[editline]11th April 2014[/editline]
Also does this make me the "old phone" guy now, with an S2 Skyrocket?
I have an S2 i9100 lavacano :) although I do also have a Nexus 7 (2013)
Not that active in the thread, but Nexus S (I9023) here :v:
God damn shutter is a fine ass piece of screenshot software. It's pretty much as good as ShareX is on Windows.
I only just noticed I posted this in the wrong thread.
I've never used any screen protector, do they have a big impact on touch responsiveness?
Would you guys recommend using matte screen protectors?
I saw my friend using one on his phone and thought it looked nice, so should I buy one, or is there some big disadvantage?
Get a glass one, way better than anything else out there.
Get a glass one, way better than anything else out there.
Putting another pane of glass over your glass is a bit much imo. I just get a multipack of decent plastic ones for cheap. I never usually have to use more than one anyway.
Get a glass one, way better than anything else out there.
Hm, I'll have to try that sometime for my Nexus 5. I just remember people saying tat it's really hard to install because the glass doesn't really bend much and it's hard to alighn, etc.

you're not supposed to bend, you're supposed to hinge it on

Make a tape hinge, make sure it drops in place correctly a few times, clean off ALL the dust and check for dust with a bright flashlight/light bulb, then remove the adhesive protector, drop, that's it.
ok I'll give it a try. any recommended glass screen protectors? I see a ton on eBay starting at around $9

Make sure it has the anti-shatter film. Don't go thicker than .4mm. Make sure it has oleophobic coating.
Spigen makes real nice looking, thin ones for $35-40
Their cases are designed to fit around it too

They're also totally overpriced. Even MIME USA is really pricey at ~25 dollars, and they have the same quality protectors.
Took S4 out of pocket today, hairline crack going from top to bottom and I didn't hit it against anything it just cracked of natural causes. Fucking shits me so much. Is there anything I can do about it? Can I claim it under warranty since this is clearly a manufacturer defect since there is no physical damage to the phone other than a fucking hairline crack.
Just got myself a Sony Xperia Z.
How come music and notification sounds USUALLY play through the ear speaker instead of the bigass speaker on the bottom of it?
The phone is incredibly quiet, and it's easy to miss calls because I can't hear them.
Observations:
- If I restart the phone, it will work for a while and it'll use the bottom speaker, but then after a while it switches back to using the ear speaker.
- After the problem has occured, if I go into the settings and turn on and off "touch sounds", it will temporarily work again for maybe 20 seconds.
My Nexus 4 does this all the time, regardless of whether I'm using stock Android or Cyanogenmod.
Here is just suddenly drops so fast (it got very hot in my pocket) then keeps having random sharp drops.

Look at this one, the battery is draining even though it's charging because it's using so much!
[t]http://i.imgur.com/WpDpmoa.png[/t]
Every now and then these massive drops happen and my entire phone is literally too hot to touch, often making me worried the battery will catch on fire in a thermal runaway.
If it's just bad hardware then I'm screwed because it's out of warranty by now.
your phone is going to explode run away from it immediately

I'm guessing anti-shatter = anti-burst (because Chinese to English translation)

The first pic I took with my S5, testing the camera. Not my car, just the first thing I saw after going outside. Default settings, no fancy HDR or anything.

Seems to be a p good camera, it's currently bleak spring in Finland so the sunlight is coming through clouds and there's no greenery growing yet.

Check if it's charging via USB or AC when its charging. (Just click battery section in settings) some cables charge via USB even if its in socket (incase its one of those usb chargers that connect via a usb cable and micro usb on phone.

I know, but even so, it should charge via computer USB if nothing is going on.
I think I have a broken antenna controller which takes a lot of battery and makes it get really hot.

That's quite a decent foto indeed.
New update for the Steam app, bringing it up to version 1.8.
This is a very minor update. All this adds is the ability to have line breaks in your messages, similar to that when you press the enter key on your keyboard on a computer.

I have absolutely loved my S4, I've had it from release date. Should I get the S5 if I've been really happy with the S4? It's been everything I've wanted in a phone.
I'm not sure if I should trust in Samsung and just go along with the S5, or if I should look at alternatives (but not the iPhone, I had the iPhone 4 for 2 years and I hated it).

There is absolutely no need to upgrade from an S4. Don't waste your money.
I always thought it was someone who had an asian car that was modified to shit, but according to Urban Dictionary that's the second most common description of a ricer.
This is what has the most votes for Ricer:
(Ricer: from the latin word Ricarius meaning to suck at everything you attempt)
A person who makes unecessary modifications to their most often import car (hence the term "rice") to make it (mostly make it look) faster.
Doesn't have to be a Japanese car to be riced.

Unless you really, REALLY value IP67 ratings, don't bother.
