So, my family has an option to get a new plan with Sprint in which we can upgrade all our phones for a cheaper bill. I have the Nexus 5 right now and I'm in love with it. But, I've heard a lot of good things of the HTC One M8. Should I stay with the N5 or switch to the M8 or is there a better phone out there right now?
My phone's dying so I'm gonna get a new one, have no clue which one is best nowadays though. I don't need a top end smartphone (so no Galaxy S5/Iphone 5 and the likes), as long as the camera's good and the rest isn't bad I'm happy.

Camera is pretty meh though.
Your eMMC might be failing. Mine had similar problems before it got really bad.
I just switched to another ROM and it's crashing too. I don't know what the fuck. This phone's a piece of shit, I am never buying a Samsung phone again.
The letters from the logo on my LG G2's back have fallen off. [t]http://u.cubeupload.com/Akasori/nSiTpm.jpg[/t] Like this. It's only a matter of time when the logo falls off too.
How the hell did you manage that? They're totally flush with the back.

Might just be a lemon. You could also look at the G2 which is almost a clone of the N5 but less budget oriented.
How the hell did you manage that? They're totally flush with the back.
I've heard a ton of stories of peoples Nexus lettering and LG logo falling off their Nexus 5 and 7 2013.
Oh hey I got the 4.3.3 OTA, first time I've seen one since I upgraded to 2.2 Froyo on the Wildfire Can't install it though because custom recovery :v:
I did a factory reset on my phone and it still wont install the update. Did I miss something?
Apparently the Nexus 5 if bought from Rogers has special firmware on it installed in the factory... It's not APN settings, according to a Rogers IT Rep.
Just saw this on Google+, anybody mind explaining, if there is an explanation. [t]https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-lZaYJ9fKwhI/U5DE_CeXwdI/AAAAAAAACG0/fXpnvSfy3SE/s448-no/omni-4.4.3_Russell+Hobbs+18951-56+18954-56.gif[/t]
Moto G is a safe bet for mid range. Camera is pretty meh though.
Yeah I saw. Not getting that one. Was thinking of a Lumia, but I've got no idea which one is the best option.
according to a Rogers IT Rep.
and you actually believe him? dude. Finished chatting with the Rogers IT Rep.
4:58 PM Gary Chen: So with my data plan add, there is no speed limiting, known as throttling, of any kind done on Rogers end? 4:58 PM Gary Chen: *data plan add on 4:58 PM Debbie: We do not do any throttling of data - that is illegal according to CRTC 4:59 PM Debbie: There are many factors that can affect actual speed. 4:59 PM Gary Chen: Ok 4:59 PM Debbie: Do you have any other technical questions I could answer? 5:00 PM Gary Chen: In addition, with my data plan add on, the retentions manager added an unlimited data bonus. Is it truely unlimited or is there some sort of catch or softcap of any kind? 5:01 PM Debbie: No - for the 3 months it is unlimte, experiment, go wild, try things. learn how you want to use data, then choose a correct plan. 5:02 PM Debbie: Have a good night. 5:02 PM Gary Chen: so i can pretty much use several hundred GB of usage if I wanted to 5:03 PM Debbie: yes 5:03 PM Gary Chen: may I use my phone as a portable hotspot, known as tethering? 5:03 PM Debbie: Yes
Well then, let's play the "How much GB of LTE can I use in a month" game.
I have unlimited data, but I have to pay an extra monthly fee to tether. >:(
I've heard a ton of stories of peoples Nexus lettering and LG logo falling off their Nexus 5 and 7 2013.
wait, how would the nexus lettering fall off the 7 2013?
I have unlimited data, but I have to pay an extra monthly fee to tether. >:(
Should be able to bypass that easily
any third party app i've tried has a shutter time of around 1-2 seconds, even the google camera app.
the S5 native app is the same way, which results in blurry as fuck photos if you're not propping the thing up on a stand. hoping 4.4.3 fixes that shit but who knows
So I guess the Sprint/T-Mobile merger is going ahead.. I'm pretty skeptical as Sprint is basically a humongous faltering mess of old tech, legacy customers and failing companies bought up on the cheap. If the current T-Mobile ends up the the controlling entity, I could see a decent bit to gain but I feel like it's more of a liability in merging the two completely different infrastructures and customers. http://www.bizjournals.com/dallas/news/2014/06/03/sprint-t-mobile-ceos-agree-on-one-thing-merger.html?page=all This article kinda calms me slightly about it but I feel like I'm going to end up losing most of what keeps me at T-Mobile. In my opinion, Sprint just needs to disappear overnight for this to work for me.
Hey does anyone know why my MXplayer is stuttering on SW decoding with mkv videos?
Finished chatting with the Rogers IT Rep. Well then, let's play the "How much GB of LTE can I use in a month" game.
When I signed up for my plan I also got 3 months of unlimited data, pushed 250GB one month torrenting. They don't seem to throttle at all, although speeds fluctuate a lot throughout the day. [editline]6th June 2014[/editline] After listening to music in Google Play and unplugging my headphones, my phone doesn't seem to detect that I've removed them. The only thing I've found that fixes it is either a reboot, or opening the clock app, playing an alarm, and removing the headphones while an alarm is playing. My phone is an S3 running Cyanogenmod (installer build). Is this an issue with GPM, Cyanogenmod, or some weird combination of hardware and software glitches? Doesn't seem to happen in any other audio app.
a little bird tells me google will have something in the hangouts realm to compete with iMessage continuity
