it was seriously hilarious though, did you read it? it makes so little sense. http://www.androidpolice.com/2014/04/06/rumor-googles-plan-to-bridge-chrome-android-and-search-to-do-everything-on-your-device/
So I fuckin' love my S5.

The update part at the end makes a lot more sense.
Well it is speculations

notice the shadows
gmail is an older version according to throwaway man so it might have just not been updated with the new icons yet
LG has done it!!

What is your battery like?
Galaxy Note II or LG G2?
[editline]15th April 2014[/editline]
Or maybe HTC One?
What is your battery like?
Not too terrible, but I haven't actually used it normally yet, I've just been jerkin around with it so far. I'll report back tomorrow after a normal day

The one on the right looks more legit because it follows the same icon style as the current Google Rewards app.

I've been getting somewhat poor battery life. Its been comparable to my iPhone 4, which hardly made it through my 8 hour day. Only on usage though, the standby on the phone is great. Slept 11 hours last night and it only lost 2%, while my iPhone would have lost 15-20%.

welp time to wait 6 months for samsung to release 4.4.3 for the S5
[editline]16th April 2014[/editline]
ok i take that back
Damn, since i installed BlinkFeed on my N4, I can't look back at the stock launcher anymore.
I have also been slowly trying to make my N4 look more like a One.
Just upgraded to Kitkat 4.4.2 for the HTC One, but at first I ignored the warning about "You need S-OFF, otherwise you'll experience boot-loop!"
Needless to say-- after I was stuck in a boot-loop where it even failed to boot into recovery mode I started panicking, but then I researched that I just had to clear the cache with the Android fastboot tool.
fastboot erase cache
It did the trick to un-soft-brick it, but immediately after, while I was rebooting from a freshly installed older ROM (seriously it was working just fine), my phone was seemingly bricked without recovery again.
It had symptoms of booting with a black screen and a solid orange charging LED (regardless of having the charger in). Buttons did nothing, but holding the power button for 5 seconds caused the orange LED to disappear, and it was also seemingly capable of power-cycling from holding the power button for 15 seconds.
I thought it was impossible to get back into recovery mode, but then I noticed the phone was booting itself regardless of pressing any buttons. (Keeping it from registering my power button + volume down button requests to boot into recovery mode)
I'm guessing it was repeatedly trying to complete a task, forcibly booting itself, but couldn't.
Realizing it was powering itself on, to get to the recovery screen I just had to force it off by holding the power button for 15 seconds, and as soon as the front led's stop flashing I immediately held down the volume-down button and spammed the power button which got me into recovery normally where I was capable of doing a factory reset and ROM install!
After the horrific double soft-brickings I followed this guide to get S-Off: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43636271
And was able to install the "Android Revolution HD 6.1 Google Edition" 4.4.2 rom successfully!
tl;dr Bricked my phone, un-bricked it, bricked it again, then finally got it working with the latest firmware and software.
Just felt obligated to post my problems and solutions for other poor internet nomads with the same problems.
Ok back to the problem, I've been fiddling around trying to flash it with Odin, as I haven't managed to brick the device so far and can still enter download mode. Here is where I am now
[T]http://i.imgur.com/PJ6TAfi.jpg[/T]
Samsung splash screen, and then it boots straight into TWRP, this also happened while I had the original OS (gingerbread 2.3.5) intact.
[T]http://i.imgur.com/IYVYetD.jpg[/T]
Also, here's a image of the OS .zip I'm trying to install
[T]http://i.imgur.com/bB9AIu6.jpg[/T]
I've also tried to flash a newer version of TWRP, no dice.
So what should I try now? Try to flash a CWM recovery image to it using Odin? I've avoided CWM because it's not supported on my device and I couldn't find a good replacement for it.
[editline]16th April 2014[/editline]
Ok I've been flying blind the entire fucking time. In order to install Kitkat 4.4, I need to at least have TWRP 2.6.3.0 OR CWM 6.0.4.5 installed. I've got version 2.2.1
Oh well, at least I managed to come this far to not brick the device yet.
I am a motherfucking DUMBASS. As soon as I'm finished with school I'll make a attempt to flash a modified version of CWM onto it using Odin.
Speaking of which, I had the problem that you have to download a certain script file, which Windows keeps reading as a .txt file, making it unreadable for Odin, is there some way to solve that?

aaannnddd you still didn't post a picture of the flash output itself, which would have most likely clearly revealed that you were running an ancient recovery version. A+

Note 2 has a 267 ppi display so into the trash it goes.

Is the Xperia Z1 Compact still worth buying?
My Nexus 4 is dying after having it since last february, battery isn't holding up nearly as well even after a factory reset. It also periodically gets to 1%, dies on 0% then won't turn back on or appear to be charging until I press and hold the power button and volume down buttons after its been on charge about 30 minutes.
Also really tired of having such a large phone, it doesn't fit in my hand at all and I can't reach the top left hand corner.
Next problem is finding it cheap enough to buy it outright.

It's probably still the most powerful phone you can get in that size. I would also look into the Moto G best price to performance and the screen is 4.5 inches so only 0.2 bigger than the compact.
So looking at teardowns of the Nexus 5, I had an idea for making extended batteries like the zerolemon work

Unclip the back cover, clip the extender in with a battery filling up the new space, then the original cover on top. Use pogopins to connect the antennas and a bit of clear plastic for the flash
My note is still screwing with me when it comes to Battery Life. One time it holds for 2 days and then it does this shit
[t]http://a.pomf.se/ifnhha.png[/t]
From ~60% to 0% in an instant..

Oopsie daisy, forgot about that. Sorry, doing this with a smartphone is the first time EVER for me. Usually I'm more occupied with computers than Android devices.
I hope its still there because I've wiped the internal and external storage a few times since I flashed the OS image.
all this 4.4.3 stuff going around.
Since this is the first time I've actually needed to update an android, and further it's rooted (CF-AUTO),
How would I go updating my Nexus 5?
I'm guessing I'd have to wait for someone to release something when the OS is more avaliable

Did you really just make that sexy gif just to show what you meant?
I snapped some pics with my S5

You'll get a notification when its available and update through the phone (settings->about phone->system updates), though you'll lose root when you do it.
You could also download the OTA zip and install it that way (which is the only way to do it if you are running a custom recovery), but you would still lose root
Well, I just got Kitkat working. It runs so damn smooth on my GT-I9001
Also, I just noticed I have 3G access while my SIM card is only activated for phone and SMS usage. How is this possible? When I ran Gingerbread I was trying to enable 3G as well for the hell of it and I never got a 3G reception when enabling it.

I can make CAD drawings faster than I can hand draw something good :v:
Apparently someone made the new Moonshine icons a pack on Google Play:

I'd say it turned out pretty nice.
