wow it just took my phone 8 hours to charge 54% through my computer! i really need to buy a second cable if i'm gonna be using my phone as a desk clock.
So just turning on my nexus 5 on the t-mobile network i ate 600mb including the 4.4.3 update (I bought a new nexus when i switched cause i cracked the screen on my nexus with AT&T) I do like t-mobiles app though, it's not in the way and didn't need me to login. The other bad part is i get no service at my house but literally one block down i get 5 bars. Now i can't get work calls though on my days off hahahaha
Thank AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and the FCC for sticking T-Mobile with shitty bands which are horrible for building penetration. With the T-Mobile/Sprint merger they'll have access to 800mhz. Apparently they have 700mhz bought out from Verizon too! So in the next few years well see good coverage inside buildings... for those of you with a Nexus 5 who dislike the charging time, i'm thinking of trying this. http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/accessories/hands-best-fastest-cheapest-nexus-5-t2729066 i have the google wireless charger, but don't use it unless i'm at my comp, and it charges it fast! i just plug mine in overnight and it last well into the night.
Dislike the charging time? It takes a tiny bit over 2 hours to charge from 0 to 100% using the stock cable and adapter, what's to dislike about that?
I use my Nexus 7 charger for both that and my HTC, charges in less than an hour.
I don't know bout you but I consider myself to be a normal person Unless by normal person you mean illiterate people, which wasn't said, and illiteracy is their own fault
i am sorry but your average/normal android user does not change their boot animations while taking a shit. they just dont care about the boot animation. it is something they see once every few weeks or so. [editline]22nd June 2014[/editline] maybe it's just me mixing up 'average' and 'normal' tho
A good system would be that the normal user does not need to use a file manager at all but let people who want to have the choice. Android does that quite well where as iOS doesn't allow it at all.
I told SwiftKey to learn form my twitter account yesterday, now I got a mail from twitter that yesterday someone changed me Twitter password... The fuck is going on.
I wonder if T-Mobile would pay the ETF for my line so I could switch to them. Like, my phone is an extra line on my mom's Verizon account but I'd be the only one switching.
I wonder if T-Mobile would pay the ETF for my line so I could switch to them. They have to terminate the contract completely to remove your line so its sound idea in theory. Might want to ask a T-Mobile rep.
T-Mobile is becoming ophra in corporate form, next thing is LEAVE YOUR CARRIER AND COME TO US WE WILL PAY YOUR EARLY TERMINATION FEE AND GIVE YOU A FREE BLOW JOB
Question, is wiping the /data partition the exact same as doing a factory reset on the phone? (Also, is partition the right word for it?)
Question, is wiping the /data partition the exact same as doing a factory reset on the phone? (Also, is partition the right word for it?)
Generally yes. On phones with an internal "sdcard", a normal factory reset would wipe that too, however, wiping data in recovery won't.
Oh I thought the stuff on the sdcard part is only deleted when you choose "Format USB storage" or something. (Where camera pictures are saved by default).
Oh I thought the stuff on the sdcard part is only deleted when you choose "Format USB storage" or something. (Where camera pictures are saved by default).
On Nexus devices at least, factory reset wipes everything including internal storage. I'm not sure about other devices with internal memory but I assume its similar. On phones with an actual SD card slot, its not wiped unless you format the SD card.

Although it couldn't hurt to ask, just call up their support.
Question here. I have a phone with an USB OTG cable plugged into it. If I connect another phone to it, will it start charging?
Question here. I have a phone with an USB OTG cable plugged into it. If I connect another phone to it, will it start charging?
maybe. depends on the phone.
Dislike the charging time? It takes a tiny bit over 2 hours to charge from 0 to 100% using the stock cable and adapter, what's to dislike about that?
some people it doesn't do that for, or isn't fast enough. idk.

According to iFixIt teardown of the Nexus 5, found here: https://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Nexus+5+Teardown/19016 The Nexus 5 has a Texas Instruments BQ24192 I2C controlled 4.5 A USB/adapter charger, according to Texas Instruments website found here: http://www.ti.com/product/BQ24192, it can support up to 3A as the input current limit so theoretically the hardware is there to support 3A charging. Now I'd imagine Google set it so it only supports up to 2A but regardless when I charged my nexus 5 with a 2A charger, after calculating the time it took to charge and the capacity of the battery (or amount it was charged in mAh) it seemed to only charge at 1.5A at most. I might be wrong but it seems like the nexus 5 is limited to only charge at 1.5A max
ehh, i got one. it's only $3 so i figured why not. also grabbed a new stealth white skin with a couple screen protectors
Question here. I have a phone with an USB OTG cable plugged into it. If I connect another phone to it, will it start charging?
I've only had good luck with that. Ive charged an iPhone and an LG android phone. I've also used it to keep my windows tablet alive longer. I have a spare battery for my phone so I don't mind sharing the power.
HTC will make Nexus "9" apparently. http://www.kitguru.net/laptops/tablet-pc/matthew-wilson/htc-is-making-a-google-nexus-tablet/
What did I tell you? Anyways, it looks good, but what's that white dot at the bottom supposed to be?
What did I tell you? Anyways, it looks good, but what's that white dot at the bottom supposed to be?
It's an unofficial render from Android Police, based on a photo of a spec sheet or something, but I'd guess it's the LED notification light.
Same notification light thing seen on the nexus 5 and 7 2013
Same notification light thing seen on the nexus 5 and 7 2013
not really. n5 is multicolored, n7 isn't. also omg guys less than 48 hours remain until i/o keynote
It isn't? Huh, I always thought it was.
