Reminds me why phones like the Nexus 4 are so beautiful, but extremely delicate, just like a flower...
And why to get a case
AAAAAAAAAAAAA Seriously, I cringe a bit when i see other S3's with big scratches and cracks. I think i nearly had a heart attack when my S3 dropped off a shelf one week after i got it (damn shelf broke, spilling books and phone to the floor)
Does my phone give you nightmares?
Does my phone give you nightmares? [T]http://i.imgur.com/jcVg5fd.jpg[/T]
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Does my phone give you nightmares? [T]http://i.imgur.com/jcVg5fd.jpg[/T]
My first version of this reply contained many instances of the word fuck, I'll trim it down to just "yes"
I still use it every day v:v:v
Does my phone give you nightmares? [T]http://i.imgur.com/jcVg5fd.jpg[/T]
By Bastet's scratching post, what the fuck did you even DO?!
Does my phone give you nightmares? [T]http://i.imgur.com/jcVg5fd.jpg[/T]
Every muscle in my body tensed up looking at that.
It fell out my pocket when I was riding a bike [editline]2nd May 2013[/editline] And bounced along some of the roughest pavement you've ever seen, before exploding in to the battery door, battery and main phone
All these cracked screens... Quit buying phones with flush screens! If you do, get a bumper case at least. A little 1/8 inch bezel between the glass and the edge of the phone accompanied by a 1/16 or 1/32 inch lift around the glass makes a huge fucking difference.
Does my phone give you nightmares? *The horror*
My balls clenched at that, holy shit.
Flip cover saves the day. I'm paranoid as fuck on the occasions when i don't use it. Plus it makes a neat stand to watch movies on the train with [t]http://www.svvmglobal.in/ebay-img/Mobile/Samsung/Pouch/Samsung-S3/Model-1/bl1.jpg[/t]
And why to get a case
Sure, but I feel a lot of the quality feel of the phone is lost when you put on a case. It's like just listening to the audio of a movie without actually seeing it, part of the experience is gone. But that's in the case of the Nexus 4 or HTC One, other phones I would get a case for. [editline]2nd May 2013[/editline] Have been using this case on my SGS2 since the day I bought it for instance.
I can't do anything about the cracked screen, it costs so much to repair and I only got the phone at Christmas I just use it every day, you don't notice the cracks eventually
I can't do anything about the cracked screen, it costs so much to repair and I only got the phone at Christmas I just use it every day, you don't notice the cracks eventually
Except when they get worse and scratch your face when you talk on the phone. Happened to my friend. I'm telling you, flush screens may be pretty, but they just aren't smart from a durability perspective. Bezels and edge lifts are the way to go. If the glass is chamfered at or below the level of the phone edge, you will crack your screen.

If it's not spiderwebbed, I can understand that. Drop it a couple more times, though, and chunks start to come off the bezel. Thats when it happens.

Generally I just get a silicone skin case when I buy the phone (the one that's about 1/8 inch thick and bendy). I feel like if I need a big grippy case, the hardware isn't of high quality and I'm not spending $300-$500 on that. Software is a factor, but if the phone can't take my work conditions, I'm not buying. Software is useless without working hardware.
Does anyone know a good microfiber pouch for the HTC One? I want to have something to put it in when I have it in my pocket so it doesn't have the chance to get scratched up
Some hate the plastic feel on phones so they get grippy cases
And that's why I like phones like the Nexus 4, Motorola Razr and HTC One. They feel like quality in the hand.
And that's why I like phones like the Nexus 4 and HTC One. It wouldn't last a day in the workplace for me. The others, maybe. Motorola's build quality, all the way. Slightly raised bezels, plastic bezel space between glass and phone edge, high-quality build materials... I really hope Google doesn't abandon this aspect of Motorola's business. I rely on it.
I like how were all talking about cases and my potato has never touched a case, like ever and the screen isn't cracked or anything. Just scratches on the sides.
I like how were all talking about cases and my potato has never touched a case, like ever and the screen isn't cracked or anything. I'm careful like hell with my phone, But one of my friends managed to fling his One X out of a 15th floor window [editline]2nd May 2013[/editline] Lets just say that the results were interesting to see
I like how were all talking about cases and my potato has never touched a case, like ever and the screen isn't cracked or anything. And yeah, if Motorola would be better with the software and continue with their build quality I'd buy it instantly.
A pouch would be the ideal solution in those cases. And that would defeat the entire purpose. on a railroad, everything is bigger and heavier and made of either cast iron or steel. Bumping anything, even lightly, means instant screen cracks on soda-lime glass (happened to my MP3 player). That, plus the fact that you have to be in weird positions (like partially upside down) to work on certain mechanics means phones fall out of pockets. A lot. [editline]2nd May 2013[/editline] an iPhone, N4, or Galaxy S3 or 4 means a cracked screen. All the time. Every time. Even old feature phones don't last out there.

Same thing with another one. And another one after that.

My friend got an upgrade from the S3 to an S4 today and I honestly could not tell the difference apart from the better display.
