Oh yeah, speaking of mobile plans: I'm gonna be in the US for a month soon, so I wanna know if there's any way for me to purchase a prepaid sim card that has like 1 or 2GB of data on it. And some texts/voice. Do US carriers do that? I've looked around but I saw talks of "activating your mobile on this network" and such so...
T-Mobile has probably the best kind of prepaid plan got your travels. $30 for unlimited data and all that.
T-Mobile has probably the best kind of prepaid plan got your travels. $30 for unlimited data and all that.
Just make sure T-Mobile is in the area you plan to be in. Its very spotty in the midwest FYI.
So, does anyone have any information on the 4.4.3 update? I don't think I can take data drops and not receiving SMS messages much longer
it's unconfirmed by google, but many leaks have confirmed it's real. just a waiting game, i'm guessing Google IO next month will be the announcement or soon before. and, i haven't gotten 1 issue with 4.4.2 with my Nexus 5
Power bank saved my phone a few times already this weekend. Phone went low battery in the afternoon. Ended up going through 2 full charges throughout the time I was running around filming stuff and chilling with people and occasionally chatting away on group chats, posting food pics and what not. I kinda did have wifi on most of the time and had max screen brightness on a lot since it was rather sunny and not raining, lots of calls and text messages, etc. This is when battery life matters :v: and when having a power bank is useful. No more waiting/finding a power outlet and it charging up. It charged my nexus 5 probably twice in total, an s4 from 18 to 83 percent, my potato phone at some point. It's currently indicating one dot out of four. Sounds about right.
What do you guys think would be a good price to sell my Nexus 7 (2012) for? I've still got the original packaging, as well as a leather case and stylus.
So when is Google going to make an official disc imaging tool like CWM/TWRP/iOS backups? Seriously.
I just switched to a Z2 from a 3GS. Feels like I've been missing out on a lot
that transition must feel like night and day
I might buy the Moto G next month. Does anyone know if there are any kind of issues with it or things that people miss from the phone?

Like, any day now. Or I could be going completely mad, struggling to find a press release. [editline]26th May 2014[/editline] I'm not mad! It says that it will launch in UK. Does that mean it will work just fine in Denmark?
I actually thought of that. It says that it will launch in UK. Does that mean it will work just fine in Denmark?
Checked on Phonearena and the UK version actually won't work with LTE (4G) in Denmark. 3G and UMTS will be fine, but no LTE. Not sure if there have been any announcements regarding an LTE version for Denmark specifically. [editline]26th May 2014[/editline] The LTE version is maybe still worth considering because it also adds an SD card slot (not sure how big a deal this would be to you. In the UK it costs £50 more for LTE and an SD card slot).
Finally got my Moto X! It's a hell of an upgrade from my Droid Bionic

Wouldn't that mean that there wouldn't be a problem? Wonder if i should wait for the new Moto x or just wait for the current x instead of the nexus 4 Im using right now since the battery life and software glitches are really becoming a pain for me now.
why just the x?

Christ I have $27 in google play credit what do I spend it on :v:
Wind mobile was pretty bad for a friend this past weekend. We were at a large event with tens of thousands in a rather congested area for an anime convention. She couldn't get calling or sms to work, let alone data. Calling was impossible on Friday, sms was slow, data was almost impossible to access while I was able to call and sms without problems with Rogers and another friend with an S4 and Bell 4G LTE was able to get 50Mbps down in a Speedtest. Great job wind. I was about to pick up a Sim on your 39 plan before the con just to get data to post food pics and what not. Turned out the hotels nearby had free wifi and was good enough and definetly faster than wind.
There was an old thread for android games, long buried. Through it I found N64droid and BT Controller, from its OP. Does anyone here happen to know how to configure the two to work together? It's supposedly possible. I've got a phone and a tablet and I'd love to make good use of them.
Like a week ago I called the support of my carrier, asking why I had this poor signal strength. After being put on hold for 10 minutes, it turned out that there seems to be interference between the UMTS and GSM network. When I switched my phone to GSM networks only, I'm getting -85dBm by average now, instead of -105dBm. What I've been wondering, how is it possible that the UMTS network appears so weak here? There's a UMTS tower not very far from here, and obviously if I'm close to it it's all fine. [T]http://i.imgur.com/GC6QbvC.png[/T] [T]http://i.imgur.com/t0Cwm6M.png[/T] Notice I held my phone in the exact same position in these two screenshots, my hands slightly covering the antenna.
Remember the portable battery talk? And how garychencool, me and someone else (forgot your name, sorry :saddowns: ) ordered the Xiaomi 10400mAh powerbanks? Well, gary's is real, but mine is fake. Barely recharges the Nexus 5 twice, can't recharge itself and recharge a device at the same time*, so I opened it up, and yup, noname purple batteries instead of LG/SAMSUNG branded grey batteries: [t]http://i.imgur.com/VS567sI.jpg[/t] So, avoid this link:
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/original-xiaomi-power-bank-10400mAh-High-quality-xiaomi-10400-portable-xiaomi-powerbank-Charger-for-xiaomi-hongmi/1731221849.html
* this is a surefire way to test if your power bank is real. Plug it into a wall charger (not your laptop or PC, that won't produce enough power), then connect your phone to the power bank. It should charge the phone and charge itself at the same time.
Is there a legit place I can get it from in the UK?
Watch out when buying from aliexpress, almost everything is imported chinese fakes at extremely cheap bulk prices. Good for fake designer goods but not so good for electronics.
Is there a legit place I can get it from in the UK?
Look around your local retailers (edit: I mean regular electronics stores), or Amazon. Ebay and AliExpress can be dangerous for this. To quickly test if yours is legit, follow the * thing in my previous post. I tried looking for an official Xiaomi UK shop, but it doesn't seem like there is one. Strange, since we in the Czech Republic apparently have one (but the power bank is usually sold out there).
Finally got my Moto X! It's a hell of an upgrade from my Droid Bionic
I love my Moto X, I wish there were more spotlight stories though. My friends always go crazy over them

Hey peeps. I just published my first app on Play. It is a Tic-Tac-Toe variant played on a 3x3 board, where each cell is another 3x3 game. You must win a cell in order to convert it into a bigger 3x3 piece. The cell you make your next move in is determined by the previous player's move. What do you guys think about the design? I appreciate any feedback :) [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/GEY5luo.jpg[/img_thumb] Google Play link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nicktikhonov.tictacsquared
