I use mms if I am selling stuff online and people want more details of the item. Other than that, I don't use it.
Adoption of alternatives is too slow, though. People in the US don't use anything else, really. If your flag is accurate, I'm sure you've experienced this. MMS is the only thing that's even close to universally adopted here.
Yeah, definitely still the standard. Doesn't mean it's a good one.
I use MMS to send images when I can't use my computer. [T]http://i.imgur.com/uryq29T.png [/T] Never understood why Blackberries send MMS like that. (dad threw a shitfit if you want to know why my headset that I spent money on for STUDYING SIX WEEKS FOR AN EXAM broke )
also they have a classic theme that makes it look like old ES but old ES looks worse
Old ES is WAY better. You can actually determine what file types are which unlike new ES in which every single fucking file looks exactly the same.
Still looking for an sms app, tried stock messaging ported from 4.1 jelly bean. Mms doesn't even work.
Try GO SMS Pro (most powerful), Handcent SMS, ChompSMS, Pansi SMS
Who the fuck uses mms.
Everybody I know uses MMS. It really depends on what country you live in. I send a few MMS pictures a month and usually end up using about 5-10% of my monthly phone usage quota and my plan only costs $11/mth. MMS is very convenient because everybody can use it
Anybody down to create a FP-tech Hangout?
Any opinions on the HP Slatebook x2? It looks like exactly what I need, keen for the release.
Any opinions on the HP Slatebook x2? It looks like exactly what I need, keen for the release.
Hell, I'd buy it, and I've had enough tablets to leave a sour taste in my mouth for years.
Ever heard of whatsapp, hangout, dropbox share? [editline]22nd May 2013[/editline] Seriously, mms on a smartphone is useless and expensive.
I'm using sms and I finally got it. No one uses WhatsApp or Hangouts(Talk).
I'd love to use hangouts with my new plan (unlimited data), but sadly no one have the same opportunity as me.
I'm dicking around with launchers and settled on Smart Launcher. What's a good lockscreen replacement with shortcuts to messaging and cameras at a minimum? I'm using Go Locker so far and it's alright but it seems only the paid version has a camera shortcut. I would stick with the stock Samsung one if there was a way to change the wallpaper while not in TouchWiz... And I hate the font on it.
Is there any SMS app that has a popup but a non-intrusive one? Go SMS's popup is just getting irritating
CyanogenMod mms.apk does (it's a modified version of the stock Android messaging app) I believe it's available as a separate download on XDA. edit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39294551

So I managed to get a second hand Galaxy S with a broken screen for £20, tonight starts what I am referencing to as operation swapMoBo

Is this true?
Pretty sure there is an option for that, I don't have the app atm. [editline]22nd May 2013[/editline] From a quick google search: "I think I may have figured this out. I have re-enabled homehelper and it seems to behave now. Pressing home button brings up the WL lockscreen now." And if you have root, if I can remember correctly, this shouldn't be a problem at all. edit: "Update: perhaps homehelper was not the reason for the fix afterall. I think changing to SuperSU from Superuser was the reason for WL to start behaving properly. Hope this helps somebody else - Use SuperSU instead!"

Guys, question: Remember the special Galaxy Nexus battery cover with android icons printed over it? this: [t]http://fs02.androidpit.info/userfiles/689923/image/galaxynexuscreenshot.png[/t] How could people get it back in the day? Was it only for Google employees? Since I'm pretty sure a guy at my work has one. ... likely running Android 4.0 (has the 4.0ish search bar border on his homescreen) :suicide:
(has the search bar border on his homescreen)
I know Apex Launcher gives you an option to use ICS search bar even if you're on JB, so it could be that.
I know Apex Launcher gives you an option to use ICS search bar even if you're on JB, so it could be that.
Possible, which is why I said "likely". But hell, I'm willing to bet it's Android 4.0 :v: [editline]22nd May 2013[/editline] Drive app gets updated! http://officialandroid.blogspot.com/2013/05/a-smoother-drive-app-for-android.html [editline]22nd May 2013[/editline] aaaaaaand I can't access any file after the update. great. aaaand Chrome is updated. Finally with fullscreen! [editline]22nd May 2013[/editline] Tab history on tablets - Long press the browser back button to view your tab history why is this shit tablet exclusive?
so the Chrome voice search thing got an update, and from what I've heard you can just say "OK Google" at google.com and the voice search opens up, but that bit isn't working, clicking the microphone works though, anybody else having this problem? also, Google on the desktop always thinks I live in a city that's atleast 50 miles away from where I am, is there a way to change it
Yeah, seems like "okay, google" will be in the next update, or needs a server-side launch. Mic button works though. However, I'd like an extension button next to the URL bar, that could launch the action from anywhere.

What do you think about Huawei Ascend Y300? Is it a real improvement over my ZTE Blade 1? I personally like its design, but I just want to know if there's a good reason to avoid the phone.
God my S2 is awful when it comes to performance. It's most likely my ROM. Anyone know a good one? I prefer AOKP over AOSP. Also, can anyone else confirm that deleting the Facebook app makes the phone much faster? My stepfather told me that he had moved over to Google+, and after deleting the Facebook app the phone felt much faster. Like a new phone.
Oh wow, AirDroid is even better now. You can like take pictures from your browser, and you can stream the preview in real time, a.k.a. security cam or whatever.
