When I get an incoming call and the Caller ID shows up the number, is there a way for the Dialer to also tell me what area code it is so I don't get charged long distance minutes from like USA?
You can use Truecaller, i believe.

You get charged long distance from incoming calls?

I thought this was a standard feature. My GNex would show what state or country that area code was registered to. Maybe the city in some cases but I don't get calls outside of the state too often and my state only has one area code so I don't remember.
that bothered me a lot in the beginning, but my head nor eyes hurt anymore from it, but it's still noticeable. still regret not getting the M8 over this, even more so after hearing LG won't unlock the bootloader
I had one with an unlocked bootloaded (D851 - TMO) and I still returned it for a $50 restocking charge for another LG G2.

Only 1 area code? Where do you live, Rhode Island?
You get charged long distance from incoming calls?
I have no idea. The whole local calling area and how long distance charges works is confusing. I stay in my local calling area most of the times anyways.
any way to enable the stock lockscreen for the LG G3? I know it's possible on some phones to rename some files to enable the stock one. if not possible, any good lockscreen replacements?
I use Slide Lock, looks good and doesn't forget to load like Widget Locker does sometimes.
Oh shit this "Vanir ROM" with its shitty boot animations and corny "heavy metal android development" tagline is a wonderful thing
12 hours of normal usage on my Optimus G Pro and my battery is still at 90%
what is this magic

Other than the extensive image manipulation thingies, Dell has done good with this one

South Dakota. One area code (605) covers every single land line and cell phone in the state. Which makes sense for a state of roughly ~850,000. I'm guessing at most there are 3-4 million numbers actively used, which would mean only half the area code.

Usually you only pay for outgoing, unless you're in a different country, then you pay roaming costs for incoming calls and texts.

I legitimately get confused when I use the phones at work to dial a number out of town and the call doesn't complete (or I get exchange tones?). I keep forgetting that long distance was considered a call that left your immediate calling area. Cell phones having nationwide calling have spoiled me.
Did you have to do anything to set it up? I've had my phone for like 8 months now, GPS settings always the same as they are now, and it has not once told me where I parked.
Do I have to keep the Google Now app open constantly? Or what?
I don't do anything special at all. I did go through the 3dot when the card had first appeared and told it I want to get parking updates, but you can access those same settings in google now without a card popping up. I use a Nexus 5 coming from a Moto G and both phones did it for me.
Why isn't Norway supported in wakie yet? :(
I've been waiting half a week now! :v:
Don't worry, I can call you ;)
I just ordered a LG G3, coming from a S3 mini
Did I make a mistake or should I keep the order?

if an unlocked bootloader is important to you, I'd choose something else. other than that, it's a great phone. I'd be wary of the sharpening issue, some people don't notice it and others can't stand it

Could you explain what that means? Does it mean that I can't root it?
Could you explain what that means? Does it mean that I can't root it?
rooting is still possible, but if you want to flash stuff like AOKP, AOSP or a new kernel, that won't be possible. or, you can put a custom recovery and a custom kernel on it, but it'll only be tethered meaning you need to use adb to boot the phone to use any of them. it'll go away once it's started/rebooted without adb

Then it won't matter to me. I never mess with my phone except for rooting, which is almost a deal-breaker for me. Is it easy to root? (International ver.)

I have an optimus 3D and I can tell you it's useless if no developer does anything with it.
Few people did anything with the 3D camera on the LG Optimus/HTC Evo 3D. It was useless.
Few (but still enough) people do stuff with the galaxy note S Pen. I only needed one app for brilliant note taking. Luckily I have it with papyrus, but besides LectureNotes and other drawing apps there aren't that many S Pen apps. It's really a shame.

It's easy.

new Hangouts update is fucking cool

just got my update from the Play store this morning.
hmm. my LG G3 is down to 40% after 8hr 42 min of being powered on, and 1hr 39 min screen on time.
Can you potentially link an actual phone with another akin to a wearable? To perhaps make your own?
the app is a lot prettier now so just let it off with a warning officer please
This is going to be a written warning. Its an easy feature to put in.

last time i got a warning the occifer's printer completely destroyed the paper on the way out
I would rather see the ability to share videos both via MMS and Hangouts before naming group chats.
