I rooted my Note 3 with towelroot yesterday while bored on helpdesk, though I still can't seem to use ROM Toolbox to remove pre installed apps, they just reinstall themselves when I reboot the phone. Is there anything I can do about that?
i seemed to fix this using an app (root uninstaller) to disable the app then uninstall it
Can someone please link me to the holo steam someone here was making. (Can't remember who sadly)
Me, I. I was making it, and I still am. Currently attempting to update it to be Material. Material Design is much harder than holo to understand. I'm going to need some time on it.
Oh hey, it's Thursday and I still have no refund. Fuck this, bitching out Verizon. Not going to be nice anymore.
Go demand late fees and interest for holding your money.
I don't think it'll be. There's rumors that Motorola is up next for a Nexus, and the Moto devices are a decent size.
How is the decision making split though? I'd imagine Google having most (if not all) of the say in every Nexus phone (considering it's their brand)
Anyone else with a Moto X been getting terrible battery lately? I've been getting horrible battery life for the past week or so.
63% at time of posting, most of that is not in use.

Since opening the browser and posting this, it has gone down to 60%
Is there any way to see which apps you've downloaded on which days? I might need to uninstall stuff.
Is it possible that dropping it could have messed up the battery physically?
Just realized: it says WiFi was on that entire time, but it has been off since last night. Also, according to a third party battery app, it lost 6% battery while the phone was off
I'm getting terrible battery life too but I figured out that my location has been on high accuracy for a number of days now, seems to be dropping less
nexus 4 btw
I can see the sharpen thing on my G3 now that you guys mention it. But I guess I'm lucky, it doesn't bother me any, and I guess I have big hands as the size of the device is no big deal either.
Well the device wasn't too big for my hands but it was too big for how I like to hold my phones. I usually hold it in my left hand with my thumb supporting it on the bottom and my middle finger on the top left corner kind of pinching the device with my hand then use my index to swipe about.
The G3 gave me hand cramps while the G2 was perfectly sized. Honestly, I think the perfect size would be like right between the G2 and the G3 with the G3's aesthetics but the lightness of the G2.
The G2 is really an amazing size and packs a huge screen into it, I'm pretty sure I'll end up paying off this device since it's by far my favorite.

Google Services has wakelocked my phone constantly for the last 14 hours, pretty sure it's acting up like always.

Yeah your not the only one, it's sucked 14% from my battery, literally the 2nd biggest battery drainer according to my phone closely followed by the Android System and Android OS
Google's gotta fix their shit, and I hope Android L Battery Saver works
Time to see how well my phone battery lasts this weekend..
Out fishing in the boonies on the Columbia river. 20mbps down 15 up.
Wtf sprint, why don't I have this level of service in town, a quarter mile from the antenna?

Sounds like Sprint ~SpArK~ :v:
That's honestly the fastest you will ever see on a sprint tower, their LTE towers are horribly out of date and have very little bandwidth behind them.

I don't think st Helens has spark, but the 4g is faster than Vancouver.

Also the camera in PA kinda sucks

I was joking about the spark, it would seem like sprint to put it in a location in the middle of nowhere to increase the amount of "markets" it's rolled out to since they are really media whoring every time they upgrade their network to 2014.
AOSP camera app is pretty meh, use the Google Camera app from the play store, it's pretty good.
You could also give CloudyG3 a try if you want to try something different. Dunno how well the camera in that really works though compared to the G3 which has the "laser focus".
I was using the google camera. Seems like everything is out of focus and grainy.
Cell phone cameras really don't do night shots at all, you need a bigger lens and a long exposure AFAIK. Up until recently, I couldn't even take a night shot with a cell phone camera. The image just ended up pure black.
All my photos I ever post in AA are with the Google Camera off my G2, it's about as good of quality as a older point and shoot.
Heh, I'm tempted to install Cyanogenmod on my Note 3 after breaking my S-Pen. The thing costs $25!
I'm running omni on my note 10.1 and I can do more with the same pen than on stock. It's because stock sSamsung captures the SPEN button events for their bullshit right click menu. Apps like Papyrus simply can't use the s pen button in stock. With cyanogenmod and omni, Papyrus CAN use the s pen button.
So yeah the s pen works better on cyanogenmod than on stock.
I took some pictures before the sun went down and they weren't that impressive.
Its actually kinda difficult to take a picture of lightning lol
then I tried taking a video and the lightning seemed to flash anywhere I didnt have my phone pointed.
I'm getting a new phone soon and I have no idea what to get since the last Android I had was the HTC Aria :v:
I've been hearing a lot of good things about the LG G2 in this thread but I've been looking at other phones like the Xperia Z1 and the Nexus 5.
I'm particularly drawn towards the Xperia Z1 because of the price, the camera, and its appearance. What do you guys think of it? Is it any good?

Best phones on the market atm in my opinion, One M8, Nexus 5 and LG G3. Best budget phone is Moto G.

Taking photos of lightning is basically just guessing and taking a lot of long exposures
Have fun focusing in the dark.
Also the most annoying shit ever on the nexus 5 with the google camera app, stuff is in focus but the second after I pressed the video record button, it suddenly goes out of focus. What the hell.
Have fun focusing in the dark.
That's why you use a camera that has manual focus :v:
Or use a camera that has good auto focus, like a DSLR. Make sure to use one AF point and point that to the lights or something with high contrast.

That's what I meant, and you pretty much have to use manual because AF completely shits out in the dark
Anyone here who uses the more cheaper Assmung (Samsung) phones?
I just bought the S3 mini i8200 value edition, and it seems there aren't ROMs for it available on XDA developers.
Anyone knows a source where I can find a 4.4.X ROM? I really don't want to stick with the ruined 4.2.2 on it.

did you seriously buy a budget phone, a SAMSUNG budget phone no less, and expect a rom development scene with android 4.4 ports?
LOL
Also buying phones without doing research first.
LOL

Yup. The reason they struggle with night time is, because there's not a lot of light. When shooting in low light condition, we (people who use pro cameras) either open up the lense, or set the exposure longer (the shutter stays open longer, letting more light in, but any movement will be caught in the image as blur), or both. I'm really surprised the camera apps don't allow for longer exposures.

Hey, the I9001 which I had had quite a lot of support, and the GT-I8190 has. So how should I've known this? This is the second Android phones I'll get my hands on for a long time.
Guess I just sit tight and find a way to at least root the thing and clean it as much as I can.
[editline]1st August 2014[/editline]
Ok so I've just done my research a bit, the phone was announced this year, so yeah I just have it mature. Has anyone gotten phones with a similar situation and knows how long they had to wait? I really want to move away from the stock ROM.
