why does everyone act like Google Voice is the next coming of Jesus?
why does everyone act like Google Voice is the next coming of Jesus?
cause it kinda is
(if you live in america)
its the next coming of jesus for me too. cheap-ish calls to the UK, free calls to the USA and canada.
and i guess the thing to note is that that banner isn't technically new, as the assets have been in since like april
but still though, it feels more real when i can see the "switch to voice" banner on my phone
I have limited minutes so using voice would be useful and better than using Rogers one number. Also USA calling.

I'm too nice to give you a box, but it's not free

i just called the non toll-free number for trend micro. said "free call". charged me a grand total of $0.00.
Anyone got any suggestions as to what could potentially replace my S3 in the next two months? Want to get a Oneplus One but I may have to turn it down due to lack of availability. Thinking of getting a Note 3 instead because my hands are massive and could take a screen larger than my current phone. So yeah, suggestions welcome.
Does anyone know if the Omnirom multi-window feature doesn't work with the Google Experience Launcher? I installed Gapps before I could test it with the stock one.
Still tempted to change my iPhone for Nexus 5, but want to know - how is the battery life?
Pretty amazing. I used to own a Galaxy Nexus and could drain the battery to red in about 3 hours at work, since it can be slow.
Now it takes me at least 6, usually 7, hours to reach that.
I actually had an extended battery in the Galaxy Nexus too, which brought it up to around 1900-2100mAh.

That's still smaller than the battery in my G2. :v:
Nexus 5 battery wise is alright. It works. It lasts a decent amount.
My general usage is shit because I'm always chatting away on Hangouts and doing Speedtests all day every time I go somewhere.
I can listen to spotify all day at work (10-11~hours), browse facepunch and facebook at breaktime and have about 20% left on my battery when I get home

Huh. I didn't expect that, honestly.
Guess we'll see the ports soon enough.
I should start using google play music all access more...
Are there any good scheduler apps not supported by advertisements? I just want to change wallpaper/volume/etc based on the time of day.

Tasker is like 4 bucks but it's the absolute best scheduler/automation app ever.

Looks great. Now I need to understand it better, so I guess it'll wait until I get home.

what exactly are you wanting to do?
what exactly are you wanting to do?
I figured it out. Currently have it set to use one wallpaper while at work, another when off work during the week, and a third on weekends.
[editline]1st July 2014[/editline]
I'll probably remake it once I get home. Right now it checks hour before day of week. So bad, so inefficient.

Downloaded it for free off the website (Trial I think)
Wanted to make it that I can keep the screen on if the USB is plugged in/charging and if ingress was open....
Don't think it would let me

tada:

known issue: the screen isn't actually staying on forever, it's just changing the timeout to 23 hours, and when ingress closes it sets the timeout back to whatever your default is
i assume you're not playing ingress for 23 hours though
[editline]1st July 2014[/editline]
you should be able to just open it on your phone and have tasker pop up as an action
I should start using google play music all access more...
google music still only works when i download things to my phone. streaming hardly works on any device i try it on.
Made it simpler. On home WiFi? Use wallpaper A, else, use wallpaper B.
Fuck
Lost media again
It still says that the data is there in total, but nothing in the folders can be found
A backup of the VirtualSD is 0mb
I made it yell when the battery gets low. I'm having too much fun.
why does everyone act like Google Voice is the next coming of Jesus?
I don't understand why Google Voice is even necessary, honestly
I already have a phone number, why do I need a second one that only works over wifi?

Well not everyone has unlimited minutes, for an example I have 150 local minutes that is shared between two phones, that's pretty little. Calling 1-800 numbers goes towards minutes. Although I have unlimited calling in the evenings and weekend, I don't before so that to save up on minutes I'd have to use without a data connection of any kind, I'd use Google voice. Right now, I just use Rogers one number but when voice comes to Canada I'll definitely use it
I can only call Canada wide numbers but with voice I can also call USA and some others for free.
