[t]http://i.imgur.com/QNrsnTk.png[/t] I really love the things /r/androidcirclejerk comes up with :v:
Yeah but why doesn't AOSP support over 30fps in the camera app? What a joke.
Yeah but why doesn't AOSP support over 30fps in the camera app? Need that shit so bad
Yeah, does anyone even have that as a feature in a (modern) smartphone? I can't imagine focus is hard to tie to a slider or something.
Also when are Google gonna add manual focus for the cameras? Need that shit so bad
That is really hardware based and how the specific camera module API is like. Almost all of them do not have focus distances, so getting to the same focus point in the focus range will be hard with the exception of closest macro and infinity focus. The module makers ditched it since it would probably be too complicated to make it like an actual camera lens for point and shoot or DSLR cameras and no one would use such features.
Yeah, does anyone even have that as a feature in a (modern) smartphone? With touch-to-focus a manual slider is generally arbitrary. There are a few occasions where finer focus control would be nice, but obviously not enough to justify people spending time on it.
Finally got KitKat on my G2. Only change I've noticed so far is the notification bar icons have changed from blue to white, which looks mighty sexy.

There are a few occasions where finer focus control would be nice, but obviously not enough to justify people spending time on it.
It's going to be hard to notice the differences most of the time since you're on a wide lens and a small sensor compared to other actual cameras for taking photos. This would be useful for taking macro shots especially when tap and focus just doesn't work. Of course a current work around would be to keep trying or focus on something else, lock it and then move the device around to the point where you want the focus to be. I hate how there's always an infinite focus (which blurs EVERYTHING) but never a closest focus point for macro. Only a macro mode. And the handful of other ones. I haven't found an app that can lock focus and never change it after taking a picture. Like every camera app goes to macro or infinity focus point after I take a photo. No matter what focus more I select. This is probably just the Sony camera API being silly. Speaking of focus, why the hell does every devices auto focus on video mode focus pumps so frigging much?
Yeah but why doesn't AOSP support over 30fps in the camera app? What a joke.
Google is actually supposed to break the camera app out of android into the play store soon, and they're supposedly gonna fix all these problems with the software then. [sp]I'll believe it when I see it, honestly.[/sp]

what are some apps that let you map macros or functions to a keyboard that's connected via OTG or Bluetooth? Anything similar for mice?
so, for whatever reason my USB OTG randomly stopped working. It worked yesterday, tried it today, and it just...doesn't work at all. When I plug in the drive, dmesg just spits this out:
<6>[ 1040.358293,0] msm_otg f9a55000.usb: USB in low power mode <6>[ 1041.277784,0] msm_otg f9a55000.usb: USB exited from low power mode <6>[ 1041.494848,0] msm_hsusb_host msm_hsusb_host: Qualcomm On-Chip EHCI Host Controller <6>[ 1041.495260,0] msm_hsusb_host msm_hsusb_host: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 1 <6>[ 1041.524790,0] msm_hsusb_host msm_hsusb_host: irq 166, io mem 0xf9a55000 <6>[ 1041.544525,0] msm_hsusb_host msm_hsusb_host: USB 2.0 started, EHCI 1.00 <6>[ 1041.544706,0] usb usb1: New USB device found, idVendor=1d6b, idProduct=0002 <6>[ 1041.544858,0] usb usb1: New USB device strings: Mfr=3, Product=2, SerialNumber=1 <6>[ 1041.544943,0] usb usb1: Product: Qualcomm On-Chip EHCI Host Controller <6>[ 1041.545092,0] usb usb1: Manufacturer: Linux 3.4.84-gedf6ed6 ehci_hcd <6>[ 1041.545241,0] usb usb1: SerialNumber: msm_hsusb_host <6>[ 1041.547453,0] hub 1-0:1.0: USB hub found <6>[ 1041.547599,0] hub 1-0:1.0: 1 port detected <4>[ 1041.996728,1] IRQ40 no longer affine to CPU1 <6>[ 1044.017821,0] msm_otg f9a55000.usb: USB in low power mode
Anyone have any idea what the hell is going on?
On XDA, shopping for a new ROM (I hate myself for never being happy with one ROM for awhile) Find one that looks nice. Where's the download link?
Download Link: (if it doesn't show up for you, disable ad-blocker, or try a different browser)
FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUCK YYYYOOOOUUUUUUUUUUU
they dont like chrome, they like IE
I don't, um, is that irony?
There I am back to #HOLOYOLO and it feels good Found a CM11 based ROM that doesn't suck, too. All the other ones I tried had the music skip and playback really choppy when the display was off.
Anyone knows if it's possible to do OTA updates on CM11 when your phone is encrypted?
Anyone know of a 4.4+ ROM for the Galaxy Nexus?

The Galaxy S5 was pretty solid. Just dropping by after being gone for years and years. Is everyone still alive?
no touchwiz killed everyone
The Galaxy S5 was pretty solid. Just dropping by after being gone for years and years. Is everyone still alive?
The Sony Potato is still alive and I'm still using it.
The Sony Potato is still alive and I'm still using it.
aw yiss
I for one are very pleased that all the new phones have MicroSD slots. Hopefully they don't have that wanky permissions Google added in 4.4 though that sandboxes apps and prevents them from reading the SD card. I would be well enraged if that were the case.
I don't, um, is that irony?
XDA is retarded [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/10437436/Screenshots/Screenshot_2014-04-09-18-51-18.jpg[/t] It does this for every post in random threads, only on XDA, and only on Android :v:

Why is ATT such garbage. Nothing shows up online for the S5 order, but when I called they said that the order exists and that it will either ship or be here on the 11th. I donut understand :tinfoil:
XDA is retarded [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/10437436/Screenshots/Screenshot_2014-04-09-18-51-18.jpg[/t] It does this for every post in random threads, only on XDA, and only on Android :v:
It seems to sort itself if you change orientation and then back again.
This happens after a recent change in Chrome (or, it's rendering engine, to be exact). Something to do with XDA not having correct padding information or whatever. Switching to landscape and back to potrait fixes it. Not sure if other browsers are affected. XDA is a retarded forum anyway. 80% of the ROM/kernels threads are filled with off topic waste without any useful information (seriously, hells-core kernel thread is filled with people talking about relationships and their work and countries every second page), and if you ask a question about something that was never asked, you get told to fuck off and search 70000 pages.
