Come to the dark side
Chrome deleted bookmarks from a folder I created, and I can't remember what ones I had in it. Any way to get them back? No idea why they are gone
so apparently new ios+mac os will allow you to actually sms from your computer and take calls on your computer using your phone as a relay
google ball is in your court
you can kinda do that right now with MightyText and AirDroid..
But the integration with OS X and iOS looks a lot more appealing...
kill the non believer!
you're giving me shit about my preference of layout, and yet you are even remotely thinking about owning a iphone?
ha, ok bud.
this is exactly what hangouts should have been
come on Google, fancy everyone at I/O
this is exactly what hangouts should have been
hangouts is fucking shit on the desktop where's a proper client
google needs a proper desktop platform, fuck chrome and fuck the web
I wish that people would understand the difference between the up button and the back button. It's not even hard to understand.

I wish the back button wasn't so ambiguous in function on Android sometimes.

if the backbutton wasn't such a developer defined clusterfuck
i have no idea if this is implementable, but i would prefer that android recorded the history, rather than the app having to do it

it's probably gonna stay as a chrome extension and they will probably fix the stupid RAM usage, battery drain and what not.

Which is incredibly stupid, because I am signed into Chrome with one account, yet use a different one for Hangouts and it randomly reverts the logged in account.

You can bypass this by making accounts in chrome

I'm sure it'd be possible, even through Xposed. It'd just need to make a record of activities opened.

The thing about the back button is that you never know where it will lead you.
For example, open a notification, hit the up arrow in the app, then what should back do: take to an even lower level of the app, quit out the app, or go back to the first screen you saw in the app when you opened the notification.
How about in chrome, should it always act like a browser back button or should it act as a last seen button, as in you switch a tab, the back button goes back to the other tab, you press the back button in the menu overflow, the back button goes forward in web pages.
The way it works and should work is still a big mess.

I did, still fucks up.

mightytext has such a shit UI and AirDroid is way overkill
That's one thing I hate about Android. All the good looking SMS apps don't work well (i.e. I can never get MMS to work) and all the SMS apps with working MMS don't look great.
The best compromise I have found is Textra, but it'd be nice to use Evolve or Hello or something.
I liked Textra a lot but the only reason I don't use it is because I actually found two IRL friends who use Hangouts and I hate SMS/MMS (WHY ARE WE STILL PRIMARILY USING TECHNOLOGY THAT WAS CREATED IN 1992 AND NEVER UPDATED?!)
Okay, I actually only found one IRL friend using it, I had to scream at the other until they switched

Because it just works?
Because it just works?
Well, usually. MMS can be really flaky at times, considering every app, phone and carrier interprets it differently. SMS is usually okay, albeit slow and dat character limit.
I did, still fucks up.
I use two accounts on my Chrome and it works fine.
You just have to open up the second account and it's Chrome to run the hangouts extension. From there you can close the window and it would be in your whatever you call it bar.

Character limits on SMS, size limits on MMS (can't even send videos!)
We need a new standard..

"It's Chrome?"
I'm not running multiple instances of Chrome or something just to make Hangouts work like that.

Sms seems to always be instant for me.
Sms seems to always be instant for me.
Never even close for me. I usually see 3-10 seconds delay. MMS usually north of 15-20.
I still need to set up multiple users and do all this extra nonsense.
All I want is for Hangouts to be a seperate application so I don't need Chrome running 24/7 in the background.

Also, it's already messed up and duplicated 'First user' and lost the second user I created and set up.
[editline]2nd June 2014[/editline]
So now everything is fucked up.

Those are usually best case. I've seen some where it takes several minutes or never arrives at all, despite the message receipt saying it was "received".
I've sent my mom a message that I was heading home, drive home for 10 minutes, walk in the door, and I hear her phone go off, and its my message. I won't say internet services aren't unreliable but just because its "simple" doesn't mean it always works.
