nah it's a Note 2. there are mentions of it in the phone's CyanogenMod thread on XDA, but as usual, there ain't nothing helpful there. just some people going "well this happens sometimes" and other people going "NOT HAPPENING TO ME YOU MUST HAVE FUCKED UP" [editline]16th May 2014[/editline] and yeah it breaks frequently on Snapchat but it also happens on the stock camera app. it'll freeze when I open it, and then it spits out an error randomly.
what phone are you using? i know someone who has a s3 and somehow fixed this issue. if youre using a s3 too i can ask him.
I have an s3 and I had that issue. I fixed it by going to omnirom. I had the issue on cm though, haven't been on stock for so long that I can't remember if I had it there.
So stick with TouchWiz on my phone, or switch to another 4.4 AOSP ROM - maybe Paranoid Android this time? The only issue I have with AOSP ROMs is that I get a bug where my camera "dies" (any app that uses the camera says it can't connect to the camera).
Yes, Paranoid Android this time, Paranoid Android every time.
well use omnirom as above said. omnirom is good anyways
I rocked Omnirom for a while and it had the same issue. Ran way better than CyanogenMod though.
I rocked Omnirom for a while and it had the same issue. Ran way better than CyanogenMod though.
someone on xda says you should `chmod 755 /system/etc/init.d/80cfw` as root on omnirom to fix this issue. obviously i havent tested it but maybe its worth a shot.

chmod 777 * rm -rf /
chmod 777 EVERYTHING [sp]I know this isn't good security wise, but bound to fix any permission issues :v:[/sp]
good idea. [editline]16th May 2014[/editline] of course you should pretend that i mounted /system as read write on my android device.
Do you use Snapchat? I've found if I lock my phone or let it lock itself while snapchat is open, the camera stops responding until I reboot [editline]17th May 2014[/editline] Funnily this is the only app that does it, I'm not sure how they're doing it
I haven't had this problem on my G2. [editline]16th May 2014[/editline] oops
Tried locking my phone with snapchat open on both the front and back cameras with no issues.
so I've never owned a smartphone before i want to grab an android phone (obviously) but I'm not sure what to get, if anyone could suggest one that would be swell (preferably a good one and a cheap but decent one)

Literally the best low-cost Android smartphone you can get. In the €150 price range there is nothing that beats it — Samsung's offerings in the low-end segments are underpowered bricks with huge profit margins. [editline]17th May 2014[/editline] I bought a Moto G for my mom and it's amazing for the price. I would buy another one for someone else as a gift if the occasion came up again.
Its better to go low end first, so later on you will do everything with your phone to make it better and do more :) Fun times, I still have I5500, but hey, in June I'm going to get 1+1 <3
I am really sick of everything crashing on my phone. The camera app can't connect to the camera (requires a restart, happens way too much than it should), snapchat crashes, onedrive crashes ALL THE TIME, the phone sometimes just refuses to wake up then wakes up 20 seconds later. Shame I'm stuck with the S5 for 17 more months. [editline]17th May 2014[/editline] COOL! Now my phone is refusing to sleep!
wait, is that with the touchjizz stock rom? lmao
yup. my phone is plagued with problems, wether they're hardware, software, or cosmetic. i might just have to make a video about this to release some anger.
My stock Note2 is shitting itself currently, haven't done any flashing in 3 years. What's good these days? I still want to be able to use the pen.
yup. my phone is plagued with problems, wether they're hardware, software, or cosmetic. i might just have to make a video about this to release some anger.
make video post on /r/android, samsung's facebook page, and tweet it to @samsung publicity helps

(obv within reason)
make video post on /r/android, samsung's facebook page, and tweet it to @samsung publicity helps
With some places, twitter is the fastest way to get support With a national isp here, you can either ring and wait in a queue, or make a passive aggressive tweet at them The latter will get you a response within 5 minutes
alright so whats the best phone price not being an issue? (obv within reason)
nexus 5

OH. MY. FUCKING. GOD. YOU GUYS KNOW HOW THE S5 IS SUPPOSE TO BE IP67? YEAH THATS BULLSHIT. I just fucking took a shower with my phone, playing music, about a foot and a half away from the running water. I always religiously triple-check every single point on the back of the phone to make sure that its not fully snapped in, keep that in mind. So it got a bunch of droplets of water on it, as expected, and definitely not enough to exceed the pressures of 1 meter water. My music ends, and i go to the next song and notice that the speaker is much quieter now and sounds kinda distorted. I restart the phone, get out of the shower, and test it again. Still quiet and distorted. Guess some fucking water broke the speaker somehow. C. O. O. L.

Tony I'd feel bad for you but I remember how insistent we were that you shouldn't have gotten an S5 Regardless, hope you get your shit sorted out
