Apparently Rogers puts some firmware on the nexus 5 they get. Sure it's unlocked but there seems to be something Rogers does to them. Apparently Google or LG does it for them at the factory.
Is that firmware available on the internet anywhere? Could just flash it and fix the bugs permanently.
I've lived with iPhone 4's screen long enough, so everything's okay as a change
If the Xperia Z1 is too big for you they also do Xperia Z1 Compact with a 720p 4.3 inch screen with the same specs.
If the Xperia Z1 is too big for you they also do Xperia Z1 Compact with a 720p 4.3 inch screen with the same specs.
Nah, I'm fine with a big screen. However, I'm concerned whether Xperia Z1 still has self-cracking screens.
Is that firmware available on the internet anywhere? Could just flash it and fix the bugs permanently.
I searched for "Nexus 5 tethering fix" and found some stuff that requires root that I can do. That seems to have fixed the issue for people on T-Mobile.
You have no laws about damages having to be related? For example, if I crack my screen, and then the speaker stops working, I can still get the speaker fixed, because my previous damage couldn't have caused it.
nope. since i'm on their phone lease program i guess that makes things different.
I've lived with iPhone 4's screen long enough, so everything's okay as a change
no the screen in the z1 is just pretty crappy
New Nexus 5 is here. So first thing I did was unlock bootloader, root, install TWRP and get Purity ROM 4.4.3 on it. runs like a charm. Ahh.
So they updated Chrome's homepage, and made it 100x worse There's a giant Google logo that takes up 1/3 of the screen, the most visited box things are bigger, so now only four show up, two are cut in half and the other two are off screen entirely It feels like they pushed a tablet interface to mobile

accidentally may have just ordered a nexus 5
that's no accident, you just realized where you belong :v:
I really wish I can buy a nexus 5 ASAP. I've got 129 euros of 350, on my way I suppose. First thing I will do is install the best ROM available. I've heard omnirom seems to be good, is that statement true?
yes
HTC One vs Z2... I am tempted to try Sony, but I've grown with HTC all my life (first mobile device ever was Qtek, after that - HTC Diamond, and so on...).
They're both great devices so just go with whatever design you prefer.

Paranoid Android seems to have more mods that make sense, but for me, on a non nexus device, OmniRom is more stable, and at the very least has all the "common sense" improvements over AOSP.
and here I am perfectly happy with just root and ART runtime on my N5
I'm on PA. System ui crashes every time the phone boots up. The keyboard selection thing breaks when you go to the keyboard and input settings from the change keyboard dialog. I got a random reboot when I was streaming something from plex server. I think everything else works. Nexus 5 on art [editline]10th June 2014[/editline]
and here I am perfectly happy with just root and ART runtime on my N5
I see you're using Android RunTime runtime
I'm running PA on my Nexus 5, never had consistent problem or a problem I could pin on PA. This is on Dalvik.
I see you're using Android RunTime runtime
[t]http://i.imgur.com/3pRiY1z.jpg[/t] so I see no problem in calling it ART runtime
[t]http://i.imgur.com/3pRiY1z.jpg[/t] so I see no problem in calling it ART runtime
You must see no problem using PIN number too
I don't really care about it, so yeah
Someone was going to say this anyway http://paranoidandroid.co/ https://plus.google.com/+ParanoidAndroidCorner
I suppose I'm gonna try Omnirom and PA if I ever get the N5 Right now I run a unofficial version of PA for this GT-I9001, it runs pretty unstable at certain times compared to CM. Sometimes I get random lockups, the software update page causes settings to crash somehow. Especially the lockup is annoying, because the CPU freaks out no matter that I close down my apps. (Not killing them, just using the return button until the app closes) But I guess that's just because the guy where I got this ROM from broke a few things.
I'm running PA on my Nexus 5, never had consistent problem or a problem I could pin on PA. This is on Dalvik.
The issues I'm running into could be caused because of ART
im gonna run everything stock on my nexus 5

Can someone suggest which of these three I should get from my carrier? This is just to pay for the phone for 24 months along with a £50 initial fee. I have the HTC One M7 at the moment and I have no real incentive to upgrade at the moment, but I'm just looking at what options I have right now.
My sim card somehow stopped working, so now I gotta pick one up on thursday (earliest I can get one), really sucks not having a phone, especially when I'm trying to sell a car.
