Ah, that's the kind of ambiguity I've come to associate with the Android community.
TWRP is miles better imo, more features + proper touch controls
Yeah, but worse compatibility and, in my experience, can sometimes have nasty bugs. For like, 5 major versions flashing was completely broken on a lot of HTC devices :v: [editline]1st April 2014[/editline]
Ah, that's the kind of ambiguity I've come to associate with the Android community.
Basically, CWM is just a simple modification of the default, AOSP Android recovery with added features to allow one to easily flash what they need, backup capability, etc. TWRP takes it on step further and gives recovery a more user-friendly touch-based UI, greater control over backups, USB-OTG support, and other misc features like theming.

So CWM it is, I guess.
before that, depending on the ROM or whatever, for my potato on GB it was on the power dialog
before the ICS update on my phone it was home+power, like iOS course, samsung was having its "we need apple users to feel comfortable" phase then
I used to have an app on my Optimus M that took screenshots whenever you shook the phone. That got annoying fast. Gooooood times...
Um... Guys... [editline]1st April 2014[/editline] Relevant because potato. [editline]1st April 2014[/editline] Ya'll wanna see the best fucking ingress farm ever? Check out Stockyards in Ft. Worth. Also, I faction swapped a while back. I'm a toad now.
I'm gonna make a comparison video to my potato and a new phone eventually
Using this app to change my font. Anyone else using it by any chance? Is it not meant to affect the stock launcher?
Any way to take a screenshot on a Nexus 7 2013? Power and volume down doesn't seem to work
It should work, there's no other way to do it at least (without third party apps)
should i install the facebook app or messenger app for the sake of being able to be contacted over facebook since a lot have been using it over everything else I use..
should i install the facebook app or messenger app for the sake of being able to be contacted over facebook since a lot have been using it over everything else I use..
If you care about privacy, i suggest you to download the Messenger only and/or get yourself privacy protector apps. If not, well, just download the Facebook APP.
lol Motorola updated their boot images on the Moto X and Moto G yesterday and I see posts on XDA bitching about the removal of "A Google company" from it. Wow :v:
should i install the facebook app or messenger app for the sake of being able to be contacted over facebook since a lot have been using it over everything else I use..
If you don't want to get Facebook's shit on your phone, you could get an XMPP chat thing and connect with that I've used it with pidgin on my desktop before, works okay :v:
TWRP or CWM? I'm so confused.
If you're flashing a 4.4 based rom go with CWM since I'm fairly certain that TWRP doesn't support Kitkat roms yet, at least for the Nexus 4 but TWRP is a lot more useful if you ever softbrick your phone with the file browser
Whaaaaaaaaaat? I have TWRP 2.7 on my Nexus 4 (running 4.4, obviously) and I have yet to see a single issue. It used to be a mess, but now TWRP is actually pretty great and with less stupid ideas than CWM (seriously, the CWM backup is hidden in the worst ever place imaginable).

People at XDA apparently ported Blinkfeed from Sense 6 for other devices. Welp, guess its a F5 marathon for me.
Can I send and receive photos?
I think it sends you a message like "This has an attachment, go to facebook.com/some-message-url to view it" if you receive photos not sure on that though
I also noticed that no one in my circle of firends uses BBM anymore. It's like just no longer on their notification bars.
Welp, I was hoping to keep my Note 3 unrooted and on the stock ROM but it's acting weirdly (Lockscreen clock rarely comes up, keyboard occasionally doesn't do shit in the SMS app) so if I'm going to wipe it, I might as well look into custom ROMs anyway. I didn't see any stable builds so I look at the known issues page: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Known_Issues_page_for_hlte lol, no thanks. I'll probably just end up wiping it, rooting it and removing all the Rogers crap and some Samsung stuff. I paid good money for my phone and I don't want to subject myself to what I did with my Galaxy Nexus, which was jumping to new CyanogenMod updates constantly hoping they'd fix the problems I was having.
Hey I'm due for an upgrade and I can only do a free upgrade with contract with ATT&T and right now it looks like it's between a Refurb GS4 and a new Moto x. Seems the LG G2 is also an option. Thoughts? Would use it for mainly these: -Texting -Navigation -Music -Reddit/Internet -Facebook -Snapchat -Other misc. social apps

Moto X. Want raw power, LG's Android skin, and really good battery life? G2.
Seems like Moto X is the thing for me then. I've done a bunch of more research on differences and advantages of each and Moto X seems to be the winner for me. Thanks for the input guys.
Guys, which of the new flagship phones do you think is better? Xperia Z2 or HTC one m8?
Guys, which of the new flagship phones do you think is better? Xperia Z2 or HTC one m8?
I would go with the M8 myself.
I would take the Z2 mostly because of Sony's water resistance + the superior camera, but that's just me.
I would take the Z2 mostly because of Sony's water resistance + the superior camera, but that's just me.
Z2 looks like least bullshit option this time round
I'm sure loving my stay in Current Location... [T]http://i.gyazo.com/de8afc6086715e4bfb3e0d47a2390f64.png[/t]
