And I'm pretty E is faster than G, if G is GPRS and E is EDGE (Enhanced GPRS). Not that you could really tell the difference because they're both slow as molasses.
I'm still on HSPA+, most carriers here charge a little bit extra for LTE. But it's uncapped so I get whatever the network can handle at the time, so most of the time it's around 20 Mbps which is enough for me.
Actually LTE-Advanced is the first standard that meets the requirements of the 4G spec, which as far as I'm aware isn't really widely available anywhere yet. If you want to go on the "literally" route, neither HSPA or LTE is 4G.
My mistake, they both are marketed by phone companies in Canada as "4G" when realistically they are not. Save some battery life and 20Mbps is still a pretty good speed, I never groan on waiting for shit to load.
Just got my G3 in the mail, I think I'm in love.
As long as you don't mind the letters falling off, and the mic being shit...
I've had my Nexus 5 for some months and had it naked for over a month, letters have not fallen off. I kinda think it's usually the black Nexus 5 that is affected and not the white one. edit: ok quick search on /r/nexus5 and elsewhere, it is every Nexus 5 colour.
Anyone want a OnePlus One invite? Got one left and it expires in two days anyway. First one to pm me gets it. Gonna go to bed now, so I'll give the invite out tomorrow.
Canada telecoms marketing is annoying Rogers: 4G HSPA, LTE Bell: 4G HSPA+, 4G LTE Telus: 4G HSPA+, 4G LTE Oh and apparently Telus LTE does 75Mbps max, 100Mbps max in Saskatchewan while Bell and Rogers does 150Mbps max, depending on location, etc. And just by looking at the coverage map for Toronto, Rogers has more "up to 150Mbps" coverage than Bell right now.

They look engraved in the plastic on my red N5.
American carriers like to play word games with 4G. HSPA+ they advertise as 4G and LTE networks are 4G LTE. As far as AT&T is concerned you pay the same price to get whichever is available in your area. I can only get HSPA+ where I live but if I travel to a LTE service area I automatically pick it up and am able to use it.

In Toronto and surrounding areas, there is LTE practically everywhere. I also went to St. Catherine's (near Niagara Falls area) a weekend or two ago and was on LTE pretty much all the time, besides for phone calls and this one small little building where it was spotty 3G if you were inside of it but there was LTE everywhere outside of it. LTE usually has better upload and ping than HSPA, super useful.
Anybody know when Samsung likes to announce the specs and release date of their next flagship device? I hear cool rumors of a 4k resolution screen on the S6 but I know a lot of rumors are complete bs until a few days before something is announced. I know they announce a new device each year and we are still about 6 months away from 2015 but I might wait for the S6 if it will be as much of an upgrade as rumors claim it to be.

I bought it late in May, and the S has fallen off compeltely (as well as some of the lines in the X), and all the letters are really loose, and are starting to get dirt behind them too. The mic is ridiculously shitty too, anything with sound over regular talking just gets drowned out by noise. That might just be my devices, though. If I'm not mistaken, I had the black longer than I've had this one, and those letters didn't fall off. [editline]29th July 2014[/editline]
Aren't H and H+ faster than 3G?
So they keep telling me, but I'm constantly on H or H+, and I swear, 3G was a lot quicker than it is. I'll edit my post, though.

The mic is definitely meh, video recordings are often crap because of the shitty audio.
After another eight days fighting with Verizon, they've made "progress" on my refund of $135.17 they illicitly withdrew from my bank account after I had closed my account with them (Verizon) months prior. I was supposed to get a refund on the 20th/21st, gave them a week because the mail service can be poor, and still have nothing. Called in and there was no record of my previous conversations with them about said refund. I'm ready to demand late fees on this garbage.

I've been given no information whatsoever.
Demand the late fees, hell even add interest for holding your money. Did they not give you a reference number to the calls?
Unfortunately it seems that late fees are for confused customers to pay, not the companies fucking them over.
I've been given no information whatsoever.
for all interactions with any company over the phone, always request a reference number, employee name and employee number. Shit like "oh we have no idea what you're talking about hurr durr" happens a lot which is why I've always requested such info. Also don't you have to authorize a company to take money like that from your bank account? I'd tell my bank to remove such authorization after cancelling services with any company that I given it in the first place.
Yeah, I thought I had, but something was still kicking around somewhere. I've since been much more outright about it.
Do you need to immediately buy it when you get the invite?
You have 24 hours after you claim it on your 1+ account.
On one hand, the G3 looks great but I hear that LG's apps are kind of annoying and limiting (Not being abler to rebind the shortcuts on the back. I hear the One Plus One is also great but the software is still buggy. I assume it will get fixed soon. Galaxy S5 just seems really childish and not very attractive compared to these other ones now and it's prime features gimmicky. And I am just super wary of the HTC M8 because the last HTC product I had (Wildfire) had bloatware out the wazoo. I got the go-ahead to get a new phone, right now it's down to trying to score a One+One or an HTC M8 with the G3 trailing close behind and the S5 being last. Any thoughts?
S5 probably has the best camera out there, especially the live hdr video
So who here uses a physical keyboard on their android phone or tablet?
So who here uses a physical keyboard on their android phone or tablet?
One of my best friends uses a small bluetooth keyboard with his Nexus 7 when he goes away from home for a day or longer (he's a writer for a news website)
So who here uses a physical keyboard on their android phone or tablet?
a friend of mine has a nice android tablet with a cylinder bottom (flap hinge, holds nicely) He also has a bluetooth apple keyboard with almost the same design. Works really well together
I'm bouncing around my priorities so much. I think the smart option would be to go with the S5 because it's IP67 and I live in super rainy Oregon and I live an active and adventurous lifestyle (so the extra durability would be nice). I like the camera, and honestly I'll have a case on it so people will see my case instead of the plastic back. That being said I'd TOTALLY go with a One + One purely because of the great deal and power it packs. It really hit it home with everything I care about most.
S5 probably has the best camera out there, especially the live hdr video
It also has a really good display. Stock ROM is a piece of horseshit though
[...]and I live an active and adventurous lifestyle[...]
And if you need a quick fire out in the wild you just need to start a 3D game and put it under a blanket. :v: Jokes aside, how come there are so many reports of Samsung phones just suddenly killing themselves or catching fire while charging? Samsung is one of the largest electronics companies and they can't even get heat dissipation right.
