Huh. It seems like its enabled by default and it kinda pisses me off.
I haven't checked recently, but before the camera update, when using HDR on the Nexus 5, it disables flash altogether
so apparently this happens if you leave your tablet sitting off for like 2 months [t]https://s3.amazonaws.com/pushbullet-uploads/udbN6-YHtk95FuYlJt9KvebIPoWbvDREsrg7ma/Screenshot_2014-04-21-21-12-03.png[/t]

My sister's Note 3 looked like that about a day after she got it, it's painful
How.... why... they are notifications....oh god. This makes something in my mind irk really really bad
My sister's Note 3 looked like that about a day after she got it, it's painful
My tablet does it because it gets the same notifications as my phone and because it's in immersive mode all the time. I need a widget on my homescreen that shows my notifications or someshit.
I oversee people on trains who's notifications are maxed out... and they're constantly using their phone :suicide:
I don't mean to make it worse but they probably don't even know you can swipe the notification bar down... Also while we're on the topic of battery meters, went home for Easter and my dad was showing get me some photos on his n7. He had a battery meter and a wide meter in his notifications. He was also running a memory cleaner and swipe clearing his apps after using them. Normally he's spot on with technology but Android makes him go full pleb for some reason.
Okay guys what is the best way to apply a screen protector? Last time I fucked it up immensely, so this time I bought three and want to get it perfect. Giev help pls.
you don't need a screen protector [editline]22nd April 2014[/editline] ok here how to apply a screen protector step 1: don't
Okay guys what is the best way to apply a screen protector? Last time I fucked it up immensely, so this time I bought three and want to get it perfect. Giev help pls.
Do it in the bathroom after having a shower, the steam apparently helps get dust out of the air Get a microfiber cloth and clean your screen, I mean go OCD on that motherfucker, don't leave a single speck of dust on it. Look at the reflection of the ceiling light to spot any tiny bits Poke out any punched hole things the screen protector has, some of the cheap ones leave them in Peel off about 1cm of the first layer and align it with the top of your screen, then slowly peel the rest off and lower it down, if you mess up, gently lift it off using the last layer's tab thing and keep trying Push any air bubbles out to the edge with a credit card, then peel off the final layer that's how I did it, and it's perfect If you have trouble with the alignment, you can try tape-hinging, where you align it without removing any of the layers, tape down one edge so it's like a hinge, then peel the back off and drop it on
When applying vinyl in industry, we skim the surface with water first, which the vinyl floats on. Once it's positioned correctly you use a spreader to push all of the water out, allowing the vinyl to adhere. I guess if you're applying to a screen with no speakers or anything on it you could use a similar method.

They normally use adhesive tape to get rid of bubbles and thinner to clean.

Cleaning all of that gunk using the micro fibre cloth that usually comes with the screen protector is bad and makes it harder to clean small stuff off. Use the cloth it comes with to clean off stuff at the very end. Oh and make sure it isn't some shitty cloth that breaks apart into small bits like one of my screen protectors I bought off eBay. Using that method kinda forces the 1st film you peel off to push any dust left over if you do it properly and fast enough. Only place of error is not aligning it right on the first go where you could use tape hinging to align the top of the film beforehand. The tape hinging method is what my friends always use. They say it's what the professionals use. Ok. I remember spending 20 minutes trying to apply a screen protector for my potato in a humid room after a shower. Never again. Some places actually charge you an installation fee. *cough cough* Best Buy. Most Asian stores do free installation like the one I got for my Potato for $5 over a year ago. Just ask if they can install it for free. Or you can go to eBay, buy a multi-pack of the same thing for literally less than what you'd pay for at the store, wait for 3-6 weeks for it, then mess up the installs as much as you'd like. Buying it at the store only if you really need it now and you really want someone else to install it. Or if you're not a cheap ass.
This is what I'm looking at to repair my phone, lovely
Couldn't you just buy the screen assembly for around 60$ and then install it yourself? Though I don't know how hard that would be on a nexus.
This is what I'm looking at to repair my phone, lovely
Well it seems they have the pricing for the OEM screen right.
I have no experience in phone fixing and even if I was to try I'd fear that I would fuck it up
maybe some friends can help you with that.
maybe some friends can help you with that.
Nobody I know repairs phones, but I'm going around comparing prices the last thing I want to is fork out a lot of money for something I could probably get cheaper
All these places are 2 hours from me as well via public transport so this is going to be a real pain in the ass
Oh god I know that feeling
Also while we're on the topic of battery meters, went home for Easter and my dad was showing get me some photos on his n7. Otherwise I just have GravityBox running, circle power with percentage in the middle, replacing the vanilla icon.
About the screen protectors, didn't bother to read if anyone mentioned the hinge method yet: 1) wipe your device with a very slightly wet tissue (just so you get smudges and stuff away easily, SLIGHTLY wet) 2) wipe with dry tissue 3) polish with microfiber cloth 4) polish with microfiber cloth even more 5) no seriously, more microfiber, this is important 6) tilt it against direct light to see tiny pieces of dust 7) wipe them away with microfiber 8) place protector on phone 9) use two/3 (depending on size of your phone) bits of duct tape as hinges to keep the protector perfectly in place 10) use small piece of duct tape and repeatedly tap the entire display, this ensures there's seriously no dust or shit that would stay under the protector 11) peel protective layer off screen protector 12) apply protector 13) push out bubbles 14) you should now have a perfect screen protector installation. You can look up youtube videos on this. I've done this twice so far, both times in my dusty room and both times it worked perfectly and there was no dust or anything under the protector.
I'd say use scotch tape instead of duct tape, but otherwise I've used that method with reasonable success as well.
I just use Scotch or masking tape for that.
Oh, right. Language barrier :v: Yeah, scotch tape is what I meant.

Like who's idea was it to make the percent digits white on a white background.
Got a google survey the other day, got 20c out of it, just checked and got the same one, filled it in again and got $1 :v: [editline]23rd April 2014[/editline] Anything worth getting for $3.20?

Thank you guys for the useful tips regarding screen protectors! Just applied it and it's almost perfect, there is just a tiny piece of dirt in the bottom corner but I can ignore that. Or is it possible to lift it up without getting dirt under it and removing that shit?
Welp, change of plan. My dad's getting a 4S and I'll be getting his HTC One in about 2-3 days, gg wp.
