my S5 just died because it was telling me to use the pedometer every 10 minutes. good job samsung.
I just tried copying crap from my Nexus 5 onto computer connected as a media device and I was able to copy over 5.8GB in 3 minutes and 20 seconds.
3 minutes and 20 seconds equals to 200 seconds
5.8GB/200=0.029GB/s*1024(to convert from GB/s to MB/s)= 29.696MB/s which is pretty much the realistic peak of which USB 2.0 transfers stuff.
That's pretty fast for offloading stuff considering my Patriot class 10 32GB microSDHC card can only do 15MB/s read.
Good idea to point out that it's much faster NAND flash storage that's being used.
I haven't tried writing stuff but I'd imagine it's painfully slow if everyone is complaining about it
does it still use mtp?
no matter how much i waited (i waited for 20 minutes) it never came back. the only thing it did was reboot randomly after a while.
i love this wallpaper! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cyphercove.audioglow

ive been experiencing this for the past few days with cm11 (not anymore because omnirom) -- my entire systemui would freeze. no more softkeys or notification bar, and indeed i had to turn off my screen and hope itd turn back on or just wait for systemui to crash -- if ever. so its apparently a very common issue? kinda surprised.
Yes I think they fucked something up a couple nightlies back and for some reason it's not getting fixed. Guess I'll give omnirom a try then. Anything I might miss from cm?
Browsing fp is weird on Chrome.

torch thingy next to the google now orb thing, some minor tweaks that you can get with gravitybox anyways without any conflicts.

oh and random crashes and slowdowns too i guess. i dont think youll miss that though.

Like Gran PC said, a lot of the control that CM gives you is available through GravityBox (which you should have if you consider yourself a power user in any regard.) There's some weird stuff I'm trying to get used to like OmniSwitch, but having a stable phone with decent developer support is pretty damn nice.
Also my battery life tripled compared to CM. Went to bed last night at around 11 and didn't have my charger since I was at the GF's place, dropped a total of 7% when I checked it at 8AM. I'm not kidding. On CM, I would have Google Services related wakelocks everywhere. My battery would be completely empty in 24 hours regardless of if I used it or not.
Also Omni ships with that badass new camera app.
I want to switch to Omnirom but I don't want to have to set up all my stuff again.
use titanium backup. it's amazing.

Does titatium backup stuff like whatsapp history?
Does titatium backup stuff like whatsapp history?
Yeah, but whatsapp does it's own backup to the sdcard so you won't lose your messages anyway.

I was thinking more for syncing it to Dropbox.. Mainly for phones without external sd cards in the event it breaks (As you can probably tell I have been stung by this before and lost all my data)

Titanium can do that yes.
favorite keyboard?
favorite keyboard?
Google Keyboard of course. Although Fleksy comes in next.
SwiftKey all the way
Holy crap Xcom:EU is on the play store now. It's a bit steep at $9.99, but Damn do I love this game.
Damnit, Google Keyboard isn't supported on my device, what are the requirements for that application anyway? Right now it's running KitKat 4.4.2
What is your device?
god fucking damn it google keyboard isn't available in my country
why the fuck would you do that?
can somebody upload an apk?
i can't remember what i did but i somehow got it on my google account even though it's not available in my country
you can get the apk with http://apps.evozi.com/apk-downloader/
I'd use Google keyboard but I love the SwiftKey predictions.
Google keyboard also has predictions, as well as swyping.
Swiftkey has better symbol input.
You wouldn't think this is much of a big deal, but having a numpad style layout for the numbers is the greatest shit ever when your university login is a 7-9 digit string of numbers.
Google keyboard sucks, sorry

How bad can a keyboard actually be?

I find swiping from the ?123 key to the number quite nice.
I like how I can scale the keyboard size of SwiftKey. I can't with Google keyboard.
I like how I can scale the keyboard size of SwiftKey. I can't with Google keyboard.
This. I don't want my keyboard to take up half of my screen.
It's even more annoying on a nexus 7 2013, typing in portrait using Google keyboard was almost impossible. SwiftKey scaling to the smallest keyboard size made it possible to type stuff.
Also after having used swiftkey for however long, it has its predictions for you so when you switch to Google keyboard its a load of shit.
