Thank you. Definitely getting it now. People were saying the screen was not bright enough or not visible in sunlight, is that true at all?
Only Nexus 5 I found outside viewing to be meh
My Galaxy S3 is abysmal outdoors, even on max brightness. Seems Samsung is finally starting to figure out screens now though.
Any must have/good xposed modules? On a Nexus 5
Any must have/good xposed modules? On a Nexus 5
GravityBox XposedGELSettings XuiMod YouTube Adaway Xprivacy Most are interface modifiers
I still haven't had a single questionnaire from Google opinion rewards.
Uhhh I don't think DNS servers matter here, all they do is resolve a domain and send you to the IP of the machine associated with it. Doesn't mask your IP, they'd still block you normally.
I'm using DNS servers from Unblock-us.com, and I get american Netflix as if I were living in the states.
Any must have/good xposed modules? On a Nexus 5
i have these: Burnt Toast (shows app icons in toast notifications) GravityBox (lots of things) LWInRecents (shows live wallpaper in recents) SPDY (claims to improve http performance, not sure if it does) Smooth System Progress Bars (yes) ViewInPlay ("view in play" for apps) Xposed GEL Settings (google launcher settings, get this from the play store) Xposed Preference Injector (puts xposed things in settings) XuiMod (interface mods)
I still haven't had a single questionnaire from Google opinion rewards.
I got a few so far.
Google Play Services has recently been draining my battery like CRAZY for some reason. Any idea what might have caused this and what I can do about it? http://i.imgur.com/iiakM4z.png (Can't embed the image for some reason...)
Try clearing the cache (not app data) of GPlay Services. Used to help me. However, do expect 24-48 hours of a lot of wakelocks before GPlay Services "calms down" after clearing the cache. Edit: I've seen some people on Reddit claim that the high usage happened after a certain (recent) Services update and clearing the cache helped them, too.
I just disabled google play services. Solved the problem and had no adverse effects.
I just disabled google play services. Solved the problem and had no adverse effects.
Some apps like Hangouts and maybe G+ will complain about it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2702001 I remember seeing the Z2 was rooted on xperiablog a few weeks back, so I dug out the link, if you haven't seen this already. Before a device is out, Doomlord somehow always manages to get a dump of the FW and root it before it comes out. Though if you don't want to unlock your bootloader, a simpler version might come out later.
There's massive flaw with this though. You first need to unlock your bootloader then flash that which will erase your DRM keys which you need for Sony things to work but in order to save those keys you need root which is obtained only through that method at the moment, sort of a cycle.
Yeah, when I get my Z2, I won't root it until there is a better way. I'm going to see if I can stick to the stock ROM and make all the changes I want through Xposed modules instead of flashing things (which would require a deodexed ROM).

The fucking sparkles when he shoots it, holy shit
I don't like seeing super expensive things get destroyed. I know that they make the money back from views but it's still a waste.
The fact he does it for money makes it kind of okay for me, but I can't stand the people who do it for no good reason. Like that guy who destroyed that PS4 or those people smashing their phones in advance for the Oneplus contest (which is not even covered by the contest). Also, did you guys hear that Oneplus is funded by Oppo?
I don't like seeing super expensive things get destroyed. I know that they make the money back from views but it's still a waste.
This reminds me of the outrage over the "smash your phone for a OnePlus One" campaign. The people who are so actively against it are so cute. Nobody is forcing the contestants to destroy their phones. It's their money and their decision to destroy their own equipment. If they're stupid enough to do that for a slightly better phone, I say let them.
I think most people that are against it is because they're promoting the destruction of these phones, when they could be donated to a charity or sold to someone else. [editline]28th April 2014[/editline] Also, am I the only person that always thought the OnePlus One was an Oppo phone?
Seems like Moto 360 doesn't have an always-on display. Bye Moto 360, hello LG G Watch. http://www.theverge.com/2014/4/28/5653274/motorola-moto-360-chicago-headquarters
... if it weren’t for the blank circular display dominating the face... ... the display turned on a couple times while we were chatting...
Why do you need it to be always on? If they somehow made it so it only turns on when I need it to (and it works) I'm happy.

Seems like a terrible thing for a company to condone.
Why do you need it to be always on? If they somehow made it so it only turns on when I need it to (and it works) I'm happy.
Because the thing about a watch is you only need to glance at it.
Why do you need it to be always on? If they somehow made it so it only turns on when I need it to (and it works) I'm happy.
When I look at a watch, I want to see the time (and in the case of a smartwatch probably some more quick info like a quick display/summary of notifications) instantly. IF the Moto 360 requires ANY user action other than a simple and always reproducible hand twist (basically the movement you do when you look at your watch), I don't want it near me. Plus, I'm not sure if I missed it or not, but I didn't see any info about Moto 360's waterproofing. Can it stand pouring water, heavy rain or being submerged for a few minutes? The LG G Watch already has an always-on display and water resistance confirmed, so right now it's winning for my choice of an Android Wear watch.
Can't smashing lithium ion batteries cause a fire? Seems like a terrible thing for a company to condone.
I'm not saying the contest isn't stupid, it is. But the people who are like "OMG DON'T SMASH YOUR PHONE FOR A ONEPLUS ONE" are crazy. Let stupid people be stupid. It's called natural selection. Also, in case some of you don't know the vid already, this is what smashing a battery can do :v:

I also love how during the drop tests, the G Flex had a screen protector on...
So this is kind of an odd question, but I recently got a replacement S3 (running 4.3) since the LCD on my old one cracked and I was wondering, is there anyway to get around the locked 4.3 bootloader? I had cyanogen mod on my old one and I'm rather fond of it. I was also considering swapping the internals of the two phones, but I'm not entirely sure if that would help anything. Advice?
Here have a side by side shot of the back of the nexus 5 black and white editions [t]http://i.imgur.com/crJnQAb.jpg[/t]
I so just swapped the old motherboard and put it into the new, and it works. Hello unlocked bootloader!
SwiftKey all the way
I want to still like swiftkey, but it's so slow, even on a 1.5GHz snapdragon s3 Or maybe my galaxy S blaze is getting old
