So, I was trying to root a friend's S3, and it's stuck in download mode? What should I do?
When you say it's stuck, do you mean that you're unable to turn it off or that it'll boot into download mode as soon as the phone starts?
It'll boot straight into download mode.
If they fix those buttons ಠ_ಠ The question is, would the camera be as good as it is on Sense? Stock vs CyanogenMod photo comparisons were showing different quality on nearly every phone, so I imagine this would be similar.
I can't imagine Google wouldn't be able to access the same software that HTC uses for the camera in Sense to make it as good as possible for their own version. It's a partnership after all, if they do release a Nexus version of the HTC One.
It'll boot straight into download mode.
Read that Kies can conflict with ODIN (it did for me when rooting my S2 as well). You should try to uninstall Kies, unroot it (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1710613) and try again.
Yellow tint? More like blue and green.
Nope. My VZW Galaxy Nexus has yellow tinting also.
Odin doesn't seem to be recognising the S3?
Odin doesn't seem to be recognising the S3?
Weird, have you installed the USB Drivers? (I know, dumb question, but it may make sense)
Yep, they're installed. [editline]26th May 2013[/editline] It's recognising it, now it's just failing
I'm currently reading about SG4 overheating problem, shitty display. FUCK, I will not accept another phone like the SG2. I just might go with Sony Xperia.
For massive updates like ICS->JB, Sony will takes it's time but it will eventually come. On the other hand it is very dev friendly, rooting/flashing rooms is pretty easy and they also teach you how to unlock the bootloaders, non-carrier locked ones. The display is up to you, whether you will like it or not, but remember on a Sony product's 50% brightness is more like their competitors' 90% brightness.
Yep, they're installed. [editline]26th May 2013[/editline] It's recognising it, now it's just failing
If you had Kies installed earlier, did you uninstall it? And if you did, did you restart your computer after the uninstall?
Yellow tint? More like blue and green.
Galaxy phones have a yellow tint when you watch it on a gray background with no LCD light. SG2 had a very big discussion about it which is how I noticed it. My Note II has it as well and probably every single Galaxy phone. I've learnt to live with it. And yea, blue and green when you tilt it.
All is fine, I've managed to fix it now, thanks for the help anyway.
I have the bluest tint possible on my S2, really annoying at night.
It's so goddamn hard. I've ruled out Sony Xperia Z due to it having a washed out screen. The HTZ One has 4.7" screen and no SD-card slot. SG4 has heat problems and other stuff. The fuck. Oh well.
32 or 64 gb is enough on the One, and the two hardware buttons are infinitely easy to get used to
32 or 64 gb is enough on the One, and the two hardware buttons are infinitely easy to get used to
Except for that menu button. [t]http://cdn.gottabemobile.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/Android-5.0-Fix-Menu-Button.jpg[/t]
my friend has made his HTC logo a button and he sweeps across all the buttons to unlock it, I'll see if I can find the xda thread [editline]26th May 2013[/editline] http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2255160

I didn't see a thread on CSR racing, but does anybody here play that game? It keeps crashing on my s4.
The HTZ One has 4.7" screen and no SD-card slot.
Why do you keep saying HTZ? Peeves me out. Especially when you can clearly see HTC written everywhere
haha holy shit you can do that? I need this phone
oh my god no the HTC EVO 4G LTE forum found out how to do this and then literally in seconds every single ROM had it my phone would keep turning on in my pocket and it almost called 911 once then i asked how to turn it off but then i was showered and ignored with other posts on xda with things like "OMG THIS IS THE BEST !!!!" (While getting 10+ thanks)
xda-developers: your #1 source for Android ROMs and circlejerk observation
I kinda noticed that the Nexus 4 section of XDA seems less worse than others. There's more constructive discussion and helpful people than what I saw in the Galaxy S2 section for example.
The flagship phones probably are more popular and their respective forums get shit up more frequently.
*Thinking*
For android get a nexus 7 or 10
Except for that menu button. [t]http://cdn.gottabemobile.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/Android-5.0-Fix-Menu-Button.jpg[/t]
Easy ways to remove that. Either by setting the Back button being held for a second as the Menu button or by making the Logo the Menu button.
Hideous looking tablet haha.
Easy ways to remove that. Either by setting the Back button being held for a second as the Menu button or by making the Logo the Menu button.
The easy way being flashing a kernel from someone I don't trust that might fuck me over when there's an ota update.
