Could you guys give me some recommendations in what ways to make my devices interact? I've got an android Kitkat phone and tablet, a desktop computer running linux and LAMP for apache/ftp/mysql. I've got an arduino board, but no fun hardware to hook it to. I've got a VPS running apache and FTP and MySQL as well. Looking for fun ways for these things to interact. Can involve some light C++ for the arduino or my computers; I can use tasker on my phone and run some Python scripts too. I've got some limited ability to write java for android. Everything is on the table, but small/fun would be great. (basically I just started renting a VPS and want to make the most of it) [editline]27th July 2014[/editline] I could host a gmod server with some custom server module, interacting with mobile devices? What if anyone could influence a gamemode with their phones?
Nexus 5 is the best Android phone on the market right now, if you don't need a removable battery or a microSD slot. Well, actually, let me rephrase that: Nexus 5 is the best Android phone on the market right now, #MATERIAL DuARTe LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
The best phone for its price is 1+1, if you can actually get one.
Question, how is 1+1's support for RMA and stuff? Is the device generally stable too?
The best phone for its price is 1+1, if you can actually get one.
as long as you don't mind their shit-tier marketing practices and general shitlordery
Question, how is 1+1's support for RMA and stuff? Is the device generally stable too?
It is running Cyanogenmod
Question, how is 1+1's support for RMA and stuff? Is the device generally stable too?
Didn't have any problems with cyanogen since last Sunday when I got it. I'm currently posting from my 1+1
Question, how is 1+1's support for RMA and stuff? Is the device generally stable too?
I replied to RMA about shipment before, responded fast and nice. About stability, had no crash, nothing bad about OS. Its really good and fast. I LOVE theme engine, Flux White that I personally use is fryking beautiful. Its just awesome. CyanogenMod 11S is as close to stock android as it could be, with so much cool stuff/customization that does not bloat phone. Ps. Battery life is also awesome :)
Has anyone been having any problems with the Google keyboard in it's latest update? For some reason my space and period keys won't properly foreward text in chrome, and I end of getting big long words because it won't advance itself in Chrome. All of my other apps are unaffected, and I'm 100% sure it's not just me sucking at typing, because I am fixing this paragraph while I am typing. Running a Nexus 5 and latest keyboard.
unless i did my math wrong or you put in a fake birthday you're older than most facepunchers
I saw this on a page showing how Google Cards would look like, showing stuff like order details, flights, planned appointments and birthdays.
Was in town this morning and thought I'd go check out the LG G3 and the One M8 in the phone stores. Not a single one of them had those phones.

What's a good ROM I should install on my gPad 8.3, getting tired of LG Android because the menu button as the main button is fucking retarded
So apparently, this is the new Nexus 6. [t]http://i0.wp.com/www.tecnopasion.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Motorola-Nexus-6.jpg?resize=640%2C467[/t] 5,9", made by Motorola, codename "Shamu". That black dot on the bottom would drive me nuts
Yey, I applied screen protector, there was one dust particle, tried to remove it, destroyed everything <3 Screen protector into trash. Great.
So I just got a data plan set up with 750mb cap at 20€ a month and now that I have mobile Internet for the first time in my life I need to know what all the symbols by the network indicator mean, so like H, H+ and G and stuff and which are faster and which are slower.
G < E < 3G < H < H+ < 4G/LTE [editline]28th July 2014[/editline] They're basically just different data transfer standards/technologies, with different speeds. [editline]I'm a fucking moron[/editline] Edited to avoid any more misinformation
E < G < H < H+ < 3G < 4G/LTE [editline]28th July 2014[/editline] They're basically just different data transfer standards/technologies, with different speeds.
I'm still on G cause I never bothered to get a 3G sim card when I upgraded 2 years ago. Upgrading next week so i'll be jumping from G to 4G.
There's 3G sim cards?
There's 3G sim cards?
I've been on the same number since 2003 and still have the original sim card. Pre 3g.
So I broke my cheap chinese Qi charger (I felt like it kept charging inconsistently. Sometimes it would be fast, sometimes slow as hell, so I wanted to take a look inside) by trying to get into it and probably snapping the entire board :v: Bought a Nokia DT-900 though. Pretty awesome charger.
E < G < H < H+ < 3G < 4G/LTE [editline]28th July 2014[/editline] They're basically just different data transfer standards/technologies, with different speeds.
Oh cool thanks, I pretty much always have H+ in my area with the occasional spots of 3G so I guess that's alright. Sadly my phone doesn't support LTE :/
Aren't H and H+ faster than 3G?
They are.
E < G < H < H+ < 3G < 4G/LTE [editline]28th July 2014[/editline] They're basically just different data transfer standards/technologies, with different speeds.
H/H+ (HSPA) is literally 4G. It goes E < G < 3G < HSPA < HSPA+ < LTE HSPA and LTE are both 4G technologies, but separate bands.
Actually LTE-Advanced is the first standard that meets the requirements of the 4G spec, which as far as I'm aware isn't really widely available anywhere yet. If you want to go on the "literally" route, neither HSPA or LTE is 4G.
