I want to still like swiftkey, but it's so slow, even on a 1.5GHz snapdragon s3
Or maybe my galaxy S blaze is getting old
I haven't really run into lag issues with SwiftKey so far on the nexus 5. Tons of lag on my potato because potato. Google keyboard does seem snappier when it's brought up and down.
The stereo in my car has a USB port. I've always been using that USB port to plug my iPod in to play music and it works flawlessly. Today, I tried plugging my Galaxy S4 into the USB port to play music and it doesn't work.
Is there a way to get it to work, or does my stereo not support Androids, or does my phone not support USB audio?
The stereo can only read USB removable media (like a USB stick, or most music players).
Android and iOS serve media via MTP nowadays - you can either forget about it, or go to Settings -> Storage -> menu button at top right -> USB computer connection -> enable Mass Storage.

I'm able to connect my phone as a Media Device (MTP). I can't seem to figure out how to enable Mass Storage if that isn't correct.
My Android version is 4.4.2. Do I need to root my phone to Enable Mass Storage?
Got my Nexus 5 and activated it on MetroPCS (I don't have the money for contracts). I love the phone so far. I just need games to play on it, because i honestly feel like it's in a way just not being used to it's potential

If you're running a stock ROM on your phone, there's a chance that mass storage has just been removed.
I'm running CyanogenMod 11 on my phone, and it still has Mass Storage.

Damn that sucks then. I guess I'm going to have to settle for Bluetooth or something.
I just got this phone recently and I don't know much about rooting so I'd prefer to stay away from it for now. I heard that recently some ROMs like Cyanogen Mod actually have negative effects. Maybe I should lurk around in this thread more to be more informed on this.

For me on 4.4.2 CM you go through settings > Storage > settings or options button > USB computer connection. Took me a little while to find it.

I don't have Cyanogen Mod though. I don't think being able to play music from stereo from my phone would be worth getting a custom rom for.
Depends on your phone, if you're using a Nexus 5 or something, probably, but if it's a Galaxy S4, it's worth going custom just so you get rid of the TouchWiz bullshit.

The humble mobile bundle ends in 9 hours, maybe something out of that?
I played with a g flex at the cell phone shop a bit and the curved screen actually does feel nice. The phone is fucking gigantic though.

Having more than 32GB master race
Not needing more than 32GB in a phone master race :v:
this is gonna get old quick
white master race
can't get over how much I like the feeling I get from the white compared to the black

Seriously, though, I wish the back covers weren't that expensive. But I do like my black one too, kind of.
1+1 will have some nice backcovers <3

But I think oryginal black 64gb one is already great. Im curious why Samsung dont use that, their crappy plastic is ugly comparing to 1+1

Funny how I'm Asian, you all know I mean the color of the phone.

I found one that's around $25 plus some shipping or $33 with free shipping
$25 one was just the cover, no internal stuff at all (didn't link it)

Probably not OEM

I like how the Red one is more expensive
Probably not OEM
If I can find a cheap OEM back, I'd probably get a black one just for the fun of it.
So...
Does anyone have a recommendation for a good and reasonably priced portable battery? 10000mAh and more preferred.
I was thinking if I should get the official Nexus Wireless Charger or a portable battery, but a portable battery is so much more useful in the long run.

Mi Charger
[t]http://wimages.vr-zone.net/2013/12/Xiaomi-battery.jpg[/t]
Here's Xiaomi's website

here, have a recent review

Would an Anker Astro E5 be a better choice? Almost 5000mAh more for just 10 additional dollars compared to the Xiaomi power bank?
I can actually get the Mi Charger for around $30 with free shipping (to Canada).
Or less..

Local product, got it at $96. Was supposed to be $128. Previously got a 20000mAH one online for $30 but turns out to be a fake. Less than 5% and it died.
This was pretty good, could charge from, 0-100% in 3-4 times.

Apple devices use a proprietary protocol for communicating with car stereos. The iPod basically sends the raw audio to the radio over USB, so you can play DRM'd files.
But I've had flaky luck with Android Mass Storage on my radio in the past. It obviously doesn't work on my Galaxy Nexus, but on my Eris, it would...kinda work. Like I could only play one album. Normal flash drives worked though.
I just gave up and stuck to AUX and flash drives.
Would it be smart to replace my phone's battery to one that lasts longer?

Do want to hopefully improve battery life? -> yes.
I use this bad boy for battery because its super cheap and super big and works well enough
I hate it when stuff doesn't arrive
