I wish I knew how to do this
I installed a light manager app and it messed with the color for charging, and wanted $3 for me to be able to use it with basically any app from the store.
Its in my settings menu under display & lights:

Oh god, the M8 only has green LED notifications. Downloaded LightFlow and the LED started working for stuff other than Email. It's so fucking bright.

Oh, okay. What device do you have?
Oh, okay. What device do you have?
Oneplus One
Had to uninstall LightFlow. It kept the LED on even after getting rid of all notifications.
These are the lights I remember
Green: Gmail, Hangouts
Blue: Reddit Sync
I should probably customize them too..
For me Gmail/Hangouts is white, and Sync is yellow. FB messenger is Green, and regular FB is blue.
So thanks to one of the very few people on this forum who has a Jolla, I'm getting a 16GB Nexus 7 2013 soon.
Yay!

This is a Cyanogenmod thing, it's not in stock Android.
I like how the vibration icon has the effect that old Gameboy games would use if the player was warping or something :v:
I only get yellow-colored notification light on my M8 for everything. Is this normal?
I just used GravityBox Ultimate Notification Centre for my notification LEDs, but since I'm on L and ART, that functionality has disappeared :/

is ART worth it over xposed (until it gets support at least)? I haven't dared to part from xposed so I haven't really gotten around to try it yet
Since it's forced on L, there's no option to not use it.
But in return there's better battery life, and a considerable amount of apps don't support it yet (OneNote, Calender, Libra Eorzea)
Xposed Developer is working on an update, but it will take a while
I only get yellow-colored notification light on my M8 for everything. Is this normal?
HTC phones generally only have three notification light colors. Green, orange (I guess you could consider it yellow), and red.
Steady green = battery full
Flashing green = notification (I get this if I get emails or text messages, it doesn't matter which).
Steady orange = charging
Flashing red = battery low
Flashing green takes priority unless there is a low battery warning in which case it will flash red until you charge it or the battery dies IIRC.
The notification light behaves exactly the same on my HTC Eris from 2009 and my M8. So I assume there is very little variation between models.

I dunno, i don't use xposed for anything right now and ART seems to be faster on everything
My Nexus 5's front camera keeps crashing Snapchat and other apps when I try to take video with it.
Anyone have this issue before?

This is all I've been dreaming since the Galaxy Nexus
i know it's real, but every time i'd pull that phone out of my pocket i'd feel like it was photoshopped
Also, I have never flashed a ROM onto a smartphone before. I've only ever done this to my Nexus 7.
I have a StraightTalk plan with an AT&T sim. Will reflashing screw anything up?

The process is identical to doing it on the N7 (my 2012 N7 and my M8 actually are running TeamWin recovery and function exactly the same). The only thing that will change is how you flash the recovery partition initially and what ROMs you use. Short of miscellaneous ROM specific bugs, your phone will pull network info off the SIM. Its really hard to screw anything up in a non-reversible way.
All this messing around with my s4 makes me nostalgic towards my old Droid 2 with Liberty. That thing was great and I could frequently get 3 days of battery life.
Moto G only has a white notification LED :(

For some reason, the trackball on my Eris also had a notification LED. So you could set it up so the trackball glows for one type of notification, the battery/notification LED for others, or both if you love blinkenlights.

This pulls a massive weight of nervousness off my shoulders. Thanks!
Going to college as a freshman tomorrow so I needed to know that pretty quick and I appreciate that response.

i like the idea of a really thin border around the screen but the silver bottom area looks unnecessarily large and something about the bezel throws me off a bit
"oh cool Galaxy alpha! Woo less plastic. It's 900$ here, ouch that means it has to have insane specs!"
720p display, less than 2000mAh battery and unnecessary "octa" core. Samsung what were you thinkin?

Silly octacore. My coworker had the octacore s4 while I had the standard quadcore.
I found out after a hour of talking to Sprint reps that I'm able to pay just 66 dollars on my birthday to end my monthly payments on Sprint One Up and get a new phone under a 2-year contract
Are there any phones coming out on Sprint before Oct. 1st that I should know about?
