i hope they actually get icon sizes right for once
Some of those make sense when vertically centered like:

And I think the guidelines go something like when making squares and circles, make the square corners match the 4 diagonals of the circles rather than the top, left, right, and bottom of circle.
Also I just noticed the Calendar is folded/bent/whatever the wrong way, as if you're going back in time.
I noticed that the shadows on the icons seem to all be at the same angle

I might put these into an icon pack tomorrow, also make the rest of the icons in that style too. Maybe...

I think they're going for flip clock style type thing. So it would make senses then.

6 months is a lot of charging cycles for a battery ya know
I guess I'll have to roll back to the earlier version of the LG rom on my G2, because the Kitkat update broke the audio through headphones.
Or since I'm at it, I could try some of the custom roms. Is there anything particular that works the best on the G2 or should I just flash Cyanogenmod or something similar?
So, I think I'm sticking with SlimKat on my Moto G. It's stable, it runs great, and it actually has some genuinely useful features...Plus SlimRecents is nice.

Slimkat is a genuinely great ROM. It makes my GNex feel sort of new...ish again. Although I didn't install wipe when I upgraded from SlimROM JellyBean, so I keep finding little random crashes from app data not being cleared.
God damn it, I should have bought more than one screen protector.
Fucked it up, dust and bubbles everywhere. :/

Ohhh boy, even if the phones don't ship until Friday, I fronted the 15 bux for next day shipping so hopefully I'll have them before the end of the week.
Speaking of shipping, Nexus 5 package should arrive in the middle of this week. Woo.

Try the barebones AOKP ROM. Very nice, clean, and virtually no bloatware. Been rocking it for a few days now and it's rock solid, much more so than Mahdi (tends to get choppy and SUCKS at battery life) and PA (not really that smooth, tends to get crashy sometimes). Best LG-centric ROM would probably be CloudyStock/CloudyFlex/CloudyPro (emphasis on Flex). Ignore CM right now because it's a bugfest. Ignore Carbon and Slim for the same reasons. BareBones is probably the most stable I've tried so far and offers the best battery life.
But this is all true for my variant, the D803. If our variants are dramatically different, then my experiences may not translate over to your device. I say make backups with TWRP and just take a few hours out of your day and try everything.

I'm using SlimKat on my Note 2 and it's everything I wanted in a ROM. No bullshit, just customizable enough, not vomiting shitty useless features all over the place.
aghhh get here already!!!

Praise the lord baby jesus, etc. they shipped. Two separate packages is weird though, but oh well 3 S5s tomorrow!

Good honest review of the S5.

There really does need to be more innovation in general when it comes to smartphones.

People are used to galaxy phones getting glowing reviews, so of course as soon as one comes along that isn't a 9 or 10 out of 10 people start flinging shit.
At this point it's hard to go wrong buying a smartphone it's just Samsung seem to be the only manufacturer not pushing the envelope.

I tried reading more than a few of the comments but Chrome closed the page to protect me from massive amounts of butt hurt.

That one long comment was bad enough for me to use the b-word for the first time in ages. Does he not know half The Verge switched to giant Android phones?
best root snapchat saver?
:)
I dunno, I don't really care what some review site says about a phone. The only smartphones I've had were iPhones, a 3GS and my current 4, and I only got them because they were the free with 2yr contract dealios so they were already like 3 years old. This S5 is gonna be my first actual 'new' phone and I'm ready for it.
