Got my "Genuine LG quickcover" today. Only complaints about it is that it doesn't fit exactly (the top bends outwards a bit, which makes it creak when talking on the phone), and that it doesn't have a hole for the notification light. Otherwise, the build quality is excellent, and it looks and feels like a genuine LG cover.
This is a question to any other Nexus 5 users. Does your phone just randomly stop being able to send or receive phone calls? I'm running Paranoid Android but apparently this happens on stock as well

Nope
Reflash your radio?

Never had the issue.
My motor just likes to freeze up sometimes.
Tapping the back fixes it. I'll RMA later.

I have a quickview or whatever the hell the flip cover window case is for the G2, it scratched up my phone and was a total pain in the ass to use. Some people even report it scratching the screen.

Yeah, I have the same complaint about no spot for a notification light. Been sorely tempted to fashion one myself.

Yeah, it seems the hole for the phone speaker is just cut out, though, so if you took an exacto knife it probably wouldn't look too bad.
Has anyone in the UK sold a phone to Mazuma/Envirophone etc? Getting my One M8 this week and gonna sell my S3 which is rooted and has a custom ROM on it and was wondering if I had to reset it all? No longer have a backup of the original ROM.
Help, running Omnirom on my Nexus 5 and I've been getting sort of crappy battery life and this is shown in the battery stats, but i've never even once used Bluetooth. What do?

This site has pretty much all Samsung phones default ROMs for download.
What's a good screen protector to get for a One M8? Would ideally be less than £10. Spigen Tempered Glass sell for £20.
Anyone ever replaced a Nexus 5 screen? Dropped mine about a month ago and finally blew £100 to replace it. Is there a go to guide to do it or should I just find something myself and hope for the best?
Bought the official google bumper case for it too, costs far too much but it's the nicest case I've seen for a phone and isn't covered in shit brand logos.

Oh and is it worth putting Android L on my Nexus? Fancy a change and I'm not too worried about instability or anything

The bleeding edge.
Where you are forced to use ART and Calender doesn't work
And Australian MMS
And Graphical Errors on some popups (swifkey, facebook)
And GPS Wifi not working
But battery though

Maybe one of these? Never owned one of this brand but the reviews seem good.

Would've recommended the Skinomi glass one since it's something I've actually owned, but it seems Amazon UK doesn't have it.

If you got the whole screen assembly, this should help you
So, I want to bring something up about screen protectors.
Is it weird that I prefer matte looking ones to the glossy "clear" ones?
Aside from less glare, the texture isn't as grabby as the naked glass or glossy protectors when my fingers are a touch sweaty.
I used to use them a lot and then I decided I didn't want to so now I just use my nexus 5 without one.
I guess the screen feels smoother and easier to use but then later on it gets harder to use because my thumb can't slide around on the screen as fast as it used to. On a film screen protector, it would be smooth pretty much all the time.
Right, so I just decided to use my Raspi to run OpenELEC, and I'm trying to figure out a way to stream music and video files stored on my phone to it, I guess like a poor man's Chromecast. The built in media output setting only seems to work with the similarly built in music and picture apps, and BubbleUPnP works but wants $5 to get rid of length restrictions (which wouldn't be a big deal if I hadn't already fucked up by thinking Plex would do what I wanted and spending $5 on that too). Would appreciate some advice, even if my only option is to just spend another $5.
I am actually getting a Chromecast on Wednesday, but this would at least give me something to do with my Raspi. It's just been sitting around for months
HTC One M8 is out for delivery, just need to wait for the text from DPD saying which hour it's being delivered.
I guess I killed my MicroSD card by accidentally shutting down my phone and writing files to it. Now not even a PC recognizes it anymore.
Guess it is fucked or maybe it can be fixed with means I do not know. So can you do something or should I just get a new one?
In the end wiping it in Recovery helped. Not much was lost anyways.
Phone just arrived.

Still waiting for EE to transfer my number to my new sim.
He asked me what my surname was, I said Cox, so he typed in Cocks.

If you're moving from OUK or TMUK, just call up and have them migrate it straight over now, if it's EE - EE and it hasn't transferred yet, call up and ensure the correct sim has been registered, as the changeover should only take about ~20 minutes (officially 24 presuming service orders don't cock up :v:)
So I was looking at DX for the hell of it

Even Xiaomi's getting in on these, and they actually look not terrible (the app looks like it does shit)
Their app is marginally better than the Pressy app (and the pressy app is shit)

I called them up and they said when I put the Sim in it requested the number to be ported from Orange to EE and it won't be done till Tomorrow Midnight. Fucking ridiculous amount of time. But I can still use my other phone till then.

They are correct, it can (and should) automatically move over but in the application used to manage your EE account, they can actually force the migration over now (I know this, I work on their business side of things and have done it before, it's literally 3 clicks to do :v:)
But yeah, once the other phone shuts off, the other one will kick in automatically. Just leave the new phone off with the SIM in for now.

I can't receive texts or calls till it's switch over, this is annoying.

That shouldn't be the case. The Orange account isn't closed until the EE account has fully activated, meaning all your services should work. There is usually a small downtime of 1-2 hours once the EE side kicks in, but until then it should all be working.
If it is the case you're already losing service, then by 8pm~ tonight you should have service on the EE phone

I can make calls on the EE phone, I can send texts and make calls on the Orange phone, but can't receive Texts or Calls on either.
