Apparently the Hangouts battery drain bug has been fixed by Google. An update is coming out shortly. Maybe now my phone won't eat 5% Battery everyone hour!
source?
So I guess the Sprint/T-Mobile merger is going ahead..
I'm pretty skeptical as Sprint is basically a humongous faltering mess of old tech, legacy customers and failing companies bought up on the cheap. If the current T-Mobile ends up the the controlling entity, I could see a decent bit to gain but I feel like it's more of a liability in merging the two completely different infrastructures and customers.

This article kinda calms me slightly about it but I feel like I'm going to end up losing most of what keeps me at T-Mobile. In my opinion, Sprint just needs to disappear overnight for this to work for me.
As long as I get to keep all my discounts, I'm ok with this.

old phone vs new (first) smartphone (galaxy mega)
literally going to have to buy new pants so I can carry this phone around
I saw a Galaxy Mega the other day, it's nice. A shame that the specs are mid though. Although you could argue it doesn't really matter anymore now.
I seem to be having a worse battery drain after the update to 4.4.3
Difference this time is the temperature is actually normal, unlike before the update my N5 would get petty warm
it's glued on plastic bits
lol wow hope it doesnt fall off on mine
If they fall out, a lot of people just paint the gaps back in

First 3 is HSPA, last one is LTE. I had some trouble getting it to connect to LTE but I eventually got it to work after retrying and rebooting my phone. Apparently LTE has worse reception/signal.
looked at the changelog and apparently a clean flash is needed for the paranoid android update
yeah nah how about no
i'm tired of redoing all my stuff
I'm on the latest PA and I never did a fresh install, all is fine for me.
I just used titanium backup to restore it apps so it was less hassle for me.
because software is always worse? and h264 is pretty intensive
can't use you hw?
MX player says it won't play the video in HW or HW+

On Omni rom i just updated through settings menu and it was done. New dialer looks awesome.
Getting a nice little battery life boost after the 4.4.3 update, thanks Google!
Updated my OmniRom to 4.4.3. It's alright I guess. Didn't break nothing worse.
Hey, so I am thinking about getting a new mobile phone, my old one isnt really working anymore. I am pretty sure I will go for an android phone, so I wanted to ask you, the more up-to-date/actually know something about the market people on recommendations to what to buy.
The phone I am looking for is a sturdy but overall pretty fast phone. Camera quality doesn't matter at all, I already got a dedicated camera for that. Most things I want to do on it, is surfing, the normal usage and spotify(so a 3.5mm jack would be nice). Good battery life, or at least what that is nowadays.
So TL;DR: I want a sturdy, fast, good battery life phone without a fancy camera, recommendations?
Price is sort of irrelevant unless we go up in iphone prices.
Moto G, X
I upgraded my Galaxy Note 3 firmware from the earliest 4.4.2 build to a somewhat more recent one, and it took me only 10 minutes to root again and find my modifications working again :O
I was expecting that stuff like xposed and their modules' settings would be wiped out in the upgrade but they immediately started working back right after I used CF-AutoRoot again. Pretty damn cool.
Even all the apps I had disabled or straight up unininstalled didn't come back (but that might be because the OTA didn't contain new app APKs or something).
The only change I had to do by hand again was setting my DPI to 400 from 480 in the build.prop.
So for whatever reason I can't tether on my Nexus 5. Poked Rogers, they said they have to enable it. They enable it and it still doesn't work. Wifi works, the Internet doesn't.

wrong thread!

Having the same error, Setting changes it's text to 'Error' when I click it.
Tried it again on 4.4.2, same result
Something about the iptables being incorrect was mentioned to me (in the Android group chat) and you can fix it if you're rooted.
MX player says it won't play the video in HW or HW+
Because your phone can't decode the file in hardware. You have to do it the old fashioned way:
convert the video to a format you can use in hardware like its 2008 all over again. :v:
So I broke the data counter on my Nexus 5. The limit sliders don't show up even though I turned it on. Help.
Need a new phone, been looking and It's between the Moto X, Nexus 5, LG G2 and Galaxy S4.
What would you guys recommend out of these?
G2.
[editline]7th June 2014[/editline]
Or maybe wait for G3.

I would recommend either of those except for the S4.
Nexus 5 is cheaper but the battery is non-removable (I think?) and there is no SD card slot
