, Kindle and Nokia X?
It only applies if you want to ship with Google first party apps or using Google play services. So Kindle and the likes won't apply.
Am I the only person who reboots my phone at least every other day?
Any recommended accessories i.e. stands/screen protectors/cases/keyboards for a Nexus 7 2013?
if you are willing to wait, you can get them for cheap off eBay
want me to throw you some links?

I got this case which is working pretty well. Not too expensive either.
Only if it includes Google services, which is pretty retarded because Google is closing by Android slowly and adding Draconian rules and keeping most new features to their propietary set of applications

To add to my argument some AOSP apps haven't been updated since Gingerbread
So go update them yourself, not google's responsibility.

At first glance I thought it's a Galaxy S2. It's interesting how they still haven't changed the startup logo.
Am I the only person who reboots my phone at least every other day?
I only reboot mine if something goes wonky or I need to access recovery for some reason
I seem to reboot everyday
I seem to reboot everyday
For a fresh start or because your phone is unstable?
With the S4, I'm pretty happy that the boot times are less than 30 seconds.

Remember it's a potato so typical random reboots. That and in order to use the apps I use, I move some of them into the internal system rom partition and if I update them I have to push the update into the system rom partition every time. It's so I don't have 2 copies of GMail on my phone (the updated version and the original stock ROM included version which would be very outdated). That way I can install more crap and run the phone smoother (because more storage for cache and such). The boot times are usually under a minute so realistically it's ok.
That and pulling the battery out happens often since hard rebooting doesn't work sometimes. The camera and WiFi and other radios fuck up often so rebooting fixes it. I usually don't do it for a fresh start because it's going to automagically reboot for no reason anyways.

I know people who refer to the OS as HTC
Yes please add this, I cannot comprehend the stupidity

You're complaining about them changing it, when you obviously just change it from default anyway :v:
What an amazing boot animation
I don't change the boot animation, I see it maybe once a week on my phone, and maybe once a month on my tablet, so I don't see much point in changing it.
We talking about boot animations again?

Does a boot animation with Sanic exist? With the song of course.
Imagine your phone crashes and reboots while you sleep.

I don't give a scuttering fuck about the vanilla animations anymore, I'm just glad I don't have to hear "BEEP BOOP BEEP BOOP" from AT&T every time some background thing drains my phone dry.
